21st April 2020 at 3:23 pm #96507I filled up 4 weeks ago, For short journeys I do about 15mpg and still over half full. Not spent at least Β£100 that normally would have spent on fuel.

21st April 2020 at 3:48 pm #96519In regards to the timing of the lockdown, if theyβd done it a couple of weeks or so earlier and weβd only seen a very small fraction of infections and deaths there would be far greater pressure to go back to normality and I suspect less willingness to abide by the rules. It may sound harsh, but there needs to be an element of fear to make a lockdown work….Pagan

21st April 2020 at 5:00 pm #96552“Arsenal have confirmed an agreement has been reached with Mikel Artetaβs first-team squad and coaching staff over a voluntary pay cut. A 12.5 per cent reduction in annual earnings will come into effect this month once contractual paperwork has been completed. It brings an end to long-running talks between club chiefs and players over the financial issue caused by the coronavirus crisis.” Daily Express 21/04

21st April 2020 at 9:05 pm #96661“The Dutch government has confirmed that all licensed events have been banned until the 1st of September. It will now be impossible for the KNVB to finish the Dutch football season.
Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte held a press conference on Tuesday evening and announced that the banning of all licensed events had been extended to September 1st. They had previously been banned until June 1st.
This means it is almost certainly now impossible for the KNVB to finish the Eredivisie or Keueken Kampioen Divisie seasons. The games cannot be played without fans, as it will still require police to be present.
The mayors of major cities had already stated their intentions to stop any football being played again before September, but it has now been confirmed by the government.
The KNVB will now have to assess the situation and make a statement on what that means for the clubβs.”

22nd April 2020 at 11:05 am #97002Rumor #1 for the day: WHO have told FIFA no footy unitl 2021….
Rumor #2 for the day: Next seasons Euro spots are likely to be based on co-efficiants, which would mean the Goonies in 9th would actually qualify…

22nd April 2020 at 12:14 pm #97029Chucky,Co efficients are one of the ways that UEFA are looking at for qualification for the Euro spots assuming the season isn’t completed.
There are drawbacks with all the solutions if there is European football next season which is still open to conjecture as per your first point? If the PL doesn’t get completed and Liverpool are rightly awarded the PL title it will be difficult decide all the other issues in a completely different way imo.
If European football were to go ahead next season though given the amount of money involved I can see law suits flying around whichever route UEFA take.
All pie in the Sky though currently.

22nd April 2020 at 12:27 pm #97035I did start both with “Rumor”… π
Tell you one the though, if the Goonies qualify despite being 9th then I’m doing my best Special K impression and suggest the game has no integrity left and scream and scream unitl I make myself sick.
(Just bantz, Special K, just bantz!)

22nd April 2020 at 12:29 pm #97037Anyway, really don’t undestand how the Goonies would be above the Spuds, we’ve qualified 3/4 years in a row, including last years final, and they bloody haven’t…

22nd April 2020 at 12:48 pm #97046Chucky, I’m sure the use of co efficients has been discussed as one of the ways to settle European qualification if Leagues can’t complete their seasons.
It is one of the ways as is taking this season’s placings, averaging the points out to the end of the season based on the games already played or using last season’s placings.
All of them are problematical and UEFA would have to choose the least problematical if there is indeed going to be CL and EL football next season.

22nd April 2020 at 12:55 pm #97049The Euro thing was based on everybody who’s qualified/performance over the last few years, not this seasons results in the League, which would make the Goon Show qualifying very wierd.

22nd April 2020 at 1:13 pm #97052Well theyβre not going to ban teams from leagues that donβt complete their relevant seasons, the top teams would have a conference call and set up a European Super League.

22nd April 2020 at 2:56 pm #97065Chucky, UEFA coefficients are worked out over the last 5 seasons in Europe it’s historical up to and including the 2018/19 season.
It’s just one way to decide who qualifies and in what competitions if the Season isn’t completed but using coefficients effectively null and voids the season for a number of Clubs including Leicester City and Sheffield United and I don’t think you can cherry pick whose season is null and voided if coefficients were used then null and voiding the season would have to apply to all Clubs results which would be massively unfair on Liverpool.
Obviously the desire is to play the season out IF possible the reality is though as with everything else who knows not even UEFA currently.?

Probably the first of many Mav and from much further up the food chain too and tragically they just need the value of a top PL players weekly wage to be safe.
