The way things are going its very difficult to see this season continuing even next season is in doubt but should they go ahead it will be behind closed doors. Best solution for current season is still to award everything as the league stands now but with no relegation.

Despite all of the problems and today there are reports that circa 50 PL players don’t want to play the remaining 9 games due to Corona virus there remains a desperation to get it on.

There is no easy way to settle the issues in the PL if it doesn’t happen it would grossly unfair imo to deny Liverpool the title given their enormous lead and it would also be grossly unfair to relegate Bournemouth on goal difference of one goal.

If the PL doesn’t restart I’m glad I’m not the one making the decisions.

So, as I understand it at the moment the FA
1. Want to start games behind closed doors
2 They want staff and players to sign a disclaimer against them (Great way to negotiate)
3 No mention of how THEY will handle fans who turn up….and they will…
4.No mention of how they will actually protect staff and players

An effective plan is not durable or affordable to clubs until we get significant improvement to the real problem of solving the problem. For clubs to try and circumnavigate this shows how much they are driven by TV, sponsors, neither could care less of the nations plight

The solution, in my view, is stop the fruitless planning and scapulas last season. Plan for a new start up, although I believe that will be 2021 before we see full grounds

I give up on the subject after this, too many interest and energies in getting football started when more is required in society

Brian-Spot on,we have just been give the official news here @ WHO,that there are alarming increases in S.Korea,of new cases as well as people becoming ill for the 2nd time,and children showing symptoms never seen before.Fook football/sport,focus on peoples health.

I’m not sure UEFA, The FA and The Premier League have totally grasped the situation, either that our they have a distorted and self important view of the status of football in peoples lives.

For those fans that went home and away every game, yes it’s a big void in their lives, but in perspective, health, family, a home, job etc come way above footy, and to be honest for me it’s way below having to queue up to get in a shop or not being able to go out with the family for a beer or a meal…..Pagan

Mav and Pagan….well stated. I am glad I am not alone in my desire to see the game return, but, only after everything else has been put before it in priorities. I have a long history as a football fan, love the game but it comes a poor second when i miss my family so much more. You are right also the FA, UEFA etc have completely misunderstood or have complete lack of knowledge of what is at stake.They are playing with peoples lives, if they are confident, why do they want disclaimers in force….just a cover up for protection against liability. make no mistake, I would not be surprised if they did not ask fans to sign one as well..My message to them…Get your priorities right.

Pagan, Brian I entirely agree.
Who really is going to take any real notice of a competition where the rules change part way through? Not me.
Harsh on Liverpool fans I know but this Project Restart is so full of potential problems it is plain stupid.
Professional sport should only restart when WE the punters feel its right and that is when the virus is under some sort of control, people are largely back to work and there is proper control over the vulnerable in care homes. Ithink the NEW season can restart in September/October subject to medical agreement and not the EPL or FA or UEFA.

Dynamo Dresden, who play in the second tier of German Football, have put their entire squad and coaching staff into two-week isolation after two players tested positive for coronavirus.

The Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 are due to restart on Saturday, 16 May.

It is set to be the first European league to restart following the coronavirus shutdown.

“The fact is that we can neither train nor participate in a game in the next 14 days,” said Dynamo.
