Some interesting thoughts Paxton.
The Daily Mail have covered every scenario today and unfortunately there’s a downside to them all including playing out the season.
PL meeting today and another UEFA meeting next week too let’s see if anything new comes out of either.
Interestingly it is being reported that Sheffield United will enter talks designed to explore the possibility of finishing the Premier League season by the end of June with an open mind, a source close to Bramall Lane has said, with officials at the club expected to decide their position after hearing all the arguments put forward. There needs to be 14 in favour of ending the season by the end of June allegedly there are pre the meeting 10 in favour so they will need to carry another 4 of which Sheffield United would be one?

17th April 2020 at 10:48 am #96154“Chelsea FC will provide 78,000 meals to NHS staff and carers over the next six weeks as they look to support the most vulnerable through the coronavirus pandemic.
The club will pay for 13,000 meals a week which will be provided by their catering partner Levy and distributed daily to the five London hospitals under the umbrella of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The Blues have already opened the doors of the Millennium Hotel at Stamford Bridge, which is now at full capacity, to NHS staff, with owner Roman Abramovich footing the bill and with the Russian said to be instrumental in finding new ways to help.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck said: “We are and have always been committed to supporting our communities, especially the vulnerable, and at this time we recognise this is more important than ever.
“Our owner, Roman Abramovich, has been instrumental in challenging us to find ways to support those in need and after we successfully launched the Refuge campaign and made the Millennium Hotel at Stamford Bridge available to the NHS, this was the priority so I am pleased to see it begin.”
Professor Julian Redhead, medical director at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust said: “All our staff are working incredibly hard to support our patients and their loved ones during this very challenging time and itโs so important that staff can access healthy, nutritious food. Weโre hugely grateful for this generous new initiative from Chelsea Football Club, which helps us to support the health and wellbeing of our incredible people.”
As well as supporting the local NHS Trust, meals will also be provided to charity partners to support those working in social care with the elderly or people in sheltered accommodation.
Jess Millwood, CEO of Age UK Kensington and Chelsea, said: “Chelsea FCโs support ensures that Age UK in Kensington and Chelsea can supply fresh daily meals to older vulnerable and isolated people.
“They include people living with dementia, significant frailty and illnesses such as cancer. Covid-19 is frightening and challenging, but the community response has been heart-warming. We are really grateful to Chelsea FC who have stepped up to help out so generously.” Standard 17/04

17th April 2020 at 3:44 pm #96168I’m not surprised Pagan there is no leadership and the PL are just kicking the can down the road and like the Scottish PL are probably concerned at pre empting UEFA and their threat of CL and EL bans for Leagues prematurely calling the season which is what held the SPL back from following the rest of Scottish football.
It may take a pan European UEFA decision to confirm when this season should end and the new one start.

17th April 2020 at 3:51 pm #96169They should bite the bullet. Write off the season at the end of May if there is no improvement and prepare for next season proper whenever it can start and under what conditions. Perhaps for next season NO cup competitions whatsoever inc European competitions. Just get things back on track even if its a Sept start with limited crowds if thats possible.

17th April 2020 at 5:09 pm #961729, UEFA Have far to high an opinion of themselves, itโs not the competition thatโs the draw itโs the teams in it. How much would the competition worth without the teams from England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France in it? Even if only one or two countries were excluded the drop in viewing numbers would greatly reduce the amount of money they could command from sponsorship and in match adverts. Personally I think itโs all bluff and self importance bravado from the corruption kings of sport…..Pagan
