In Europe ed but not in the league ye which is hard to understand.
I hope city win the cl or spurs if they go through. I look at psg last night and it’s awful the way they behave. It’s no excuses as we lost but Jesus it was frustrating. I’d be embarrassed to behave like that
Real Madrid and Barca the same. Diving and play acting goes on in the pl but it’s no were near the likes of last night
Neymar is just an absolute bellend and last night was another example of why he will never but up there near Ronaldo or Messi
The ball was passed to him but ran out of play as he was turning waving his arm to the crowd. Like ffs lol. If I was the manager I would have whipped him off. Messi and Ronaldo work bloody hard. This lad doesn’t. His attitude is a disgrace
He’s now number one on my list of absolute knobheads replacing Joey Barton who goes into 2nd place

29th November 2018 at 9:03 am #28620It’s weird with Liverpool how they’ve performed so far in the CL. Perhaps it’s down to them now being favourites after their great campaign last season? It’s usually harder when you’re expected to really perform. That wasn’t quite the case last season. Perhaps they lack that last bit of mental toughness?
I still think they’ll beat Napoli at home in the last game and go through. Fingers crossed for that one.As for who I hope wins the CL, then obviously United. But we’re crap most of the time, our style of play is dire, and when you need to rely on Fellaini as your savior, your chance of succes equals that of a pig in Teheran. I just hope the likes of City and PSG fall short again.
Would actually be nice to see someone like Atletico, Tottenham or Dortmund win it._____________________________

29th November 2018 at 9:31 am #28627AnonymousWe just aren’t the same team as we were last season, offensively. We are nowhere near as good and I’m not interested in stats that suggest that we don’t have a problem because I’ve watched every single Liverpool match so far and we are just nowhere near as quick in foot or thought. Our counter attacks are one dimensional and usually go nowhere. Our forward players are just not anywhere near what they were and I’m sick of saying it but I think Buvac going has partially led to this.
Last night wasn’t just about the attack. The midfield were dominated and even our defence had a tough time of it, with some mistakes from Van Dijk costing us. The ref didn’t help and it cant be a good thing to know that one tiny mistake and you’re absolutely getting booked from that guy. he was dishing out yellows for normal fouls. Gomez and Wijnaldum could have seen red by his retarded double standard reffing. The same didnt apply to PSG and again this cant help the mental battle, with it already being a pretty tense environment/fixture.
The thing that i can’t get over though is how 2nd best we looked. That I can not accept.

29th November 2018 at 10:10 am #28629Our midfield is too similar, Rob Texas also said this as did many others. There is zero creativity there & with the top 3 a shadow of last season we are not going anywhere fast. Unfortunately Keita & Fabinho look like they aren’t fitting in real well & teams know how to play us. We need to evolve or we will fall behind the pack. I’m still hopeful we will finish top 4 but any talk of titles is a way off yet.

29th November 2018 at 10:42 am #28634Anonymous999 – i assume down to his past with both west ham and inter. i have no issue with having balanced punditry but they would never dream of having a pundit on a united or liverpool game wishing them to lose.

29th November 2018 at 11:30 am #28636Paxton, I agree mate this is something that the TV companies that cover football have to sort out some of the punditry is ridiculous because of their allegiances.

30th November 2018 at 3:36 pm #28657AnonymousI don’t like talk of top 4, not because I don’t think we’re unable. I don’t want to go from looking at us surrendering the title with soon to come losses, to immediately skipping past “we can get 2nd”, if you know what I mean. I’m not ruling out us having this problem but we haven’t played Everton yet and I guess it’s got to be one of those games where we have the chance to kick on.
PSG just made our lads look so inept. I don’t even mean tactically but more physically and technically. It’s not a problem that I would expect many teams to be able to do with us but they really did. The whole thing has left a bitter taste in my mouth and the majority of that comes from knowing that we’re better than this. Nothing is worse than a derailed project and although we’re not there yet, if we don’t sort our shit out immediately, we’re heading there.
There has to be an immediate response. The lads have got to show some steel and some guts. They lacked the character and the drive to take the game to PSG in a meaningful way. I could and should bang on about our current captain but the one who I want as captain didn’t exactly shine either.
I’ll stop cause I’ll only piss people off.

