I think next game, give Foden a rest and play Gordon on the left. The lad has pace to burn and works his bollocks off going in the other direction as well. We need quick players on either wing to run past Kane if he is going to keep coming deep. I love Foden as a player, but it doesn’t work with him out on the left. Can always bring him on and play him central if we need.

Also, drop Trent (feel a bit sorry for him as he is not a midfielder) and play Adam Wharton there. We lack control of games and Wharton alongside Rice will give you this. His range of passing is very good, his ability to get the ball back from the opposition is one of his biggest strengths too. Let’s start playing players in the positions they play for their clubs.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Tugay; Good Shout especially on Gordon! He gave Van Dijk a Nightmare when he was at Everton. You’re right Re Trent; he just doesn’t fit into midfield. This was what I was saying on here about hype. He needs to be taken out and rested.

Germany and Spain are tough tests whoever England face but any team really going into the next phase and quarters can’t take for granted.

Too much talk at the mo and an increase aura of negativity from the media and backward and forward exchanges that is also being twisted.

Not a bad first half to be fair. If anything, credit for England really slogging out their guts to try and get a breakthrough; just not happening though.

Just missing inventory and a little bit of quality on the finishing point. Noticeably without being hard on them, it’s that opener that grows as agonizing than moderate/relaxed normal flow.

Must be watching different games, Nil, I thought Engerland were nothing to shout about at all… should be putting teams like this to bed… I think that was 3 shots on target in 45 minutes, and none of them gave Oblak any trouble whatsoever…

Need some quicker passes and better movement. Gallagher has bags of energy but little else. We need more quality in there, especially as we have the majority of the ball. He is better out of possession.
