Now TV as I think Mikus pointed out is a great way to watch the games you want to watch in high quality with a few friends and it will cost you all a couple of quid each plus a can of beer or two. π
Nil I’m not sure where you’re getting you’re putting Sky on a pedestal nonsense from again who and where has anyone put Sky on a pedestal in this discussion?

6th August 2019 at 10:47 pm #44621By the way talking about Sky their Movie Channels are pants now save the odd blockbuster that comes along far too irregularly a Premier of a Movie a day is often a foreign language Movie. I regularly lambast the Sky staff in our local shopping precinct about this.
I did give Sky a bit of a kicking over the phone a while back about the above and their prices generally and they gave me a better deal which paid for my BT Sport’s.
When I’m at the precinct with my Grandsons and we see the Sky guys and gals I tell my Grandson’s they’re all pirates. π

6th August 2019 at 10:49 pm #44623Nine, I was in support mate from a post @ 9:23 (Very Good Humour).
My comment mate is just speaking aloud,(as Sky is a long serving a still highly dominant broadcaster) though this is not the first time you’ve reacted the way you have now. Are you some kind of a staunch supporter of Sky?
You seem to use them as reference to support your arguments and to instigate threads of Betting Odds. That’s your call and good for you. I think differently, that’s all.

6th August 2019 at 10:59 pm #44625Nil, I use SkyBet purely for consistency and they have the best site for easily cutting and pasting all of the odds.
Sky Sports News are a useful reference points re transfers etc.
As I’ve told you before I hate what Sky costs me but I’m a Sport’s fan and they’ve got certain Sport’s like Golf the Cricket and F1 sewn up.
I certainly don’t put Sky on a pedestal and have only reacted to what you’ve said I gave you the benefit of the doubt last time but twice is a bit of a coincidence.
Anyway put that Big Mac down you haven’t paid for it! π

6th August 2019 at 11:07 pm #44626Nine @ 10:47, The Movies on Sky were Pure Gold back in the 90s. The quality has dropped in variety/choice for a long time. Hard to find something decent and enjoyable to your liking.

7th August 2019 at 1:42 am #44628AnonymousOz (5th August 2019 at 5:17 am) : “For me We havenβt really strengthened but our main rivals have. ”
Klopp would have a strong response for this. He’d say something about how we have strengthened. That our team gets the opportunity to stay together, without losing any keys players, or to have to blood several lads in. They all know each-other and Klopp gets a lot of time on the training ground to hone this already great side, into an even better one.
I’m not even really putting words in his mouth, he’s spoken about exactly this topic and said that the way forward is not always in adding new players. He’s said that it’s more exciting sure but not always the best way.
Now, this is what Klopp wants. I would add 1-2 players perhaps for some comfort but he doesn’t want to. Can’t we accept that he knows best and to get on board with his plan?
As for what you said about City maybe finishing more points ahead of us, well, we were only 1 behind this time, so that’s very possible. Will that be down to them signing players and us not? Unless we get very unlucky with injuries then I’d say that it won’t be.
Personally, I think we will win the PL this season. I’ve thought long and hard about it and I’m going to have this position from the get go.
every year we’ve gotten better under Klopp. Every season he gets more from the players who haven’t already peaked. We’ve a breath-taking side and the only reason to sign anyone, would be to cover ourselves for injuries, it wouldn’t be replace a single player in the team. I have a feeling that Klopp has plans for when injuries do happen though.

7th August 2019 at 6:20 am #44629I had to bite the bullet this year and get Sky.de. I got the entertainment package with Netfix but I think just for Skysports in UHD it’s 15eur for the first year, and that covers around 2/3 of the matches including 3 o’clock kick offs. To me that is pretty reasonable, and whilst my German isn’t the best I can understand some of the common football phases like “Tor!!”, “Elfmeter!!”, “Handspiel!!” and “Phil Jones ist ScheiΓe!!”
Will miss the legal stream DAZN, had all but 2 Liverpool games live last season, and for 10EUR a month. I think most fans would be happy watching most of their teams games for that sort of price and then people wouldn’t need to stream illegally.

7th August 2019 at 9:00 am #44632You can also search sites on the web and watch a game…often not great quality but good enough.
Of course doesnt compare to watching on TV and the strean channels are different each week._____________________________

8th August 2019 at 1:11 pm #44759It makes you wonder though that the sites offering streaming isn’t a yesterday thing and has gone on for years. Plus, you’d imagine it’s accessible in any country.

