Bellingham isn’t a defensive mid though from what I’ve seen. All the games I’ve seen him play in the Bundesligue he’s played in a far more attacking position.
Yeah, Mount is a tough one but it comes down to the formation. Southgate has pretty much committed himself to the 3 CBs and then likes to have three up front. For that you need two defensively minded mids. I just don’t see where Mount fits into that as I don’t think he’s a wide player.I think Mount is far more suited to a 10 role, which Southgate doesn’t tend to play. Otherwise I would sub him out for Sterling.
On Ward-Prowse, I really like him. He’s box to box and a bit different from the other mids in that squad. He’s also quite possibly the best set-piece taker in the world right now and we all know how important set-pieces were at the last WC.
I just don’t see how you can leave Trippier behind, TTA has only decided to start playing in the last month

Chilwell’s performance definitely understated last night. crucial reading Mahrez because he likes to make those runs very close to the byline to either get a shot or a cross in. He was thwarted.

Gives naturally something more to think about before finalizing the squad selection.

Lingard looking like he’s missed out. Unfortunate for him as he’s been brilliant at West Ham. Understandable though, considering the wealth of options in midfield. Greenwood really unfortunate to have to withdraw too.

Looking unlikely TAA will make it. So many options at right back. Crazy to think England probably have the best attacking RB in the league (TAA) and the best defensive RB in the league (AWB) at their disposal but neither are going this summer because they are both a bit suspect going the other way.

Will Jordan Henderson be fit?
