Brian, I never watch half time or the pundits before games.
The very odd time I will watch Carragher abd Neville on a Monday night.
Some really bad pundits out there full of bias shite.
Souness
Danny mills
Danny MurphyAre absolutely shocking

30th March 2020 at 5:55 pm #92467“For our part, the time has come to announce that, apart from the reduction of 70% of our salary during the state of alarm, we will also make contributions so that the club’s employees can collect one hundred percent of their salary while this situation lasts.
“If we did not speak until now it was because the priority for us was to find solutions that were real to help the club, but also for those who were going to be more affected by this situation.β Lionel Messi

30th March 2020 at 7:21 pm #92469Bugger, Finnish Government just extended the “shut-down” to May 13th over here (was originally due to stop on April 13th). And our numbers weren’t too bad on a per capita basis. I reckon you lot can expect at least the same.

30th March 2020 at 9:06 pm #92471Wasn’t a surprise, word around the cyber coffee pot last week pretty much said end of May at the earliest, just a bit annoying once it was confirmed.

31st March 2020 at 2:30 am #92472So what is the lockdown situation in the UK (or more specifically England) regarding essential services and non essential services and in particular trading by Restaurants. As with here in house dining is long ago banned but our restaurants can still do take away and home delivery. What about yours?

31st March 2020 at 8:08 am #9247367, everything non essential in the UK is closed and there are long queues to get essential medicines at Pharmacies but Restaurants etc can still do takeaways.
And at last we have a glimmer of good news in the UK with “The UK’s coronavirus lockdown appears to be working with hospital admissions “not accelerating rapidly” and the death toll dropping for the second day running.
Chief scientific advisor Sir Patrick Vallance said the strict new measures introduced last week appeared to be having the “effect desired” in the government’s daily press conference.”
Let’s hope and pray that trend continues.

31st March 2020 at 8:20 am #92475So, certain cyber rags are suggesting it kicks off in May behind closed doors with the idea being finishing mid-July before the last contract runs out and the new contract kicks in…
At least Special-K will be happy! π

31st March 2020 at 8:42 am #92476Chuckles, contracts run out either the end of May or end of June, will be a few lawsuits if a player gets injured and canβt play for his/her new club.
On another note, most grass roots footy has had the season voided, one exception locally has decided to finish the season as it currently stands, coincidentally the bloke that runs the league also supplies all the trophies…..Pagan

31st March 2020 at 8:56 am #92477Peggy… yeah, the article didn’t mention that, although it seems clubs are anticpating players leaving when contracts expire regardless of when the games are played, as they wanted rules about weak teams and squad sizes etc… relaxed for those games. no idea about players signing for new clubs being elidgable for any remmaining games…

Id forgotten John Denver. Saw him about 4 or 5 times in concert. Love his music. Calypso, Annie’s song, etc. Wonderful music. Whether out and out country? But great performer. Another tragic death._____________________________

31st March 2020 at 9:03 am #92480Wonder what impact the lack of revenue is going to make to those clubs with heavy debt having to make interest payments. I think it will prove a real headache over the short term.
On a covid matter. Just noticed a reporter wearing a mask but no gloves. Think he was in NY. Spread through touch is at least a greater danger.

31st March 2020 at 9:17 am #92482Not the biggest country fan, but it was the choice of my dad so got to hear quite a bit of it, Marty Robbins was probably one that stuck out, not only for his music but also for the fact he was a performer.
Currently The Cadillac Three are a country rock band that are worth a listen….Pagan

31st March 2020 at 9:30 am #92483Adlab I think that football will likely have to press the reset button after all this and probably not just football .
It will effect all Clubs imo even the top PL Clubs especially if they suffer revenue losses from sponsors and the TV monies.
The transfer window, notice I said the transfer window and not the Summer transfer window π will be interesting in terms how it might effect transfer fees.

31st March 2020 at 9:35 am #92484Adlab, I’m a big fan of John Denver too recently put his greatest hits in the car fortunately through my contacts in the record biz specifically CBS I always managed to bag a couple of tickets when he was touring over here.
“Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy” was exactly what JD bought to his concerts. Cheers 9’s
