Arsenal losing at home and looking like they’re heading out. City struggling to score for once and Utd looking very comfortable away from home. Lingard with a couple of very nice goals

24th October 2017 at 10:02 pm #6592Huge win for them that Nine. I hope they get a decent draw in the next round. City still plugging away. The young Wolves striker had a brilliant chance to win it right at the end of the 90 bit Bravo just did enough. Otherwise, all City

25th October 2017 at 8:09 pm #6616Lovely jubbly… and a true definition of carving a team open, about 4 touches between 3 player end to end and in the onion basket….

25th October 2017 at 8:52 pm #6617The Spud vs Spam game is a bit of a picnic, Spuds in complete control, Spammers playing like a pub team… got a pre-season feel to it in a half-empty stadium… sorely tempted to just go to bed!

26th October 2017 at 8:31 am #6629I knew we might be in trouble when Noble went all Scrappy-Doo over the “throw-in” when Son went down with all the Spuds players kinda just laughing when the score was 2-0, you could see then only one team was fired up for it and it wasn’t us Spuds. I thought then if Spammers got the next goal we could be in for a game… hopefully this will be the kick up the Harris us Spuds need, stopping us from getting just a little bit too cocky with the last few results prior to last night.
Got to say fair play to the Spammers, deserved it 100%, but if I was a fan I would be wondering (after my hungover has gone down from winning a Cup-Final 🙂 ), why they don’t play like that more often!

26th October 2017 at 8:48 am #6630I had Spurs down as favourites to win the League Cup this sewson, domestic Cup’s remain Spurs most winnable trophies currently and to turn promise into reality Spurs need to start winning trophies soon.
It was a good game though and you would have got long odds at ht on West Ham turning that game around. But as the great Jimmy Greaves used to say “it’s a funny old game Saint”. ?
Lot’s of top sides left in the competition and the draw today could throw up some tasty ties.

26th October 2017 at 9:03 am #6631Really was a game of two half’s… 🙂
Not going to disagree with what you say Goldie, but I reckon 7 changes from last Sunday in view of this Saturday’s match would indicate how “seriously” the boys at the Lane are taking this particular competition. (Not saying it’s my view mind you!).

26th October 2017 at 9:05 am #6632Anonymouswas only a matter of time before 999 brought his overused quote to the table!
on another note, very disappointed in poch and the players. i didnt see the game but poch seems to have developed an arrogance about him, thinking domestic trophies arent important enough for him or the squad. the players let themselves down as well. terrible mindset to have when we havent won a trophy since 2008, and a trophy is exactly what this group of players needs. coming out before the game saying its not big enough is ridiculous. if we were a chelsea, man u or man city i could kind of accept it but i’d still be disappointed. so far poch has nothing to show for the work he and the squad have put in the last few years and that trophy drought is now likely to continue.

26th October 2017 at 9:34 am #6634I wouldn’t blame Poncho for the performance too much, the boys controlled the game in the first half, and then fell asleep in the 2nd, no matter how much he shouted… not going to comment on his “worth it?” comments though.

26th October 2017 at 9:59 am #6637Paxton, it’s a classic quote from a legend of the game and imo fitted yesterday’s turnaround perfectly.

26th October 2017 at 10:03 am #6638banjo, that’s the problem mate you’ll never see good performances with all the changes all clubs make in this competition. It doesn’t seem to get serious until the Qtr Finals/Semi Finals.

26th October 2017 at 10:21 am #6639Not wrong mate, we had it in the bag and chucky-chucked-chucked it all away… and not just last night, but I’ve been very disappointed with Llrontte too this season, a nice little flick for the first goal but that was about it, he seems about as useful as Janssen was last year, mighy as well kept Janssen to see if there was any future…
At the end of the day, a bit annoyed, mainly from the shitty performance in the 2nd half, struggling to remember a half of footy that bad from the Spuds, it’s been a while for sure.
