It really is irrelevant if people have done the same as him, unless they too are in a position of authority. They were happy to let that scientist burn at the stake, who most probably had a considerably more valuable input to any advisory group. It comes down to asking why is he indespensible, anyone else would have been sacked for this.

26th May 2020 at 9:50 am #113466I don’t think anyone can question the morals of his actions but what would happen if Joe Public did the same? Would they be let off? I must admit I haven’t followed the story in much detail but hypocrisy is one thing that people usually cannot stand.

26th May 2020 at 10:25 am #113467So sad to hear a former City player, Glyn Pardoe passec away. The youngest player to play for the first team at 16. Part of that wonderful Mercer/Alison team . A real tear in the eye. RIP

26th May 2020 at 12:18 pm #113470Anonymousthreeps – and how many members of the public have been arrested or prosecuted for breaking the rules? i know many people who have and nothing has been done. the people accusing him of hypocrisy are the ones being hypocrites themselves. people are saying its one rule for him and another for everyone else but that just isn’t the case.

26th May 2020 at 12:28 pm #113471Kinda with Paxo on this one. He’s been a bell-end, just as hundreds of thousands of other people have been bell-ends, and just like hundreds of thouasands of other bell-ends, he’s going to get away with it. The other bell-ends really can’t complain about the one.

26th May 2020 at 12:31 pm #113472Paxton – You quite simply have to hold the govt and their advisors to higher standard than Joe Public. Saying you know people who have broken the lock down, I repeat is irrelevant. As Neil Ferguson was forced to resign, so should he. His reasons for breaking the lockdown aren’t valid, even if they are true.

26th May 2020 at 12:38 pm #113474Anonymousi was asked what would happen if joe public did the same. joe public have done the same and been treated far better than Dominic cummings has been.
the circumstances between the two cases are really quite different. cummings was looking out for his family whilst Ferguson was looking to get laid.

26th May 2020 at 12:49 pm #113476Paxton – travelled to see his elderly parents when his wife was suspected of having covid 19. That isnt looking after your family, that’s putting them in danger. His answers dont make any sense.

26th May 2020 at 1:52 pm #113479To be fair Adders, I couldn’t really give much of a toss about the Citizins “enjoyment” of the moment, for me it was far more enjoyable watchign the tears of those Manc’s up in Sunderland. How I larffed…
YooUtd are still #1 on “Banjo’s Teams He Loves to Watch Lose” list, and that was a brilliant one to watch them lose, as they actually won the game but lost the title at the same time!

26th May 2020 at 2:43 pm #113480Paxton..agree with you 100% I also noticed all the photographers never kept social distance either…hypocritical media who should have insisted there employees or sub contractors obey the rules. Lets have some fairness. Why cannot the media get together and say we will have one person interviewing and share the broadcast…no .they will not say that because ,,,,”its me first” “our scoop” etc etc
