3rd November 2020 at 5:29 pm #169610There are signs on ghe front of our local Sainsbury’s saying no toilet rolls.
We’ve been getting Sainsbury’s deliveries every week for months without any problems we’ve got a delivery tomorrow but there’s is now going forwards not one delivery slot available from now until next Tuesday inclusive. Bonkers!!!!

6th November 2020 at 11:09 am #169744Always sad when there’s forced changes made that result to job losses. The alternative option of redundancy is to offer employees an alternative in being upskilled and in Sainsbury’s case, increase labour to support the fulfilment of online grocery orders.
More pickers, more van drivers and more available delivery slots. People do rely on home delivery more than ever for many reasons.

11th November 2020 at 9:24 pm #170123Expected cynicism and critical expression in reaction; I am pleased with ‘A’ Vaccine created in the first place, but ultimately, a sensible approach must be taken and it has to be approved, Medically.

12th November 2020 at 7:46 am #170124I wouldnβt go overboard as of yet about the vaccine . Is it near to being approved or is it just another hope story?
Irelandβs numbers have shot down and the R number is under 1 now
We are coming into our 4th week now. All going well but we back to square one when the restrictions are lifted.
Just want some kind of Christmas

12th November 2020 at 7:57 am #170128Me too Sean problem is I think some kind of Christmas which I suspect is what we’ll get in the UK is likely to send the numbers spiralling up again and it will encourage all the idiots out on to the streets too.
I was at the Hospital in Bristol last week for the day it has to be done but I didn’t want to go as the City of Bristol is now at the level of infections of Liverpool driven by the two Universities in Bristol.

12th November 2020 at 10:01 am #170132There’s a strain more towards the Elderly in the district I work in. They need support, ideally somebody to outreach. Why did our Government close down Community Centers and Libraries? It’s difficult to try and open these though in line with Co-vid Rules.
These poor people don’t have online facilities and need groceries etc. Essential products too like Toasters, Kettles, Microwave Owens, Cookers, Fridges. It’s tough to say the least. We need more mobile Carers and Community Workers to provide pastoral support.

13th November 2020 at 9:19 pm #170190Brian, I’d be the first to Support mate.
The industry I’m in, it’s all about answering to the Shareholders. Profit, Profit, and Profit. It’s become at times unbearable and but maybe I should be grateful to be where I am.

19th November 2020 at 8:20 am #170389Take a long time for the vaccine to roll down to everyone as it is to be given out to those deemed to need it the most first.
On a different note both my Grandsons were sent home from different schools yesterday to self isolate for two weeks as one of the teachers they’ve been in contact with tested positive for Corona virus.

19th November 2020 at 4:17 pm #170407One of the areas I work in is not looking too good at the moment and the rates are rising. I understand it’s in the Top 10 of the Country.

19th November 2020 at 5:39 pm #170408Similar here Nil in the City primarily down to the two Universities and the fact that the students won’t follow the guidelines.
One of my neighbours is a Consultant in one of the local Hospital’s
he told me they put aside two wards for Corona Virus they are now full up as are the ICU ‘s and they’re were clearing an Orthopedic Ward by sending the patience to other Hospitals to make another Covid ward. At the weekend they had to close A and E because if was full of Covid patients. He says this outbreak is a lot worse than the previous one.Roll on the Vacinne and the better weather it’s getting very scary now and Christmas will create another surge imo.

19th November 2020 at 6:35 pm #170410Nine, yeah a Customer was telling me today something similar; the queueing to for the testing station in that particular district. Oadby and Wigston of the Leicestershire area is high. I sense an extended Lockdown.
Once the vaccines are officially approved, it’s the ‘how’ and priority. Setting up either local hubs and essentially putting an emphasis on accessibility and the quickness would really help to deal with all this.
