13th May 2020 at 10:31 am #112187Adlab, easy, zonal marking, defenders stand 3.5m apart, forwards cannot then move into the space without breaking social distancing rules…..Pagan

13th May 2020 at 10:31 am #112188Never had a flu jab in my life, in fact never had the flu in my life lucky me but now I am being told that when I can finally visit the old man I must have had a flu jab and sign a declaration that I have done so. Guess I have no choice. Still baffled by it all.

13th May 2020 at 10:45 am #112189Finish the season on FIFA …get the 2 best E Sports players to play for each club, manager picks the team as usual and venues stay the same, full 90 minutes and then televise each game….sorted π
frankly im very surprised sports channels havent moved to an EESPORT thing as this would be the perfect time…..

13th May 2020 at 10:46 am #112190Many thanks nine. All good here mate. Totally agree about how we ease bsck into society mate and there really is no wrong and right as it dies seem some countries are getting hit again. But at some stage we have to get back living a bit of a normal
Life. Be sensible. If any symptoms , isolate. Wash your hands, wear masks , keep the distance. Use common sense to try and get back to some kind of normal. Much easier said then done but the virus is going no where and we have to move forward_____________________________

13th May 2020 at 10:56 am #112191Threeps, is the German footy Defo bsck Saturday mate? Be interesting to see how it goes on
The only solution I can see is to finish the season and if that means disrupting next season then so be.
If itβs done on sporting merit or other ways then it here is going to be absolute uproar. Law suits everywhere. Itβs totally unfair on clubs fighting for survival or cl etc
Lyon are already sueing as they were one point outside a cl spot. Itβs just going to get very nasty.
Pagan, said liveroool being awarded the league is not the same as winning it. I agreed at the time but the only fans who would question it would be fans who want to see liveroool fail
We are 25 points clear. We need 2 wins. We have dropped for points all season. The note I think of it, Iβm fine if we are declared champions. It be in the history books as number 19. People can question it but that would be just sour grapes
Still, Liverpool can not be awarded the league unless cl places and relegation, promotion all happens aswell
Thatβs why I think the only logical thing is to play out the season whenever that is
I donβt think it will be June. Decision should have been made by now. The world needs football back. We have to move on.

13th May 2020 at 11:10 am #112193Sean I’ve not heard anything different. In fact just read that the next two weeks will be free on TV, with their around the grounds conference thing. Doubt it would work outside Germany but if you have an ISP try https://sport.sky.de/sky-sport-news-hd?aw=true this weekend.
I look at this whole tainted title thing with a smile on my face.
Liverpool 2019/2020 Champions*
*title pretty much won by December.
Agree with everything else you wrote Sean. We need to move on in all aspects of life but done in as safe a manner as we can.

13th May 2020 at 11:19 am #112196Players are being given a 40 page protocol document today if it’s that complicated for the players to get up and running again it makes you wonder.
Personally I think if we restart the PL in June we still probably won’t finish it but if the Club’s and players agree to restart and the Government guidelines are met then we will probably restart in June or July.

13th May 2020 at 11:27 am #112198To help people move on Paxton. Itβs a huge positive thing in many peoples lives. Sport is huge. Itβs a positive thing that brings happiness to people. Mental health is becoming an issues and football is a huge outlet for millions of people .
Iβm positive. All I hear is negative rubbish mate. All about going back and nothing about pushing forward. Football, sport is pushing forward. Itβs a major bright spark in a world that is filled with gloom at the minute.
The works needs bars, restaurants etc and a whole lot of other things aswell
Whatβs your opinion on all this? Keep going the way we are and hope for a vaccine or try and move forward and learn to live with the disease?

13th May 2020 at 11:35 am #112201Anonymousbut surely stopping people dying is more important? i am very excited for football to return but at the same time I realise i don’t need it right now, or ever for that matter. i get that it is less important to me than it is to others but there are so many more important things. I think people have to accept that right now we are not in a position to move on and there is no way football will be returning any time soon. to bring it back and put lives at risk just to put a smile on peoples faces for a few minutes is reckless and dangerous. we are only a few weeks in to this pandemic and i hate to be the one to say this, but its gonna go on for a lot longer.

