Nine, that is my problem and I suspect 442.. we do not want personal opinion but factual analysis without the dramatics. OK, I know I am asking for the near impossible but the quality we see is getting worse and they should be trying to do better. I wonder if the reason is they are trying to build there own image through the job. I do agree with you about neville though, he is successful with his enterprises, I think, so not entirely clueless like most of them Why do we need so many of them on at once, the Budget could be cut in half at a stroke. If we watch the game, we have our own opinion

16th May 2020 at 5:49 pm #113301I will say this though, I see no reason why neutral venues couldn’t be used now, no such thing as home-field advantage, and it might be safer all round to just use 5/6 venues, easier to keep clean/control on fewer venues I would think.

16th May 2020 at 6:12 pm #113307It’s a much much wider issue now than can we complete this season or not.
I’m not sure based on what we saw today that the TV companies won’t lose significant subscribers if playing behind closed doors goes well into next season as well it might with all the repercussions that will ultimately hsve on the Clubs.

16th May 2020 at 6:21 pm #113308Brian, there’s a few I would get rid of before I would get rid of Neville buddie but that’s just my opinion.
My big beef with pundits is they shouldn’t be commenting on their former teams as very few can do it objectively
The beauty though is that we all have a mute button or a turn off switch for those we don’t want to listen too.
Based on what we saw today listening to the pundits might be more exciting than watching the games. π

16th May 2020 at 6:30 pm #113310If weβre going for neutral venues then move all the games to St Georgeβs Park, thereβs already a hotel there and medical facilities, bring in enough temporary accommodation for all the teams and crack on. Personally the game is so far removed from what it should be for me and How the rest of the season was played, if they have to complete the season then Get it over and done with.
No crowds, no gate money, No crowds, awful TV experience, no money. Football as a global cash cow has gone, hopefully it will go back to the working manβs game….Pagan

16th May 2020 at 6:50 pm #113311Seems most agree with my earlier post. 5 minutes and I turned off. Id rather be left with good (and bad) memories rather than watch that. I’ll wait until we get back to normal, which we will in time.

16th May 2020 at 7:30 pm #113314Anonymous442 – clearly you have a lot of hate for harry kane. literally not said anything that could possibly offend anyone or even aired the lightest controversial view about the current situation. or is it just that footballers aren’t allowed any sort of opinion?
maybe you should take your own advice and zip your own lips if you feel that passionately about people being allowed opinions.

17th May 2020 at 4:44 am #113319Adlab over here we are a few weeks ahead of the uk regarding recovery but this is where the uk expects to be when football resumes. You say we are looking at a second wave but our small shops have been open for 3 or 4 weeks and the large ones 2 or 3 and in this city we have between 0 and 10 new cases a day. We rarely have a death and that is for a population of over 1 million.
Some of you are very negative and pessimistic about the future but you are looking at now not how they will hopefully will be in a few weeks. Italy and Spain have had it as hard as the UK and they are now opening up.
As I’ve said many times now life has changed and will remain like this for a while but the best thing to do is to learn to live with the virus, not stop until you hope it goes away. Things, including football, will not be exactly how it was, we must expect compromises. If you are expecting everything to just be how it was before then I pity you as you are going to be very disappointed and negative for a long time.

17th May 2020 at 8:36 am #113323Nine, I was not targeting Neville in particular, but do agree with Pagan’s comments earlier. It is just the amount of nonsensical analysis where they try and make everything a science in what they do…it is a sport and in sport anything can happen usually by accident not design.

17th May 2020 at 8:48 am #113324Apologies threeps if we’re a bit too cautious over here that’s down to the 240,000 confirmed cases and the 34,000 deaths.
A number of families have been touched by the Coronavirus too on Wednesday we say goodbye to the much loved cousin of my wife unfortunately we can’t attend his funeral but we will have it relaid to us virtually. Whilst others have lost close friends sadly both Brian and Shiney on here.
My neighbour who is a Consultant in one of the nearby Hospital was very ill with Coronavirus thankfully he recovered sadly two of his colleagues weren’t as fortunate.
The UK is trying to open up the lockdown England currently being a step ahead of the other three home countries who are being a tad more cautious none of us know in the UK whose right and whose wrong in that regard.
I don’t think there’s a known right way in all of this clearly Germany are in a much better position but my understanding is that social distancing still exists in Germany which you’re picture doesn’t seem to reflect?
We all have the same objective though we want this dreadful thing to be over asap.
Thursday is a big night in our road we all go out and clap the NHS for the incredible job they are all doing and sing a song or two trying to harness the spirit of Major Tom.
We shall overcome
We shall overcome
We shall overcome, some dayOh, deep in my heart
I do believe
We shall overcome, some dayWe’ll walk hand in hand
We’ll walk hand in hand
We’ll walk hand in hand, some dayOh, deep in my heart
I do believe
We shall overcome, some dayWe shall live in peace

17th May 2020 at 12:36 pm #113326Nine I fully understand why the uk is very cautious at the moment but at some point in the near future you will start to take steps back. You will live with the virus. Things like football returning, things like borders opening, families going on holiday etc. are part of that process. Just dont expect it to be exactly how it was last year. I think some on here are harsh with the return of football when it should be known that it wont be perfect but done in small steps.
Yes the situation in the photo shocked me hence why I took and posted it. I didn’t expect Adlab reply saying that a 2nd wave would come as although that may happen the signs are good. His reply seemed to be negative just for the sake of it without any knowledge of the situation or reason.

The reason I mentioned a possible (hopefully not) second wave is based on the propoganda of so many not least of which are here in the UK putting so much store on social distancing.
I hope you have none and then the rest can follow. We do need the economy to start again._____________________________

18th May 2020 at 12:41 pm #113331Think theyβve made the right call, abandon this season to concentrate getting next season up and running.
Still a slim chance Hearts wonβt be relegated as theyβre looking into a larger prem league for one season….Pagan
