steveo-Sorry about your situation pal,sounds like you need help desperately.In daily contact with my colleagues from NHS,and since the Gov has asked for volunteers to join in helping out the NHS,over 200k people have offered their services.Might be a good idea for you to consider it,as this will lead to a group formed by the same people who help one-another,or indeed to anyone they know with basic needs to survive.These are desperate times my friend,people have/are to stick/sticking together,helping each-other within their means.Have friends in the North and Midlands that have taken in entire families to help with accomodation,food,water,stay warm etc.

Deaths in the UK from the Coronavirus falling is a positive but we need to see reported cases falling to know whether the Lockdown is working though.

Also despite these new rulings people are still unbelievably flouting them and it’s not just the young either a mate of mine drove he and his wife the 20 odd miles to Worthing yesterday to take advantage of the nice weather.

Our phone call didn’t end on a positive note!

has your lockdown closed down all businesses except essential businesses such as supermarkets. petrol stations, doctors, dentists, pharmacies? That is where we are very quickly heading if the statistics continue to grow. The morons letting 3,000 off of a cruise ship when there were known carriers is inexplicable.

It’ll take a while in lockdown before the numbers start to fall. Ireland percentage of increased cases is quite low the last few days, even if the cumulative nature of it still means that it’s pretty alarming/serious, at the same time.

If we can keep on the same path that we appear to be on (not a false dawn etc) then we should actually never run out of ICU beds, before the numbers start falling. I don’t want to get my hopes up yet because it’s too early to tell. We also have a situation here with testing that may be throwing our numbers WAY off.

im not quite in the”living in a box” stage yet, maybe a few months grace, maybe would have been ok without the virus but with so many companies on lock down and thinking of how they go forward it may take more time or have less oppertunities

fingers crossed it will all work out, being out of work certainly changes ones perspective, especially with kids we all want to do our best by!

999 what was wrong with your mate going to worthing for excerices in the beautiful weather? as long as he and the family were properly distancing and taking excerices i thought this was OK, hence my own walk down the sea front yesterday?

Could be worse, could be a hell of a lot worse, but the latest here in Finland is home office/lockdown
/no school’s till end of May… and annoyingly yet ironicly enough, I actaully went for a job interview just before all this shite started…

Buffy, fingers crossed mate, easier said than done I know but try to keep yourself as busy as possible. Worse thing to do is get all wound up and depressed about it…

tbh I think it’s a loophole in the rules if you’re only allowed to shop for essentials as infrequently as possible and people are being asked only to travel to work if it’s absolutely essential him hiding behind the one exercise a day argument didn’t wash with me he could have Coronavirus or be a carrier and he’s potentially taking it 20 miles the exercising allowance is imo meant to be in and around your own home.

Government instructions state “These four reasons are exceptions – even when doing these activities, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home”.

I think the above probably procludes 2 or 3 hours walking up and down the Seafront at Worthing and sitting watching the Sea having travelled 20 miles to get there which is something they do regularly. Regular things in life are on hold now.

The reason for not going out is primarily aimed at cities with large populations. Thats easy to understand. This morning I took the dogs out across the fields up to the canal. Not one car nor one person anywhere. That is so different compared if you lived in a city centre or populated area. But the govt have to aim the rules at a populated area. It would be impossible to differentiate.

Disappointed in letter sent by clubs to CAS. The case has not been heard. We all know who is behind this but surprised at Liverpool. What will they then say if we are found not guilty? Eh Mr Gill?

Adlab, I can’t really be bothered with football currently but I was disappointed to see Chelsea on that list of Clubs.

City shouldn’t be punished imo until they’ve had the chance to present their case to CAS and if the case doesn’t get heard in time which is a probability currently then City have the right to appeal the punishment until their case is heard by CAS.

If that means they get to play in the CL in the 2020/21 season so be it if City are found guilty there punishment would then be from the 2021/22 season.

Day excursions to Worthing don’t meet that criteria.

i think i may have to respectfully disgree with you on this one 999
its similar to what i did, closer but i was distanced from anyone, out in fresh air and sun (sun can kill the virus on clothes) and its the same as leaving my house an walking around or to and form the local park, its not where you go IMHO its the social distancing and sitting on a bench looking at the sea (what i did) with no else around would seem fine and very good for the soul….had he stayed and been in contact with others maybe your argument would hold but for me, id prefer my excercise somewhere nice in the sun than round the local houses

strangley not that down Nancy, concidering im prone to depression, i get anxiety if i think about it and the ramafactions to much but im also king and burying my head in the sand, tho not to the extent of ignoring completley this time, just to stop the thoughts and what ifs!
