If you we step back away and rewind ourselves before the ‘Neymar effect’, I probably would have valued Coutinho anything from 50-to-70 mill. Even then, I would have thought ‘wow’. So based on that, we’d still be gaining something overwhelming if sold say a year after. It all depends on a many factors though.

23rd August 2017 at 5:48 pm #4141More comments attributed to Coutinho tonight about wanting out. How credible these comments are both wth regards to staying and going is questionable as they are all are from 3rd parties and not from Coutinho himself.
The big question which no one can answer is if Coutinho doesn’t get what is a dream move for him what Coutinho will Liverpool get this season.
Interesting point from Standard journalist Tony Evans who is also a Liverpool fan in his interview on Talksport today saying that FSG have backed themselves into a corner by saying Coutinho won’t be sold no matter what the offer and it’s difficult for FSG to back track on that, which is why Evans suggests it won’t happen even at £138m.

23rd August 2017 at 5:56 pm #41439,nine,nein… if that’s the case then you would possibly suspect FSG and Barca have been on the blower with each other…..” you keep offering, we’ll keep rejecting, then you can tell your mugs you tried, we can tell our mugs we stood firm!”
HH… I was thinking more along the lines of 138m in player value this year, will be about 250m next year in player value when the “Neymar Effect” wears out (nice one NB!).

23rd August 2017 at 6:11 pm #4145Ha, ha quite possibly banjo. The Neymar fee has elevated fees to a ridiculous level I think new balance is probably right previously £70m would have been considered top whack for Coutinho and the current Barca offer of £138m is all but twice that.
If Coutinho doesn’t go this summer he will probably go next summer but will the transfer market be as high as it is now?

23rd August 2017 at 6:20 pm #4148Before Naymer, I would have agreed, certainly no more than Pogba but the Naymer effect has just warped the market to a speed Scotty would be proud of.
Like I offered my favourite insect molester, I have a Mars Bars for anyone who reckons they’ll get that next year.

24th August 2017 at 2:12 am #4166IMO it is just too late to sell him now. He needs to be a professional and get on with it.
I also think the money is irrelevant, and yes if Coutinho goes next summer for less that is fine, as we would hopefully have pulled more out of him anyway. Will be interesting to see if he still wants to go if Liverpool have a good season and Barcelona does not. (Which signs are pointing to)
As to the manner in which Barcelona have conducted themselves. Has anyone else noted the spat going on between them and Neymar, and how every club is telling them to get stuffed?
