That was interesting Nine, you were probably in Japan the same time as me at times, I also made frequent visits, It ia the one country I felt safe in when on my travels and the people most helpful, never a lover of the diet except for Kobe meat but that was expensive. The railway system was fantastic, clean punctual and comfortable.

Brian, funny story about the Railway system and the punctuality and accuracy of Japan. I was due to meet a Japanese colleague outside the Station opposite my Hotel in Tokyo. He told me to meet him at 9:03am which I thought was a bit odd but sure enough he arrived at exactly at 9:03am he knew his train would never be late and hot in at 9:00am and that it would take him 3 minutes to walk from the platform he arrived on to the Station entrance.?

The food did take a bit of time to get used to especially Japanese breakfasts I found they were best avoided but over time I got to very much like Japanese food as you rightly said Kobe beef in Teppanyaki, Tempura, and Sushi and Shabu Shabu were my favourites but hand on heart when I was left to my own devices I ate Western food.?

I remember my first visit to Japan and a meeting at one of the Sony’s factories at lunchtime on my first ever visit to Japan we all went to the staff canteen and there were already about 1,000 people sucking up noodles and the noise was incredible.?

Tokyo is one of my favourite Cities of anywhere in the World so dynamic great shopping and totally safe day or night and some brilliant music venues too Motown, Country and Western and a Beatles Bar were some of my favourite haunts on my down time and I took in some J League football too which was interesting and then of course there was Karaoke.?

We may well been in a bar or restaurant together Brian and we never realised it.Cheers 9’s

Moos, anyone could step outside of their house tomorrow and get knocked down and killed don’t let fear get in the way of seeing the world and certainly visit Japan if you ever get the chance.

The tsunami was terrible but at that level of destruction it was a very very isolated incident, earthquakes in Japan do occur fairly regularly but are very seldom life threatening and the buildings especially the Hotels are all earthquake proof. I experienced one myself in the early hours of the morning in my Hotel room and whilst it was a little bit scary I was perfectly safe in a earthquake proofed Hotel.

Japan is a very different country for all sorts of reasons and the differences between the capital city of Tokyo and the original capital city of Kyoto are dramatic, the seasons can be beautiful particularly Cheery Blossom season the mountains of Hakone spectacular and the Spa Resorts and Spa Hotels a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I’m sounding like the Japanese Tourist Board now?but honestly mate if you get a chance to go take it it’s a very different but special country . Cheers 9’s

Nine…do they know something the Govt or WHO or Health organisations don’t? Very specific date

My guess is they do not, so, they want to do something then pass the blame to somebody else when it goes wrong. This is planning ahead without having evidence that the health of nations are the priority not when football kicks off. Have they not learned anything. I suggest that bunch of “has beens” go and work in a Hospital for a week or two to get a reality check
