A closer game than I expected but not one we were ever going to win. A good first season for Ten Hag imo regardless.
Man City (1.22) 2-1 (1.89) Man Utd

3rd June 2023 at 5:12 pm #207231Sean, I’d have been embarrassed if that pen was a defining moment of the game. It’s a pen according to the ridiculous handball rules but I don’t like seeing them given.

3rd June 2023 at 5:49 pm #207233City get more pens than anyone Adlab π. This feeling that you’re always hard done by is laughable. I wouldn’t mind but you never have any numbers to back up your arguments. You seem to think Utd get every decision and City get none but you’ve had more than 3x as many pens as us this season

3rd June 2023 at 6:10 pm #207234Well my logic was sound, half way between a City mauling and a sneaky Utd victory was a narrow City victory. Was always going to be closer than we thought as it was a derby. Hard not to see them not get the treble now unless Pep decides to go for an inverted Christmas tree formation vs Inter π

3rd June 2023 at 6:36 pm #207235Unless Inter come up with something special, I have very little doubt City won’t complete the Treble. Let’s be frank, this is Roy Of The Rovers and everything they touch turns to Triumph. You can’t begrudge it when it comes to what they do on the pitch.
They don’t need me to say enjoy the moment and make the most of the Celebrations π

3rd June 2023 at 6:47 pm #207237Manchester United can still celebrate a much more of an improved season under Erik Ten Hag securing a CL Place and a Cup. Still an Open-Top-Bus moment to give to the Supporters,
Why not! We’ve come this far into June and got through the World Cup which was a difficult period of players getting injured etc, plus the backlog of the games to adjust to, so a pat-on-back without a question in my books.

3rd June 2023 at 8:02 pm #207238“You canβt begrudge it when it comes to what they do on the pitch.”
Buy you can begrudge how they got those players onto the pitch in the first place.
Chalk up another asterix next to this one.
I do feel a little unwashed after wanting a Utd win! They have improved but I think overall the league was a poor standard this season which made Utd look better than they should. Some of their play is pretty poor with the occasional moment of skill, often enough to win matches.
Dont think Mount is the solution. A box to box midfielder and top striker should be their priority, and maybe some defenders and a new keeper too!

3rd June 2023 at 8:38 pm #207239Three P’s, perhaps that could be another topic of discussion for another day mate; I totally hear and get ya.
For what it’s worth, my own day off was busy re organizing rooms after from a Painter being in all practically all week. I thought listen to it on Radio 5 and BOOM! Gundogen SCORES!
From a football fan’s point of view when stepping away and reentering from the outside, you can understand and be a little in acceptance of “ah well let it be” and just digest the occasion for what it is.
And yes, for a split-second mate, I became a mad-man and whats-app’d in our group chat wanting Man United.
I was a little too pre-occupied though rearranging furniture π Productive Day for me personally. Let’s be frank, it’s been Roy Of The Rovers and everything has fell on the lap for them. It’s not going to happen every single season, so for me, just let it be.
I’m quite looking forward to next Saturday Night π π

3rd June 2023 at 8:40 pm #207240Oh yes Agree re Mount, Three P’s. My call on that would be for Bruno to just Dominate the Midfield, and if United let’s say sign a Top Class Striker, only then would Mason Mount be a good fit for them, just in front of the midfield, but behind the Striker.

3rd June 2023 at 9:12 pm #207242Didn’t go today but got my ticket and trip booked to Istanbul for CL Final – some sacrifices have to me made π§.
On the match today, City certainly the better team, overall, without really getting out of second gear. United appeared to lack any strategy apart from kicking the ball long.
Penalty was correct under current law but law is a joke.
We could easily have had a penalty for the ‘foul’ on KdB – if ref had given it on field, VAR wouldn’t have overturned.
Not to grumble though – two down, one to go – COYB_____________________________

4th June 2023 at 10:30 am #207245Congrats to City, we were in it for all of 12 seconds when a hoof downfield undid our defence.
We lacked the quality when in the final third, and that needs to be addressed. Bruno, for all his qualities gives the ball away far too easily.
Canβt see the complaints on the penalty, clear as day, all the Utd players near the incident were calling for it. How the linesman missed it is a mystery. Hands clearly raised and blocked the cross. VAR usually goes with the original decision so when something like that gets overturned there can be no complaints.
Shame we couldnβt nick one at the end, but our bench was lacking quality with the injuries to Martial and Anthony and the poor replacement brought in for Ronaldo. Lots of work to do over the summer and I think they need to be clever in the market and go for cheaper players and free transfers (would much prefer Tielemens on a free over Mount any day of the week).

4th June 2023 at 10:40 am #207246Also very disappointing that the officials are still allowing City to foul in the transition period with no consequence. Completely disrupts the attacking teamβs momentum going forward.

4th June 2023 at 12:12 pm #207248Congratulations to the City fans on here. Shame about the idiot who threw something at Lindelof. They had far too much for us.
Cheers Ed.The prize for the biggest dickhead of the day goes to this clown