8th August 2019 at 2:00 pm #44772AnonymousThe reason why illegal streaming isn’t a yesterday thing is because the price that Sky charge is scandalous. What threeps said is the centre of the issue. To many, the insane fees that Sky and BT charge is ok and they will pay it but to others like myself, it’s way too much and I refuse.
They strategically charge as much as they can to a smaller audience, instead of trying to offer their service to as many as possible, for a more reasonable price. Putting legal pressure on people who refuse to pay their ridiculous prices benefits them further by convincing a certain percentage of them to cross over and pay.
Well I won’t but it’s true that sometimes streams are just awful. This is the price I pay but it’s an easier pill to swallow.

8th August 2019 at 2:23 pm #44775I’ve dealt with customers telling me they’re paying way over the odds like Β£100 a month on Sky. No wonder more and more are switching over to other alternatives.
Virgin isn’t any better.

8th August 2019 at 2:30 pm #44777To be honest, not 100% what I pay for my footy, all wrapped up in the same package as my internet, phone, HBO and all my other “things” but I know the total in my house is about 90 Euro thingys a month for the lot. I do, however, get every single Prem Game, all the “live” ones when they are “live”, including one of the 3 o’clocks, and the rest are played during the course of the week or stored in the “library” (an on-line one, not the Goonie Stadium!) for 14 days. Really don’t have much to complain about I think, personally. As for how many games, tends to be Spuds first, Top6 match-ups 2nd, and maybe a tricky “away-day” for a Top 6 side but I certainly don’t watch every single one!!

8th August 2019 at 4:53 pm #44792AnonymousTo get just the sports channels (but all of them) from Sky, it’s 60 euro a month. They offer it for 30 a month for the first 6 but after that… I’m sorry but that’s just really ridiculous.
oh, this seems to be the additional cost to the basic package , which i think you must get in order tog et the sports. That’s the w3ay it was before anyway.
Is it any wonder people are pirating matches. that’s outrageous!

8th August 2019 at 5:47 pm #44800Sky football on its own is currently Β£18 pm according to Sky’s price list obviously if you take everything else plus HD plus multi room it’s more expensive I’ve got the lot plus BT and it cost me over a ton I can afford it but I get that some can’t but then there’s Now TV and watching it down the Pub.
When I’m down in Cornwall if Chelsea are on with no Sky or BT in the Hotel I go down to the Club. Same in Catalonia when I’m there if Chelsea are on I go to a a Bar.
There’s always a way to watch the games you want to watch without resorting to poor quality streaming.

8th August 2019 at 7:55 pm #44813AnonymousThat’s all true Nine, although I’ve never heard of Now TV. As for the pub etc, I’m gravitating away from that over the years and honestly prefer to get a few cans , or if Im being sensible (get on the exercise bike… which isnt often :P).
it’s been a long long time since I’ve paid sky anything and now that Im in a studio apartment with a PC that is also my TV”, so to speak… well, it’s not plausible anyway. back in the day I paid over 100 euro for internet and the whole sky package together, which was just too much in my mind. This was like 12+ years ago now before BT sport came in with more matches. Remember when they had 20% of your teams matches?
I appreciate that they’ve made the effort to bring more and more matches and if I do some day see something that is reasonable then I’ll happily subscribe, if it suits me financially at said juncture , of course π I have a tight budget these days but it would change my opinion for sure.
The Sky website isnt working for me, Nine, Mind telling me what Sky Football is? I assume it’s the matches only? Not counting BT’s matches I guess? If you need to look it up, don’t bother. Only tell me if you know off hand. cheers

8th August 2019 at 8:34 pm #44817Mak, that’s just for the football on Sky. BT Sport costs from Β£10 to Β£29 a month more depending how you take it. I battered Sky down on my package price which funded BT Sport on my set top box.

8th August 2019 at 11:20 pm #44820Sky in my opinion need to be more engaging and genuinely more customer focused. Our home package with Internet and Broadband was trimmed down. This was only though due to me making a phone call to Customer Services and essentially pointing out to them that I was prepared to switch over to another competitor if they didn’t consider lower their prices.
I don’t know whether they think they can retain customers out of loyalty or through what they offer, but it’s only most recent that they have more tailored packages.
There needs to be more choice available from a customer viewing habit and interest point of view. E.g. Some fans out there won’t bother watching matches of other teams. Or some won’t have time etc.
One idea for future could be to involve Football Clubs and trial out at least an option where there’s a subscription specifically just to watch that particular team, Home and Away – like a Season Ticket but an Armchair version.
They way my own habits are at the moment, the only 2 Teams I’d watch right now of genuine interest is Liverpool and Man City.

This is not allowed by the PL and for good reason.
