Young, rich footballers often get a bad reputation. Rashford (as well as several others) show there are exceptions out there. Brilliant stuff
Marcus Rashford in lockdown has:
✅ Started a charity that has raised £20m and helped feed 2.8m kids.
✅ Launched a Christmas box campaign with Selfridges to help the homeless.
✅ Learned sign language to judge a poetry competition at a deaf school. pic.twitter.com/JMsevOB4nS

5th June 2020 at 3:48 pm #113708Ye huge respect to Rashford Ed. Seems a very decent and humble guy
Huge restrictions lifted here in Ireland and we have gone from 5 phases to 4 with everything to hopefully up and running on the 20th of July.
Interesting couple of weeks. My kids can now go to my folks house etc.
Few family gatherings etc. Hopefully the virus stays at bay and we can really push forward

5th June 2020 at 5:32 pm #113709Let’s hope so Sean. Will be good to get back to something resembling normality.

5th June 2020 at 7:47 pm #113715It will happen sooner maybe Nine providing those idiots stay off the beaches country lanes and have protest marches without keeping safe distances. The same people that lambasted Cummins I bet

5th June 2020 at 7:49 pm #113716Rashford does appear to be one of the good guys. Since Utd media are after us about Sterling going to Utd, well, I would take Rashford as part exchange and a Mars bar

5th June 2020 at 8:12 pm #113718Yeah Sean it’s really not the same. I thought I’d have got right into the Bundesliga when it came back but it’s just weird watching it with no fans. Feels like a practice match. I guess it’ll be different when it’s your own team.

5th June 2020 at 8:19 pm #113720I’ve had a couple of looks at the Bundesliga just can’t get into it.
Crowds or not I’m sure I’ll find the PL more intersting when it starts.
Agree with Sean it’s great to be talking football again though.

5th June 2020 at 9:28 pm #113721Ye that’s it lads. It’s just so odd without crowds
I had no appetite at all for the German league. I’ve watched about 10 mins of it
I usually would watch any pl game at anytime but I’m not so sure I’ll be pushed watching some of the games , for instance if burnley were playing Southampton
The good thing is there is loads To play for. Good battle for top 4 and good relegation fight going on. Huge stakes to play for.

6th June 2020 at 1:44 am #113724AnonymousI’ve not been following it but if that’s true about Rashford…. what a guy! I hope and assume it is.
Round of applause for this dude who is self aware enough to know that he can use his image to help people.

6th June 2020 at 8:43 am #113725Morning hope everybody is well.
Just to make a point. Chelsea women are given the league despite being in second place when the season was finished albeit with a game in hand and one point behind. It was given to them on a points per game basis. Can they really be happy? It shows just how difficult it is!_____________________________

6th June 2020 at 9:16 am #113726Morning all, after a feeble attempt to watch Bundesliga which lasted about 4 minutes I’m taking a long break from everything football. I hope you and your families stay safe and well during Covid, cheers lads.

6th June 2020 at 9:32 am #113727Adlab, as a bit of a fan of women’s sport and as such follow the WSL, I can’t say it feels as if Chelsea have won anything. I’d have been happier with, abandoned, no relegation and the teams in the Euro spots qualifying……Pagan

6th June 2020 at 10:58 am #113732Just had protests in three cities in Australia ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 people with no real social distancing possible. Most wore masks however. Our new cases have been a handful a day so hopefully these protest marches have not set off new outbreaks. It was all about Black Lives Count plus the death of Aboriginals in Custody. Great cause but shocking timing right now. I’ll be pissed right off if there is a large outbreak causing us to go back into any form of lockdown.

6th June 2020 at 11:08 am #113733I agree a very unsatisfactory way for the Chelsea Women’s team to have won the title.
That’s the problem with all the ways of settling the League’s someone will be hard done by somewhere. Liverpool were relegated when they might well of got out of it.
“City were a point ahead of Chelsea when the season was suspended but had played a game more, with Chelsea yet to play every team in the league. Both clubs will participate in the Champions League next season and City said they “understand and accept the method used”.
Liverpool, who were bottom on six points, one point behind Birmingham, who had a game in hand, and three points behind Bristol City, are believed to have been the only club to have said they were willing and able to play on. The club expressed disappointment at their relegation.
“We believe we would have been able to meet all operational requirements but a return to play was deemed impractical,” the club said. “We hoped for the opportunity to secure our status on the pitch.” The Guardian 5/06.

6th June 2020 at 1:38 pm #113752Looking at Parliament Square London and there are a mass of thousands and thousands of protesters shoulder to shoulder. Same happened here in Australia today. So much for everyone looking out for each other regarding Covid-19. I 100% believe in the protest subject matter but cannot come to terms with the stupidity of the people totally disregarding social distancing. I wonder if they will feel so courageous when in Intensive Care of a hospital attached to a ventilator.

6th June 2020 at 1:50 pm #113756Unfortunately these protests have happened during a pandemic and whilst we are in a lockdown. But I am not sure what is the best way to sure your anger after the recent number of incidents. George Floyd situation was tip of the iceberg in a spate of recent invents in America.
Breonna Taylor was killed after 3 plain clothed police officers entered her home without a warrant, searching for drugs and not knocking and introducing themselves, she thought they were intruders, she used her legal firearm, which resulted in the officers shooting her 8 times, her boyfriend tried to retaliate and because he reacted, he was charged with attempted murder. The 3 police officers escaped punishment. This happened in March.
Ahmaud Arbery was killed after 2 individuals, 1 being a ex police officer thought he was a burglar in the area. The 2 individuals chased after him and because of his panic, he tried fighting one of them off. Resulting in the other shooting him dead. This happened in February and up until recently the case was dropped.
You then had a woman who was in a park with her dog and a man politely asked her to put her dog on a leash which by law she should have done. She then rang the police and told them that a ‘African American’ was threatening her life, when he did no such thing. It was all caught on camera. This happened a few weeks ago.
You also have a president who called a bunch of armed white men ‘very good people’ after they stormed in to a Michigan capital building, verbally being aggressive towards officers, resulting in the building being shut down for the day after they protested over the lockdown rules. Yet when Black NFL players protested over injustice towards black people by kneeling, he called them sons of bitchs, who should be kicked out. Then in reaction to the recent protests, quoting a racist police officer who was known to openly disdain black people, by saying ‘when the looting starts, the shooting starts’. What happened when he made those comments, some people started looting. There’s only 2 people who have used that phrase, 1 being a racist police officer and the other being the president of the US. When being questioned, he then played dumb and pretended he didn’t know where it came from.
Absolute shambles. Need someone to pull the country together after recent events. You have that clown in office.

6th June 2020 at 1:55 pm #113757Chelsea1967-
Sadly in recent weeks, people have stopped caring about lockdown rules and have openly shown it. You see people on beaches, parks, protesting. They stopped giving a shit pal. In the UK, whether this is a knock on effect after what Cummings did, who knows. But over here and in the US, along with a few other places, they have literally lost their grip in controlling the whole situation. Madness.
