After a very poor run of form and in the last game before the World Cup begins at the very least we need a performance from England at Wembley.

26th September 2022 at 10:01 am #199219Gareth Southgate has named Ivan Toney in his England squad to face Germany on Monday night, but Trent Alexander-Arnold has missed out.
Five players have to be left out of the 23-man matchday squad for the Nations League clash at Wembley โ talkSPORT.
Alexander-Arnold will not be involved against Germany.
Those five are Liverpool defender Alexander-Arnold as well as Fikayo Tomori, Jarrod Bowen, James Ward-Prowse and Jack Grealish, who is suspended.
Alexander-Arnold did not get on the pitch in the 1-0 defeat to Italy, meaning he will have played no part at all over the international break.
The same goes for West Ham forward Bowen, Southampton midfielder Ward-Prose and AC Milan defender Tomori, who were all unused substitutes on Friday.
Grealish came on for the final 19 minutes against Italy after replacing Bukayo Saka, who played at left wing-back, but picked up a booking which rules him out the game at Wembley on Monday night.
Reacting to the team news, Everton winger Andros Townsend told talkSPORT: โItโs obviously a surprise. When you are lacking an attacking threat, obviously Trent Alexander-Arnold is probably one of the best deliverers of the ball in world football.
โThat is a surprise. If Ivan Toney has to be in the squad, then someone has to miss out, unfortunately it sounds like it is Trent this time.
Southgate had tough calls to make on who to leave out his squad to face Germany

26th September 2022 at 8:17 pm #199221Bright start by England. Sterling should have done better twice when through. Forden has to find Kane from the right there too. James and Shaw looking good and giving us good balance each side.

26th September 2022 at 9:14 pm #199223Well that was that. Thought we were the better side for the first hour. 2 shots on target for Germany and 2 goals. Won’t do the confidence much good at all ahead of the World Cup.

26th September 2022 at 10:23 pm #199228Have to say that was a whole lot better compared to last Friday and really lifted my spirits. Unfortunately, we didn’t pull off a win.
I think too in the hotter temperatures, we’d be lagged with the heat and may not have enough in the tank to reinvigorate ourselves to find something in adversity bar substitutions.
I am encouraged, but I also think it’s masked the fact that it was a little push-coming-to-shove and lack of courage from the start given we were on home soil.

27th September 2022 at 5:09 am #199230Don’t I feel like a right Buffy, watched the 2nd one go in (nice finish, you have to admit) and buggered off to Bedfordshire!
Thought Engerland were decent enough up until the first goal, not sure about Pope at all (although a couple of hospital passes to him didn’t help his cause) and can we finally agree about Slaphead? He’s just not on his game and, although loyalty is a good thing, his form absolutely isn’t and hasn’t been for some time.

27th September 2022 at 8:38 am #199233If Harry Maguire doesn’t re-establish himself in the United squad and show some decent form between now and when the squad is announced on the basis of last night there’s unfortunately a mistake in him and I think it would be foolish to take him to Qatar although I think Southgate will whether he’s playing for United or not.

28th September 2022 at 5:36 am #199244RBL are the most hated team in Germany and RBS I’d assume are also in Austria but by heck they have a top notch youth scouting system. You put a team together from their explayers and it would probably be world class. Sesko looks like the next big thing from them.

28th September 2022 at 5:46 am #199245Yeah I can imagine how much they’re disliked Threeps. Around Salzburg, they’ve even been saying he’s better than Haaland. His goals record so far suggests that’s a bit too early to claim but he bossed the game against Norway and that goal last night was a thing of beauty. Big future for the kid.
