UEFA has formally taken the decision to postpone the club finals originally scheduled for May 2020. With no new dates scheduled.
At last some common sense from UEFA.

24th March 2020 at 8:14 am #92083AnonymousI had a discussion with a person on reddit who thought that it was fine for families to go to the park, as long as they kept picnicked 2 meters apart. This came from a thread where most were thankfully appalled that the parks were now actually busier than usual.
I always knew the masses were idiots, not that I’m any genius but it does seem that there are just a huge percentage of utter morons out there. I get that families with kids are having a hard time of it but COME ON, it’s not really that hard, it’s a little difficult for them. It’s only early days too and as Sean said, these fools have brought this inevitable lockdown upon themselves. A lockdown changes nothing for me compared to the last 2 weeks or more. Some people take offense at being asked to curb their liberties just a little, in such obviously special times.
I have recently been buying all my food from the local shop. I have to finally go to LIDL soon though because it’s more than twice as expensive and I’ve struggled to meet bills the last 2 weeks. My freezer is far from empty but I’ve got to get more than 2 weeks worth, in case I begin to show symptoms. I wonder if they’ll see me buying 2+ weeks worth and think I’m one of those moronic panic buyers? Did any of ye have any such problems when getting your self-isolation supplies? I should have gotten them before but I just stayed in except for getting my rent (ya my landlord calls and physically takes it… super annoying right now).
Anyway lads, I hope you’re all well and that none of ye are symptomatic. Am American acquaintance of mine almost certainly has it. He was in contact with a confirmed case and then began showing symptoms himself. Kinda worrying for him, as he has a heart murmur. Nobody else that I’m aware of though but judging byt he rate at which it’s going up, I don’t think that will last.
If there are any smokers out there, now’s the time to quit. I think this virus will be around for a long long time, so don’t think that it’s too late to benefit, it definitely is not.
For any at risk lads on here, do you happen to have the pneumonia vaccine? I think they last 10 years and they might improve your odds. Call your doctor and see if you can get it, maybe? If they are still seeing people for preventative measures anyway.

24th March 2020 at 8:18 am #92084Anonymous“I suspect we are days away from an enforced lockdown in the UK because people arenβt sensible enough to keep their distance.”
Ireland and the UK need to be shut the F down right away. The people have proven that they can’t be trusted. They are literally killing people with their selfishness, so I honestly don’t see why they are delaying. All we can do is talk about it on the web or on the phone with people. Maybe these governments are waiting for thresholds to be broken, so that the public accept such draconian measures. If that is even a part of the decision behind it then we’ve got to talk about it and get everyone mentally prepared… because they are so unable to accept some very mild social limitations so far.
Bunch of babies.

24th March 2020 at 8:33 am #92085AnonymousI will say Nine, a week ago or so I was happy for the distraction of football. I don’t think you need to be only thinking of the serious things happening in your life, so whilst I was obviously not calling for the PL to continue, I did like talking about the potential possibilities etc. It’s a few days now at least where I’ve just not had any interest in football. It’s not like I’m sitting here thinking about coronavirus all the time either, I’m staying in and as long as I do that, I’m playing my part and that’s all that matters.
You may have a point though that the season is tarnished. I won’t know until the smoke starts to clear, you know, with how I feel about it. My guess is that I’ll be absolutely mad for football to get going again, in quite a few months, when the virus has been exterminated, or fended off with vaccines etc etc.
I kinda habitually load skysports or other football sites and usually just remember that I don’t really care about the players they are linking to Liverpool right now. I’ve half watched a few videos from ESPN or Sky and it’s just uninteresting.
I think the only result that I’d genuinely feel passionately miffed about is if they voided the whole thing and didnt award anything. I’m apathetic enough that I’d be done with it all if they awarded it and I don’t think I’d complain too much .. but we’ll see after we’ve dealt with this pandemic.
Continue to stay safe lads. we’ve got a sensible bunch here at least. No “hoax” clowns etc.

24th March 2020 at 8:38 am #92086Havenβt looked at sky sports in over a week. No interest in football or discussing anything to do with football
Donβt read about football and donβt even miss it at the moment.
Pointless discussing what people think is going to happen or what should be done
Iβve absolutely zero interest

24th March 2020 at 8:47 am #92087there will be NO vaccine for over a year minimum, no matter what country and medical expert does , its impossible, they need to test and test and test so any vaccine they provide doesnt cause more harm than good all that can and will happen is to slow the spread, allow medical services to stay afloat and cope and try and level this out over the many many months to come, if to many get it at once, all health organisations will collapse and many more deaths will be the result
no idea what is going to happen on a personal level, it feels starnage to do my daily job search/apply but of course all companies are shut down for that….i will run out of cash very soon and then frankly i dont know where that leaves me with living/eating etc
so many millions are in this position to and its utterly soul destroying, the powerless feeling and worry for family and how we cope moving on

24th March 2020 at 9:32 am #92091AnonymousSteveo, stop paying rent/mortgage. I assume the UK has put a freeze on evictions and also mortgage payments themselves?
If not they need to, also the same goes for utilities and disconnections.
I won’t be paying any bills this week, except rent. Who knows the week after though, we’ve got to prioritize our own food/provisions security over these now pretty unimportant expenses.
As for the vaccine, I am pretty sure that America has already trialed one on people. They cut right through the usual testing processes. Whether this will be wide-spread until they find the right one, who knows. It’s dangerous but I think at risk people whoa re infected might be willing to take their chances. this is usually completely off the table as an option but needs must as the devil drives.

24th March 2020 at 10:34 am #92096Stevo, sad to read your post @8:47am the mountain may look high currently but you’re a resilient guy and you will scale it in the end.
Keep your chin up not only for your sake but more for the sake of the family.
The most important thing is that you all stay healthy whatever happens you will be able to put food on the table it might be beans on toast and not steak for a while but you’ll come out the other side of this in the end.

24th March 2020 at 11:25 am #92097Mak…the other real problem to testing is the technology itself, not just about testing on humans it will have to go through stringent process controls and if just one breaks down, they have to clean everything out and start again. This is not a quick job. As to the testing humans, I do not believe in short cuts where medical formulas go, the risk is higher than the potential cure. I said earlier I would be surprised if they found the answer in less than two years Analysis has to treated carefully or some would jump on any sign that the processed has been cracked. We all live in hope though take care

24th March 2020 at 11:34 am #92098Steve….keep strong, explore every avenue to protect yourself and family. Beans and eggs better nutritional eat than Pizzas etc in my opinion. I could get by on them for a long time with toast. Good cereals also make a good start to the day, not the sugary ones.
You are right about the testing. I was connected to the Pharma industry for many years on the process side and the logistics of that are huge before any formulations are tried
Keep positive Steve, explore everything, don’t give up on anything and when it is over and you have achieved you will be a proud person

Steveo. If you are in the UK check what benefits might be available.
Two sites to look at:
1. Entitled to
2. Turn to usBoth are easy to use benefits checkers

24th March 2020 at 12:01 pm #92103Not posted for a few weeks. Very, very strange times.
Sincerely hope everyone on here, and their families, are safe and well.
I’m supposed to be working from home but having major problems trying to connect remotely. Been on the phone to our help desk since 8 am this morning and still in the same queue.
However, my problem is absolutely insignificant compared to some.
SteveO, just read your post – stay strong mate, it’s very tough I know, but look into every possible avenue available to you online to help relieve financial burdens._____________________________
