The simple logic to all this is, while people still die no football. If they want to put an arbitrary date, Sept 3 OK but that means they have to start training in August and just let us forget last season, the table stands, tough on the losers but more important issues to be solved than football leagues The clamour for it to start again comes from commercial pressures not so much from fans , who would also find it hard to pay for a ticket at the moment , I assume.

I wonder what would happen if say, Mane, DeBruyne, Rashford etc etc stated they did not want to play due to risk or morality involved? I assume it would not be enforceable for them to play. My guess would be there would be good number of players not wanting to play until it was medically safe and who will stick there neck out and say that , for sure? Clubs should also pay 100% of all added cost and cover for essential services being used. Better still make the TV and betteing companies pay on top of that, after all they will be the only ones getting financial gain out of it

If there was no money involved would they even think of trying to play? Clearly no. So what sort of morality is that?
At this point there are well upwards of 25,000 people who have died with more every day. I cannot even go to a bookshop and there how many would go at any one time? 5,6? And yet to put on a match would require hundreds.

Mav.. Take it with a pinch of salt as its the sun, but I guess the way clubs structure deals means they can potentially no longer afford to make repayments? Anyone with a better idea of deals care to elaborate why clubs of Barcelona cannot afford to keep players?
I guess CFC and other clubs using home grown talent will be the beneficiaries of a move away from mega transfers. Will it also kill super agents or are they the nuclear proof cockroaches?

I doubt Barca would do that, although they probably know they need fresh injection, so it will mean a number of “outs”. I think other clubs will be doing it but because they have no option. This is the time when the Financial rules need to be scrapped and re worked into sensible format to view the changes that will now happen to football. However, my concern would be the present regime are incapable of thinking outside the box they are in and the result will end up the same with a new title, which some PR has dreamed up and made a fortune. I still do not know what was wrong with Div1/2/3/4 which follows the new financial rip off NAMEING RIGHTS …which brings me to Universities….I know they are always asking for more money so why are they spending on Ground names and Advertising at football ground, again…more money channeling business. I think almost any player is gettable anywhere if someone offers the right money but even the richest Clubs won’t spend silly money in this Summers transfer market whenever that will be.
Barca are looking at who they might sign in the Summer window to strengthen their team and in order to do that they might need to move certain players on I don’t think they will be alone with that strategy in the next transfer window.
I don’t think UEFA will scrap FFP I don’t think either UEFA or the ECA will want to do that.
I suspect though that UEFA will take into account the special circumstances of this season with the lack of revenues due to the Pandemic and that there will be sensible allowances made for the loss of revenues this season in all Club’s end of fy accounts.
That won’t mean that Clubs will be able to spend whatever they want on transfers this Summer and hide behind the Pandemic.
