Problem is Sean a lot of the s***e is coming from UEFA, the PL, and the EFL.
UEFA are planned by to announce next week the culmination of this Season’s CL and EL in August even leaving all of the EL games out there’s 4 round of 16 games to be played 16 Qtr Final games to be played 8 Semi Final games to be played and the CL Final to be played add to that goodness knows how many EL games that remain to be played in August that all looks completely unachievable to me.
As do the PL and EFL’s plans to complete the League season there are now even EFL teams saying they will boycott the remaining games and they have 600 players out of contract on June 30th too.
They need to call the season now, cancel this season and next seasons domestic Cups as well as the CL and EL across both seasons and all cross their fingers that things have sufficiently improved enough to restart football sometime from October onwards and even that looks very optimistic currently and if it’s 2021 or later so be it.
Football is in a real mess currently and Clubs are likely to go to the wall but trying to force football through to try and complete the season whilst there are so many new cases every day, whilst so many are still dying every day, whilst nobody is on top of this pandemic and whilst there is no vaccine feels so so wrong to me.

19th April 2020 at 11:13 am #96235Very easy to criticise Matt Hancock but he’s got one hell of a task on his hands, as for broken promises are concerned he set a target for 100,000 testing kits by the end of the month that wasn’t a promise it was a target and he admitted at the time it would be a very tough target to achieve.
I’m not saying he’s got everything right but the bloke is working his nuts off and has gone down with Coronavirus too.

19th April 2020 at 11:15 am #96236Ye but the stories are changing every week nine.
I’ve stopped reading about it.
The pl haven’t said anything that we don’t already know.
Football is suspended indefinitely. We all know that. People reading different dates for football To start back when they have no idea
People going on about how long teams need a pre-season etc lol no one knows.
Journalists talking rubbish. Dates changing constantly
No one knows. Not even UEFA who haven’t a clue when tvis will stop.
What if they cancel the season and we are not ready for football till January?
Stat a new season then? Suspend the euros again?
No one knows when this will end. How many tines have people said we have till June the 30th? No one knows mate.
I’ve said my piece on it but it’s constantly brought up on here. It’s boring now as no one has any idea

19th April 2020 at 11:22 am #96237He’s a fucking idiot nine. It’s easy to defend him.
The frontline staff are working their balls off over here for fuck all money.
He’s working his nuts off for a massive salary. Why hasnt he taken a pay cut when he’s telling footballers to?
AnywY that’s all I’ve to say. Have a great Sunday

19th April 2020 at 11:33 am #96241Waspy-Vaccine is the only way out of this mate, unless Governments worldwide decide that developing an immune mechanism is the only way forward, decide to take our chance where millions will die but the rest who survive will build an immunity towards the virus, is the best way.Its a very sad situation politicians find themselves in right now,but that decision will have to be made sooner rather than later as the economy cannot take much longer-and in the long term this lockdown will cause more harm & destruction than the virus itself!

19th April 2020 at 11:35 am #96243Actually it’s probably far easier to attack Hancock than defend him.?
The point on footballers taking a pay cut came out of a question on Question Time on BBC1 when a viewer asked whether it was right for Spurs to furlough their staff whilst their players were earning what they do.
Tbh I can’t see anything wrong with Hancock saying the players should help the staff not the tax payer.
There’s no doubt the front line staff are heroes no matter which country they are fighting this dreadful disease in and that they deserve more.

19th April 2020 at 11:44 am #96244And then there is Victoria Beckham. Spend £100,000 on the birthday of a spoilt brat and then furlough her staff (admittedly of a loss making business) and let us pay when they have millions. These sort of people make me sick.

19th April 2020 at 1:43 pm #96245The UK is a country where we want to be paid well and yet buy goods cheaply, hence we’re no longer a bulk manufacturer. We rely on imports from developing countries who have cheap labour. As we’re seeing now, we have become reliant on them, and to get the things we want we’re having to compete financially for them, factor in the fact that the countries that are manufacturing the products also require them, procurement becomes very difficult.
For the past 30 years plus, as a county we’ve gone down the education, education, education road, where the younger generation don’t want to get their hands dirty, well karma’s a bitch ain’t it.
As a country we’ll pull through, because that’s what we do, hopefully when this settles down the manufacturing industry will have a resurgence…..Pagan

19th April 2020 at 3:01 pm #96246Great sentiment Peggy, but it will never happen cyber chum! You’ll get the odd one or two, sure, just like you’ll always get the occasional new manufacturing business set-up, but as soon as it becomes clear that the “product” is a goer, the bean-counters involved will ship it overseas to maximise profits, because if they don’t do it somebody will do it for them and “knock them off!”

19th April 2020 at 3:24 pm #96247Agree with sexy Kylie,its much cheaper to pay a labourer $200 a month,say in China,India,Bangladesh,Vietnam,etc,than to pay £15 an hour in the UK,USA,etc.

19th April 2020 at 4:46 pm #96251Personally I think footballers are just an easy target for hancock and his cronies. Sure, they should be contributing but very many of them are already. Professions like film stars, rock and pop stars, TV presenters and moguls (Simon Cowell?) seem to have escaped the attack from Hancock. Now again, some of them or even many of them maybe are contributing to charities but so are football players. And even in Hancock’s own party, someone like Reees-Mogg is apparently worth £150m. If we somehow believe we have a right to know if players are pulling their weight, then surely we do about Rees-Mogg as well. At Liverpool, I know Robertson, Trent, Salah, Mane, VVD, and obviously Hendo have done good charitable acts in the last few weeks, and I’m sure it’s the same at every club.
Players are a soft target because they are overpaid and do a job we would all love to be doing, but don’t pander to the fashionable football bashing sport beloved by politicians and the gutter press! Many footballers care about their communities, either where they are now, or where they are from originally. Ask questions about Rees-Mogg, Murdoch, Branson, FTSE 100 CEO’s et al as well.

19th April 2020 at 4:53 pm #96252Hightown, the problem is not how much football players earn, it’s the fact the clubs were taking the government’s money and furloughing the lowest paid workers whilst still paying the players vast amounts every week and still plotting to spend millions in the transfer market…..Pagan
