Pagan….that is also the biggest problem….the clubs are not responsible for travel to and from ground and public transport may not be available, Car parking?????? I think there will also be problems within the ground. More stewards? Increased costs. can the clubs afford to actually let say 4000 in and police them? A lot of question to be answered

26th November 2020 at 9:51 pm #170931Nine….masks….they should be. I heard one suggestion that fans should not shout…thats crazy. but you see where the thinking goes and if you were takeingbthe medical view, you would probably agree. but it would also be unworkable and hardly enforceable

26th November 2020 at 11:10 pm #170932Currently the maximum number of fans based on the current tiers is 2,000 because no PL Clubs sit in tier 1.
Based on what happened at Brighton v Chelsea in the pre season friendly when they let 2,500 fans in they were stationed three seats apart.
Apart from that I agree with everything Brian says above and like him I think it’s just too early.

27th November 2020 at 1:34 pm #170934“Following the statement by Health Secretary Matt Hancock in the House of Commons earlier today, outlining which areas in England will be subject to which tiers of restrictions after 2 December, Chelsea Football Club will be allowed to welcome back home fans to Stamford Bridge next month.” Chelsea Football Club.
Seemingly home fans only which I suspect will be replicated at all Clubs.

27th November 2020 at 2:50 pm #170936When I go footy now I tend to go and watch Millwall, the crowd I go with are predominantly season ticket holders, most of them have paid for their season tickets and currently get to watch the matches on line. Now that fans are allowed back in in limited numbers itβs actually going to cost the clubs to do so, they wonβt take any extra revenue but will have all the expenditure of stewards, security etc.
On another note, if they do produce match day programmes, they will probably be in far smaller quantities, which may make them collectorβs items, so if any of you are lucky enough to get to a game, get yourself a programme….Pagan

27th November 2020 at 8:04 pm #170940I’m still not sure how this proposition of fans will be in line with Tier 2 and Tier 3 unless they are all ‘vetted’ before-hand and segregated and placed in the ground accordingly.

27th November 2020 at 8:11 pm #170941Clubs already have the details of season ticket holders, same households can sit together, others not. The clubs issue tickets with seat numbers on them. The seating is the easy bit, the entry and egress is the problem….Pagan

27th November 2020 at 8:37 pm #170943I think theyβll just go down the hand sanitiser and common sense road, if itβs good enough for Aldi it will be good enough for football. Obviously if we use the Waitrose method it will only be 1000 fans and their butlers…..Pagan

27th November 2020 at 8:44 pm #170944Nil, here’s how Liverpool will do it. Generally fans living in a tier 3 area won’t be allocated a ticket no matter the Club.
“A minimum of 75% of the 2,000 tickets will be used for general admission, with the remaining allocated to hospitality supporters, players and to meet contractual obligations, similar to the ratio used when the stadium is at full capacity.
Fans wanting to enter the ballot must also be a season ticket holder or current official member with 19 credits from the 2018/19 Premier League season who have completed Fan Update.
Only the Main Stand will be in use, with an adult general admission ticket costing Β£44.92, a price determined by a weighted average of ticket prices across the stadium. Concessions will also apply using the same method.
Ticketless technology will be used for fans to gain access to the stadium using an electronic ticket on their smart phone, a move aimed at minimising physical contact.
Supporters must complete a health declaration questionnaire should they be successful in the ballot and will be asked to refer to a new supporter code of conduct outlining health and safety guidelines.”

4th December 2020 at 8:42 pm #171470Question Time was just full of gloom. What are the BBC about? There just seems cohesive Control in Behaviour and Expression.
We have a Vaccine, yet people are so fixated on ‘logistics’.
I really don’t know.

4th December 2020 at 8:54 pm #171471Nil, itβs no good having millions of doses of the vaccine if you canβt store, move and administer it. Inoculating a population of 64 million plus is going to take some organising especially if they need two doses and it has to be transported and stored at way below freezing…..Pagan

4th December 2020 at 9:12 pm #171472Pagan, what is or has to be so hard about it, all in all?
Is it a needle buried in the sand that one has to surf through to find to inject?
Surely this will be all in place, in given Time. That’s what all this is about Ultimately.
Do we just live a life full off Negativity and Doom and Gloom, than Black and White, and Straight Forward Solutions, even in 2020?

20th December 2020 at 10:16 am #172495My turn to duck for cover now folks. Northern Beaches of Sydney under assault from the hidden enemy. Hopefully they’ll be successful with the contact tracing which they are so good at. The days leading up to Christmas are vital and will tell us where it is heading. Might be a very quiet Christmas Day this year.
