13th September 2023 at 7:25 am #209404I agree with Southgate about maguire. Never seen a player so ridiculed. he should have left utd and try to rebuild his reputation. Did he think he was to good for West Ham? Heβs not going to play for utd. He needs to go down to a team like West Ham etc and find some form as people will continue to take the piss
Heβs had the captaincy taken off, heβs 4th choice at utd and he gets the piss ripped every week. Ridiculous he didnβt move. He wonβt change peoples opinions until he plays good consistently for a while and that wonβt happen at utd

13th September 2023 at 9:05 am #209405If only we showed more ambition to buy Bellingham (I was thinking about this last night). 100 mill in excess yet we put in an impulse and a desperate bid to buy Casceido. The boy did good.
As for Maguire, the guy needs a clean break domestically. He was Tops at Leicester and then was ruined when going to United.

13th September 2023 at 9:15 am #209407Disappointed, and still clear as daylight that the Scots need more quality up the top. No real Talisman. Didn’t really see Che Adams cause England any real problems.
Any remote threat was mainly from the left hand side and Kieran Tierney.
We showed patience, and maturity. Probably now as mentioned in the studio the time to deliver something finally meaningful. Could be 2024.

13th September 2023 at 9:46 am #209409Bellingham is some player, and is still only 20. Crazy. He got some great advice – go to a top team where you will play (Dortmund) rather than Utd where you wouldn’t have started in the first year. Can see him becoming a Madrid legend.
Maguire should have left in the summer. I know he is on big money which other teams won’t match, but I always think it’s a mistake to see the contract out rather than take a paycut. Top player at Leicester, and will boss a defence who sit back and clear their lines. Struggles with a high line and is often made the scapegoat.
Kane took his chance really well, natural finisher.

13th September 2023 at 10:53 am #209410Who invented this high line?! It just catches people out. I don’t personally see the benefits other than aid a press and be relentless towards it. Kyle Walker still has pace and is fast. Some defenders aren’t made for the high line.
I just feel for Maguire to an extent because he needs a good counterpart to be able to command the defensive unit and never really in his career at United been allowed to do so.
