“From the fans perspective I donโt think there is any appetite bar possibly the Liverpool fans to play this season out no matter what even if it is in December.”
Nine you’ve mentioned this a lot but I have a sneaky suspicion this is just your own opinion and have nothing to back it up.

30th March 2020 at 1:17 pm #92418Chucky, I don’t think you can null and void the Season and deny Liverpool the title but at the same time promote the Championship Clubs if the season is null and voided it would be dreadfully harsh on Liverpool but it would mean the season didn’t happen for everyone not just Liverpool.
That’s why I personally favour freezing the Season because it awards Liverpool the title and minimises the effect on the majority of Clubs but the PL ultimately might not see it like that and they may be forced down the route of null and voiding the season to give themselves the most protection legally.
I totally agree with you there has to be a cut off point somewhere in trying to complete the Season and Aleksander Ceferin President of UEFA has admitted that the 2019/20 season โwill probably be lostโ if the coronavirus outbreak prevents football from resuming by the end of June and that seems about right to me.

30th March 2020 at 1:22 pm #92420threeps. Nope!
Sky Sports Survey mid March.”If the Premier League season canโt be completed, what should happen?”
52%Null and void
21%LFC’s title/no relegation
27%Current table is final
319,937 votes.I suspect the above votes will have hardened further now two weeks on too!
And here’s another one for you from Football London.
Would you prefer the football season to be extended into the summer, potentially past the end of players’ contracts and pushing next season back, or simply cancelled and declared void?
31%Extend into the summer
69%Cancel and declare void

30th March 2020 at 1:37 pm #92423Interesting Nine, a very quick Google search got me a YouGov survey that is very contradiction to yours. Out in the lead with 39% is the “lets finish the season whenever” option. And it’s 2026 votes trumps your measly 1486!
Stats like this can be found and manipulated in many ways to fulfill our own agenda, I wouldn’t go around stating what you found as if fact, just opinion.
And Mav, the Avatar is Guybrush Threepwood, and I believe he is pointing at something.

30th March 2020 at 1:50 pm #92424If the season doesnโt finish then the whole integrity of the game will have to be questioned.
It’s this type of comment I have to admit I find challenging to dissect and a somewhat over the top reaction. For starters, the game lost it claims to having any integrity left the moment it took the TV dollar, and many would argue even long before then.
And I’m not surprised, having just looked at the table, that the Puppy is happy for it to all be “frozen” and awarded as is… ๐
So, 3p’s, do I take it your firmly in the play the season out whatever camp or do you have a “CUT-OFF” point in your mind? Any idea as to what is going to happen with players contracts and the transfer window for example?

30th March 2020 at 1:51 pm #92425Threeps, and thereโs the problem, Liverpool given the title rather than won the title.
I think the vast majority of fans would like to see the season completed, but not at the cost of ruining the next one…..Pagan_____________________________

30th March 2020 at 1:53 pm #92426threeps,but not the 319,000 Sky votes eh!?
threeps you posted “Nine youโve mentioned this a lot but I have a sneaky suspicion this is just your own opinion and have nothing to back it up.”
I gave you two surveys that do back up what I was saying which is presumably what you were asking for when you posted the above and you come back with
“Stats like this can be found and manipulated in many ways to fulfill our own agenda, I wouldnโt go around stating what you found as if fact, just opinion.”
I wasn’t manipulating anything merely answering your accusation that I was just expressing my own opinion.
No need to get all Arsenal about it threeps even on here the baulk of the opinion Liverpool posters aside is that the season can’t be carried over indefinitely!!!

30th March 2020 at 1:58 pm #92427Cut off point: no
Contracts: Extend them. Once a restart date is decided a finish date is then fixed and contracts extended to then. Transfer window will need adjusting but that will most likely need adjusting anyway as players could still be in lock down by the end of August (or whenever the windows closes).
“And Iโm not surprised, having just looked at the table, that the Puppy is happy for it to all be โfrozenโ and awarded as isโฆ”
During my recent Google search I came across a Birmingham based survey. Would you believe it that the vast majority of WBA fans want the season to played to a finish whenever that may be whilst the Wolves fans want it to end now and positions as they are to be valid, probably knowing the Sheff Utd have a game in hand and can overtake them. Strange we get such different results based on what team the group surveyed supports!

Only because I think that’s the fairest way Chucky taking everything into account tbh I don’t care whether Chelsea qualify for the CL or the EL or progress in the FA Cup imo this season is over as far as I’m concerned which puts that one to bed threeps!
There are three options play out the season no matter when it takes place and how it’s played out like you though and others inc the President of UEFA so think there has to be a cut off date for that.
Freeze the table as it stands would still provide the least number if problems imo but it opens up the PL to all sorts of legal challenges.
Or null and void the season under force majeure which probably gives the PL the most legal protection.
I suspect it will come down to deciding between option one and option three with option three becoming more likely as the weeks go by.

But on the other hand, I can’t see how you can award the trophy (or finalize first place) and not carry the same “finalization” status on the relegation places, I think the bottom three and the clubs chasing promotion might have something to say about that.
And yes, I think from a perfectly legal point of view, if they don’t play the games they have to declare it null and void. The “sweetener” for the TV companies will be the extra games next season with the extra promoted sides, and let’s be honest, having 5 relegation spots from the get-go would make it a lot more exciting, increase viewers and keep the paymasters happy!
Still convinced “freezing” the table would cause the most problems of all!

30th March 2020 at 2:02 pm #92430Threeps, I agree with a lot of what you say. Everyone keeps saying it will only benefit liveroool
If the season continues. Iโve spoke to a lot of utd fans and they want it to continue. They want cl footballWba, Leeds, Brentford, forest, fleetwood, Sunderland, Celtic, Wycombe, oxford etc would all want the league to continue.
Itโs opposing fans who keep bringing this up. Not one liveroool fan has mentioned it in weeks until mak replies to comments.
Opposing fans just want it cancelled. Itโs not just liveroool fans who want to see it finished
I donโt want a freeze. I want to win the leAgue and people will have the Appetite hugely when football comes back.
People be just glad itโs back on the screens as it will mean all Avis is behind us.

Then reply to the quote I posted earlier stating the FA, EPL and PL joint statement. Funny how that post gets ignored. To quote Mak, sometimes I wonder why I come on here…

30th March 2020 at 2:04 pm #92434Chucky, I agree. Liveroool just cannot be handed the title and nothing else happens
Relegation , promotion etc all have to be sorted.
This is not just about Liverpool as people keep saying

30th March 2020 at 2:10 pm #924353p’s… with regards to your FA, PL & EFL statement, I’m not sure when that was released and possibly given at a time when nobody was really sure what was going on or what the complete impacts were going to be from this virus. I suspect it was given with the idea of getting things wrapped up and all the games played out before the end of July at the latest so there would be a minimal delay until next season. I don’t think for one minute they were thinking of playing the last 9 games next September and starting the next season in November for example.
And somehow I can’t see the players/agents going for the automatic extension of contracts is these games occur outside the player’s contracts.

30th March 2020 at 2:10 pm #92436threeps, you’re out of order buddie with your last few posts and I’m not obliged to answer what you might have posted especially as it wasn’t addressed to me but I did answer it with “Iโm not sure that there is anything in the rules that covers where we are now”
Maybe you’re having a bad day it’s unlike you to post like you have been.
I am not in the least bit anti Liverpool in fact the reverse, there is no anti Liverpool agenda behind anything I have posted and I have consistently said whatever the outcome of this season Liverpool should be crowned Champions!!!
