I can see HK as a perfect replacement for Aguero, and if anybody can fork out anything close to what Levy will demand, its surely City?!

13th April 2020 at 8:48 pm #96083ARSENAL stars have rejected a 12.5 per cent pay cut across the next year in a vote on Monday afternoon.
Players were asked to consider reducing their wages over the next 12 months after football was suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.
Says it all

13th April 2020 at 8:59 pm #96085Adlab, it was bound to happen sooner or later, this is the start of football’s implosion, the current model was never sustainable if there was a financial meltdown…..Pagan

14th April 2020 at 7:07 am #96086AnonymousWhilst I have no time for him whatsoever, Daniel levy stated not that long ago the spending in football is not sustainable and the bubble will burst. Not sure he thought this situation would cause it but most teams will be fucked with their wage bills and money owed to other teams for transfers. Spurs have been criticised for years for under paying on wages and transfers when in reality it was everyone else overpaying and destroying the market which levy did not buy in to.

14th April 2020 at 8:19 am #96087Not doubt about it Paxton Daniel Levy despite the frustration he may cause Spurs fans is a very prudent businessman which was the reason he took the furlough route which he has now understandably and rightly discarded due to the levels of criticism but from purely a business viewpoint it made sense.
However even he bowed to the pressure on wages with Harry Kane which filtered down albeit at a lesser extent to other players like Son.
Transfer fees and wages in football are completely out of hand and not just in the PL as are the earnings of Agents and it will be interesting to see how much football changes after all this is finally behind us.
Spurs themselves face a significant problem with the enormous monies still owed on the Stadium that may not be able to be utilised until 2021 unfortunately even Daniel Levy couldn’t predict that.

14th April 2020 at 9:07 am #96088Double B… bit late but still, my condolences. Never fun. Heard of some freinds of friends but luckily nobody in my own social circle yet.
Puppy, don’t you worry about our stadium bill, I’ve explained it to you before (I guess you wasn’t listining then either!). It’s nowhere near the cyber-chip wrappings and their click bait projections claim it to be… but I guess as long as the likes of you puppys keep falling for it, they’re going to keep printing it! 🙂

You must be right because Mourinho allegedly has such a significant transfer budget this Summer. 🙂

14th April 2020 at 9:53 am #96093Sorry to hear that Buffy. Slightly black humor, but my boss at work (not the one at home), he’s father who lives in Sweden went to Austria just before it all went really bad as part of his “Barbershop Quartet”, and by all accounts his now a solo artist.
Yes Puppy, I do say so! Again! 🙂
Say want you want about Levy, and I do along with my other fellow Spuds, but I have to admit from a purely financial perspective, Spuds are the best run club on the planet. Doesn’t give you a trophy, and I’d rather have a trophy, but even if we all didn’t have a shitload more improtant things to be worrying about, I still wouldn’t be worrying about the “books” at the Lane.

14th April 2020 at 9:54 am #96094Couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed a re run game last night but the Chelsea v Spurs game did have a bit of everything.
There were some very tasty challenges but they didn’t seem quite as bad as when watching live.
Still left with the impression that Clattenburg should have acted sooner.
Massive turnover of Chelsea players in the 4 year peruod only Azpi is left.

14th April 2020 at 11:10 am #96098Lol,imagine soft pussies like Ozil,Mustafi,Kolasinac,Luiz,Socratis,Bellerin,Xhaka-absolute waste of space, time & money, rejecting a wage cut?
As for United,I really hope they go fucking bankrupt and have to start from Division 3,with no transfers over £10m allowed, and no player on more than £20k p/w.Pay the debt 1st,get rid of overpaid, overrated, oversensitive primadonnas, get e new stadium build, then think & aim for trophies.
Reading the Spanish Press, and even those media close to Real & Barca are claiming that both are in dire straits and are faced with financial ruin-suits em right, fooking wankers!
I really think that after this the world will not be the same, and it should hit football too._____________________________
