Ha, ha Sean if only it was as easy as you suggest.

Brexit needed to be negotiated with the EU who perhaps understandably driven by certain Countries looked to make the UK leaving the EU as difficult as possibe it then had to pass through Parliament which was split on Brexit as was the Country and the UK’s democracy requires a majority in the UK Parliament in order to progress such things.

As much as I love you Sean and always will coming on to a UK forum as an Irishman living in Ireland it is more than a tad disrespectful to suggest that the whole World is laughing at the UK.

I can’t think of two more difficult situations to wrestle with as a Government than Brexit and the Coronavirus and both at the same time too.

You can’t seem to take anyone having a go at your country when the editor himself an Englishman and a lot of other people have says your government is a joke and in my opinion, the world is laughing at England at the minute. I’m actually part Irish myself on my Grandmother’s side and I love the country and the people particularly Dublin as well as further South. Cheers 9’s

My mums been in hospital since the 23rd in Ireland and I’ve just spoken to her and she now has covid …. caught in the bloody hospital

Nine, to my knowledge mate, that’s never been an option. The 80% payment would have been on the basis of having to go into shielding, isolation or categorized into vulnerable group.

Childcare has come up because of the shift in change of Government Guidelines. I’ve not personally had to explore too deep into the complexities of it all, but I led into the thought that those not falling into the category of 80% payment or in the vulnerable group, colleagues were having to use their Holidays.

Personally I think it’s wrong for Holidays and Annual Leave being used in this Manner. I just think for a very big and well known Company, the Government haven’t intervened to put measures in place whereby Colleagues aren’t feeling as though they are backed into a corner.

They should stop for at least a couple of weeks. Yes we will miss probably the only decent entertainment around but it’s not worth it, it’s getting worse instead of better.
