15th November 2019 at 12:36 pm #52928Concur with Mak’s post. What a complete farce. People are going to get hyped up on how good England are now, whilst we’re looking at a jam-packed December involving the domestic. Ah well, only another 7 days to go.

15th November 2019 at 2:29 pm #52952I said it before and I’ll say it again England’s first international football match took place in 1872 long before any of the leading PL Clubs even existed.
International football not just playing for England is important to the vast majority of the top players and suprise surprise these top players in the main were all full internationals before their Clubs signed them.
If anyone can tell me that the joy expressed by Alex Oxlade Chamberlain didn’t matter to him after being out injured and unable to participate in England games for so long or that Tammy Abraham’s first ever goal for England didn’t matter to him couldn’t have seen their reactions to those goals for England last night.
International football and Club football will always exist side by side and moaning about that everytime there is an international break is pointless.

15th November 2019 at 3:02 pm #52970Kosovo away will be a much tougher game for England be interesting to see the team Southgate selects as others have said we’ve got a good group of young players coming through and Southgate is working hard to try and establish a Club atmosphere around the England team.
But England will eventually come face to face with some really big dogs in the Finals and that will be the only measure of England’s progress despite how over the top the media may or may not go leading up to the Finals.

– Football also been around Hundreds Of Years
– Scheduling is The Pits To Put It Mildly And NO EXCUSES FULL STOP
And That’s putting it Bluntly to not having a Weekend Of Football.
Rubbish Days: THURSDAY AND SUNDAY – THURSDAY AND SUNDAY.

15th November 2019 at 11:28 pm #53005“Santi Cazorla scored his first international goal in four years as Spain thrashed Malta to secure top spot in Group F of Euro 2020 qualifying.
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Cazorla, 34, returned to football last year after a career-threatening injury.
He finished a fine move for Spain’s second after ex-Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata prodded in the opener.
Pau Torres, Pablo Sarabia, Dani Olmo, Gerard Moreno and Jesus Navas completed the rout in Cadiz.
Euro 2020 qualifiers: Who needs what?
Torres and Sarabia both scored within minutes of steeping off the bench for their senior Spain debuts.Villarreal’s Torres came on as a substitute in the 60th minute and netted two minutes later, followed by Dinamo Zagreb’s Olmo scoring in the 69th minute, jut three minutes after entering the game.
Cazorla spent almost two years on the sidelines after having eight operations on an ankle injury and then contracting an infection that ate away 8cm of his Achilles tendon.
He underwent a reconstruction of the tendon in 2017, with doctors grafting skin from his left arm to his right ankle.
Despite being told he should be “satisfied” just to walk again, Cazorla made his return for Villarreal in August last year and went on to reclaim a place in the Spain squad five months ago.
His last goal for Spain came in a 2-0 friendly win over England in November 2015.” BBC Football.
Nice story the poor guy has been through hell injury wise.

15th November 2019 at 11:34 pm #53006Finland qualify for the Finals of a major tournament for the first time in their history with Pukki scoring 2 goals to secure their first qualification ever for a Finals.
Fabulous scenes in Helsinki.
Sweden also qualify for next Summer’s Finals with a 2 nil win away to Romania.

17th November 2019 at 6:51 pm #53083Very boring and finally very comfortable in the end… I doubt Pope will ever have an easier 90 minutes than that, I think I could have played goal and kept that clean sheet!

17th November 2019 at 9:05 pm #53091It would be churlish to criticise a win but I thought we were very haphazard, did not control midfield again, sloppy in defending particularly in passing and often passed sideways and backwards. I thought this would have been the game for some of the youngsters to make a mark but against better opposition they would have been rolled over with this kind of performance against a team that was wilting at times and we never took advantage. OK..so I am churlish but still unimpressed

Fantastic atmosphere it seems,no racism, hooligans,or fascist chantings.Brilliant all around! H.Maguire trying to thank Kosovanians in their mother tongue, for an incredible behaviour, was expectedly funny,to say the least.Even the great Lineker was in tears.
