Thank the footballing Gods thats over…
Winksy, decent, Toby half-decent, everybody else sent to bed with no supper.
Luckily for us, I think the Greeks just ran out of juice, a fitter team would have beaten us fair and square tonight…

18th September 2019 at 8:23 pm #47715Hey! π This is like a first impression of the Liverpool game last night – Man City!
This reminds me of us with your front 3 though you have KBD and a fresh Riyad.
Come On Blues, don’t let Shaktar rinse you!

18th September 2019 at 8:43 pm #477162-0 and V Good Going.
Makes me think and go back to our glaring observation in not having the Midfields attack-minded striving to support our Front 3. They are industrious and support the Back Line well, but this is a Highlighted area where we haven’t strengthened in my view, or it’s short – feels short alluding to my thoughts yesterday ala Ox and Keita. Lallana too.

18th September 2019 at 8:54 pm #47718AnonymousChucky, what is Poch’s thinking, KWP & Aurier, start either one, but don’t ruin Sanchez’s confidence playing him at RB. I’m in feckin plaster but I still reckon I’d give him a run for his money he’s never within 50 yards of the bloke he’s meant to be marking

18th September 2019 at 9:01 pm #47719Not sure not playing Academy players is just a Pep and City problem though Mikus.
Lots of good points in respect of this from both you and Brian though. Cheers 9’s

18th September 2019 at 9:05 pm #47720Not a great start in the CL from our PL Clubs with 2 defeats and a draw and only City looking like they might get 3 points.
5 games to go though and it’s not irretrievable for any of them .

18th September 2019 at 9:52 pm #47724Without taking anything away from PSG who were really good tonight Zidane is struggling at Real I can see a change happening perhaps before January.

18th September 2019 at 10:13 pm #47726AnonymousI’m only delighted to see them struggling. I’ve so little time for the big 2 in La Liga after years of their carry on both on and off the field.

19th September 2019 at 9:47 am #47734Real are truly fucked,ZZ should have never been re-appointed,and their players are so past their best, its unreal. And they are the 3rd favs for the CL title this year?? Real,Barca,Bayern-they are nothing to fear!
Now,who did Arse and United play in the CL?But Joao Felix, what a joy to watch, just like J.Sancho and Mbappe! Imagine having the 3 of them in your team…..

19th September 2019 at 2:55 pm #47746I need to see this Sancho kid more, have to say every time I’ve seen him (which isn’t that often), I’ve generally been left with the “not getting the hype” thought…
As for Real, I’m certainly in the “not crying about it one little bit” camp!! π
There’s certain clubs, regardless of their historical past and success, that I just love to see have a crisis or two, and they are most certainly on that list!! Arrogant bastards!!

20th September 2019 at 6:20 am #47762Took us way too long to break down Astana who were just camped deep in their own half. But on a positive note, Mason Greenwood, remember the name. Brilliant goalscoring and assists record at youth level and truly 2 footed. No guarantee of him making the grade but one thing’s for sure at Utd, he’ll be given every chance to do so. Great composure with his finish last night. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him starting more in the league now.

20th September 2019 at 6:22 am #47763Just read Real would have to pay Zidane Β£70mil if they sack him. Wow! No wonder he’s not doing very well. I think I’d be making some very questionable decisions at my work if I knew that was the “consequence” of doing so.
Jose back to Real or will Allegri be tempted?

20th September 2019 at 7:06 am #47764Ed, what’s going on with Rashford at the moment? Seems to be a lot of negativity towards him from Utd fans and some saying this kid Greenwood should start in front of him. What’s gone wrong recently?

20th September 2019 at 8:45 am #47768Greenwood looks like he’s going to be a player Ed. As always he needs regular game time there’s every chance he will get that at United although he might need to go out on loan initially which is what City should have done with Foden imo.

20th September 2019 at 10:44 am #47771Think Utd’s questionable transfer window messed up any chance of Greenwood going on loan, they need him.

20th September 2019 at 12:13 pm #47772Regarding Zidane and Real Madrid. Itβs funny, Lucky mentioned the point about the Watford boss being sacked just to paper over the faults with the team so that it looked like the board were βtaking actionβ. And the same looks true for Madrid. They only sacked their last manager in March then somewhat desperately thought that the aura of Zidane would magically lift things, and now it seems theyβre back to square one again. Clubs really are just obsessed with the short term arenβt they? If these clubs were businesses in any other area of life, theyβd be outrage over the sums of money being thrown around for failure. Money that in large part comes from the fans. Could you imagine the protests if they were bankers? But with football most just shrug their shoulders and laugh at it. Strange…