30th November 2018 at 8:16 pm #28663Makaveli…I was dissapointed with Liverpools performance but I think it is just a case of knowing how to put it all together again. They have the ability, although I think your midfield needs to betterin terms of linking the play. The problem Mr Klopp has is he knows the high press game well, but it will not be suitable for every game so he has to resort to a Plan B and for whatever reasons the players are not right for that, so he has a dilema or is it lack of trust in players for plan B. He knows plan A is not sustainable throughout the season.
I am sure he will get it right_____________________________

Liverpool midfield – too much rush and not enough creativity. Still a big improvement on last season._____________________________

1st December 2018 at 11:06 am #28666But Brian plan b is working in the league mate. Interesting comments from klopp saying it’s a deliberate tactic this day not to press as teams don’t play football againest us.
Teams that have a go againest us we create more againest them. Spurs and Chelsea being examples. We created a good few real goal scoring chances
We are trying to be stronger defensively and we are much more patient in our build up play.

1st December 2018 at 11:40 am #28668But plan b has become plan A Sean and now you don’t have a plan b.?
Nothing much wrong with Liverpool that a creative midfield player and and an out and out striker wouldn’t solve. Sign Kane and Eriksen and I wouldn’t bet against Liverpool finishing above City then.?

1st December 2018 at 2:09 pm #28671Sean, I think Klopp quite rightly has set his sights on winning the title and realises that playing the high press all season would leave them struggling energy wise at the end of the season.

2nd December 2018 at 11:41 am #28719AnonymousI really don’t like this plan A/plan B talk because it is usually referenced whenever people are thinking if a manager is unable to play any other way than X. The thing about that here is that Klopp has shown that he’s able to play 2 very different style of football, to a very high level. The geggen-pressing system successful to the point that it made waves through the media and footballing world. We were credited with having one of the best attacks in Europe and besides a derby, we were the only team who were capable of beating Man City last season… Doing it 3 times. Geggen-pressing got us to the CL Final, so it was implemented well by our manager.
This term things are completely different. Klopp has us playing a much more reserved style of football. I nearly said “a more defensive style”, or words tot hat effect but it wouldn’t be entirely true to suggest it. We’re not a defensive team but the ‘Rock N Roll’ traits are gone and what we’re left with now is the fewest goals conceded of all the top leagues. With that we’ve seemingly sacrificed our ability to break teams down, or Klopp is still tweaking away on the training pitch until he gets it working to perfection. Of course, he might not be able to do this without getting another 1 or 2 players in. The new lads not working out yet is definitely an issue but I think we’ve seen enough from Klopp over the last 2 years to stop talking about this “no plan B” stuff. I honesty think that Klopp is good enough that given time, he could have his side play any style of football to the highest level.
Now, that said, I don’t think it is valuable to have too many “plans” and to instead work on being as effective as possible with the ones that best suit the talent at hand. You’ll get more from perfecting your best way of playing. Did Fergie have a plan B? I’m not sure he did. He played his way and it was up to the opposition to deal with it. Thinking of him and all the other top managers. I don’t know if there is one who changed his teams style of football from one season to another, in such a dramatic way, while still getting results from them. As hopeless as it may be to be chasing city, don’t forget that we’re in club record breaking territory.
With that it’ll sound like I’m totally satisfied with how things are going. We’re 1 game away from being out of the CL, so no, I’m far from satisfied. We do have some serious problems to deal with but I think the issues are to do with the players rather than the manager. I think the 2 new signings not working out (so far) has been a major surprise to Klopp. Maybe you could suggest that we didnt have a transfer plan B. I would agree with this. I have complained about this before… but this mentality led us to go back in for Van Dijk and refuse to sign a plan B, when the wheels came off that window… So this is a situation that I initially didnt love and now do 😉 .. kinda
Sorry for the wall of text 😉