13th May 2020 at 11:44 am #112202Paxton, I agree it looks like it will go on for a lot longer, but returning to football doesn’t mean recklessness. We need to make steps to return in many aspects but do so as safely as we can. This can mean football, going to the cinema, the gym, making holidays. All in the grand scheme of things are not that important but to an individual they are. Sean rightly mentions mental health issues and returning to the normal things we like will help massively. And then you have the economy, if things don’t move on and you remain shut down then you’ll find far more people dying and for a longer time than what the virus caused.

13th May 2020 at 12:00 pm #112203Anonymousi understand the negatives surrounding keeping things shut down but starting things again just for the sake of peoples happiness without taking the proper precautions is reckless. people don’t need football. they don’t need the cinema. the don’t need the gym. they don’t need holidays. these things are luxuries that they have become accustomed to. i agree there are serious implications on the economy that need to be looked in to as a matter of urgency but the entertainment industry should not be a priority. competitive sport will be using huge resources that could be put to better use elsewhere whilst putting a large number of people at risk. lets say all premier league and football league games go ahead. you will probably need a minimum of 100 people at each game maybe? that’s 4,600 being put at risk for every set of fixtures. then add in the extended circle of people being put at risk. the economy wont exactly receive a huge boost as there will be no fans in attendance. majority of people involved are already working – players, coaches, managers, physio, police, broadcasters etc. i get that people want it bac its just not the right time.

13th May 2020 at 12:02 pm #112204Paxton…I am of a similar view, however, we need two things to happen
1. To try and get back some positives in our lives
2. I would like the media, whoever they are, to stop being Bias (yes BBC I mean you) and print at least 50% good news. That will at least make us feel better instead of all the doom and gloomFifa, Uefa FA are impotent because respective Govt. put the rules down which they have to adhere to, what we have though, is self interested parties like TV, Betting companies putting pressure on all sides until they get what they want.
I am surprised our Police Chiefs have agreed in principal for the game to start being closed doors, I just wonder, how many police they have allocated for the job and who will be picking up the cost. Make no mistake, there will be thousands outside some grounds, no social distancing. The police will probably throw a cordon around the ground but the fact they have to do this makes it a nonsense, so why did they agree to it?When we have some measure of control of the situation then think about sport, not yet though, too soon
Threeps…like I said earlier, the media have a lot to answer for, instead of being our medicine they are being our illness. They are more than capable of doing better and giving better quality reporting and balanced objective reporting it would help….but good news never sells does it

13th May 2020 at 12:03 pm #112205The “mental health” issue is an interesting one (if that’s the right term!). I don’t think anybody, certainly nobody who frequents this site, is suggesting football comes back not matter what (I’m certainly not), but I’ve no problem admitting it has left a bit of a hole in my weekly things to do, as does going to the cinema, the pub, the swimming pool for some laps, even just arsing about at a shopping center with the nipper… hell, even just going for a bike-ride and some ice-cream. All no-no’s now!
I know things could be a lot worse, and thankfully I’m very lucky nobody close to me has been affected (as in catching the bloody thing, we’ve all been “affected”) but I am going a little bit crazy being stuck at home all the time. There’s only so much you can do to keep yourself amused. As is, I’m having daily arguments with the nipper about the amount of time she spends on a sodding screen and it certainly doesn’t help when Mummy & Daddy have there’s glued to their work comps for 8 hours a day. I’m sure I’m not the only parent with this “issue”. π

13th May 2020 at 12:11 pm #112208Sean…the only thing I would say about the world needing football/sport is, I would have thought the only thing the man/wpman in the street should be concerned about is when there job starts again and if it does not, what are they doing to find a planB in case worst case scenario happens. I would put all my effort into that aspect, any sport would be bottom of list because it is not essential. As a country we need to get our Manufacturing base back for the future, including real apprentership courses
