We are leading the world in what we are doing, just had a mail from friends in Belgium…they say we are wonderful compared to the shambles in the EEC….some actually do not want it….can you believe that. The French only want the French one and will wait…typical. The Germans keeping there walley closed and the rest cannot afford it

If our shower of gov can get ยฃ14 m people vaccinated in a few months why canโt Ireland do itโs whole nation in the same or far less time? Makes no sense
Ireland could be vaccinated in A couple of months and back to life and should be among the first in the world to do so just for size of population_____________________________

14th January 2021 at 12:25 pm #173784Our government are a disgrace stevo mate
They say the vaccines arenโt coming in quick enough but hopefully when this latest vaccine (canโt remember company) gets approved, gps can start administering people then
They hope to have 4 million done by end of sept. 700k done by end of March which is very very slow
As much as I give the uk government stick, they are rolling this out very well and they only going to get quicker

14th January 2021 at 8:06 pm #173801Nil, looking at figures, football isnโt really doing any better than joe public, theyโre not doing much different to most well run businesses, the only main difference is they have a testing regime. The governing bodies set out protocols which included in game behaviours, such as socially distanced goal celebrations and final whistle conduct, this is clearly not happening, so you have to start doubting the practice behaviours of teams and social behaviours of individuals.
As for the testing regime, why are the numbers tested in every round so different, surely it should be everyone every time……Pagan

14th January 2021 at 8:51 pm #173807Pagan, you’re right and I do agree. They should be extra careful. Interestingly, I seen earlier this evening on SSN the thoughts of Frank Lampard and Brendan Rogers who put forward their thoughts supporting the players which I also can understand.
It’s those that have probably stepped out of line privately away from football and have exposed themselves. Obviously there’s a small minority, but that’s having a knock on effect and we know this virus has a more powerful rate of transmission.
I suspect with these Managers being supportive of their players in public domain will have strong messages planned and drilled into them (in hope) behind the scenes.

14th January 2021 at 9:36 pm #173813I know it’s difficult for the players but the over exuberant goal celebrations should really stop now.

15th January 2021 at 5:12 am #173816AnonymousDD, Had a similar dream recently someone else also had a year ago I remember. A long thin snake called Kareno was chasing me and I couldnโt outrun it so I turned around and tried to dodge past it but she kept popping up her neck nodding no. Itโs almost as if she was telling me you not getting past me. Not a lie but it was only a dream. For now.

15th January 2021 at 12:39 pm #173827Why should they stop celebrating goals with each other? They are tested every few days to make sure they don’t have the virus. Also, whats the difference in standing next to each other in a wall, marking men at corners etc? If they can do that, they can celebrate a goal together.

15th January 2021 at 1:10 pm #173831Tugsy, I would say not much difference, but you can test as much as you like, it doesnโt stop you getting it as we are seeing. If there wasnโt so much money involved I donโt think theyโd still be playing….Pagan

15th January 2021 at 1:26 pm #173835I think Tugay has a point on celebrations. It’s a split-second moment of elation.

26th January 2021 at 8:46 pm #174460“Chelsea Football Club is once more providing accommodation at Stamford Bridge to the National Health Service (NHS).
Club owner Roman Abramovich will again be covering the costs of providing the accommodation, which includes bed and breakfast, in the Copthorne Hotel. A similar initiative was rolled out last March in response to the first coronavirus outbreak in London. Many of the medical staff will be working long hours and may not be able to travel home or would have to make long commutes at a time when the virus is so transmissible. The rooms will be initially available until the next government review in mid-February.
Millennium Hotels and Resorts, who manage the hotel, are supportive and assisting the club in providing this service to the NHS.”
Well done Roman!

21st February 2021 at 8:23 pm #175793Well, the much talked about ROADMAP is unveiled Tomorrow. Reading reports today about John Lewis closing more stores and the overall reflection on the High Street is saddening having worked myself in Retail.
It’s almost a year on since the Pandemic broke.
Peoples Lives Ultimately are Foremost. People’s Livelihoods too.
