13th May 2020 at 4:31 pm #112246Nine, like you miss the family, particularly our new Great Grandson bu they are all special to us
The positive/negative thing I do not think about too much, I guess I always have a feeling it will work out, so I guess I lean towards the positive side. I do like the overview though and like different posters have done on here recently given a good account on how they see things and who is to say they are wrong, OK or right. Football appears to be the point of concern, forget sport…think football..this is a football forum. I am like others my interest in football has wained, I guess it will creep back as we get started again but it will certainly not rush back. I have found other interest and things to occupy myself with which I am enjoying. I am not much on to watching TV, in fact, I think I am watching less. Just do not worry folks, Christmas shopping will be upon us soon!!!!_____________________________

13th May 2020 at 7:22 pm #112248They now say that in England the police cannot enforce social distancing ….so who will?
People will get abuse from the dross who care little but how can you say maintain social distance in a contact professional sport? You cant hug your grandchildren …which I understand but then we will be watching a football match totally ignoring social distancing.
Also and it has to be said, a huge number of players are black/mixed race of whom the stats indicate are more likely to be hit hard and should be taken out of the front line.
For us…Walker, Mendy, Fernandinho, Sane, Sterling, Jesus…to name but a few. I havent seen this discussed. Has anybody?_____________________________

13th May 2020 at 7:50 pm #112251Adlab, you know the reason why ethnic minorities are hit harder right? It’s to do with their on average lower socioeconomic level. It’s not that the virus targets people of dark skin specifically. And players usually fair pretty well when it come to quality of life so I don’t think it’s something to be too concerned about.

14th May 2020 at 10:38 am #112255So, it seems the powers that be want to kick of the new “mini-season” with the biggest club in England vs YooUtd, another quite decent size club. Could be worse I suppose. Mind you, expecting an upset with a YooUtd win.
Joking aside, win or bust for Top 4 for my boys!! Win and we’re in, lose and it’s mid-wekk lockdowns all season.

14th May 2020 at 11:53 am #112260I was no expecting or it needed an apology Sean. I think we all want this to finish, the problem I think is accepting it will not end anytime soon and therefore have to plan your life accordingly. No Govt. anywhere, will get it 100% right that status is reserved for the media!!!!!!!

14th May 2020 at 11:59 am #112261Yesterday I , like other seas-card holders of City received a letter explaining what was happening with the unfinished season cards and plans for next season still waiting confirmation. We then had the option to get credit for the matches not played or credit your account ready for next season.
I thought it was a well laid out letter. At least they have taken the initiative and kept the City fans aware of what to do._____________________________

14th May 2020 at 12:04 pm #112262I should add, that Have made my decision, because of my age it is likely that restrictions will go on for us geriatrics longer, I suspect maybe into 2021 and because there will be a increased number of evening matches, this makes it hard for me. City are 125 yrs old and it is hard to believe I have watched them for 75 of those years. I do intend to treat myself occasionally and push the boat out and get a ticket/meal package when they are available. Of course I will always be “City til I die” I have notified the club accordingly

14th May 2020 at 12:29 pm #112264Sorry to hear that Brian none of us can match your fantastic support for your Club over so many years and I’m really pleased for you that you got to see City rise to new heights before you had to take the decision to give up your season ticket.
Hopefully you’ll still be able to get to a match or two when this is all over. Cheers 9’s

14th May 2020 at 12:32 pm #112266Not yet, Goosey Lucy, not yet… pretending to still be at work although the fall-off is getting a bit worrying now. Luckily I closed out a biggish order yesterday so our little internal face-book page thingy nonsnese is full of people saying “Good Job Banjo” and all that…
Normally gets a bit quiet this time of year (I tend to deal with the ME region) due to a combination of Ramadan and Summer weather getting really warm, but it’s taken the biscuit this year. I’m sort rationing my work so I have something to do tomorrow… never been that bad in the 9 years I’ve been doing this malarky.

14th May 2020 at 6:39 pm #112273From the BBC, particularly like the bit about finances from the resumption to support the wider football family, from a culture of greed is god
βThe government is “opening the door” for the return of professional football in England in June, the culture secretary has said.
Oliver Dowden said Thursday’s meeting with the Football Association, Premier League and English Football League was “positive” and “progressed plans” for the sport to resume.
He added that plans should “include widening access for fans to view live coverage and ensure finances from the game’s resumption supports the wider football family”.
