Ed,the Season might ultimately get completed if not it would obviously be very very tough on Liverpool and beneficial to relegation threatened Clubs but I really believe you shouldn’t try and colour one season via another.

All very difficult to predict currently though imo things are evolving by the hour. For instance it’s just been announced that 3 Leicester players are showing symptoms of Corona Virus.

All schools and places of education, local clubs, most of the public domain shut down for the next two weeks here in Denmark. Our country is basically in lock down.

As for the footballing part of it, it’s almost unbearable if this great Liverpool side is robbed of winning the title.

If we take a step back and remove the emotion from the situation we’re in, by that I mean forget club bias, if they void the leagues what happens?

Domestically it affects the outright winners, European qualification, the teams relegated and promoted and the money paid out for where you finish. It could also have dire affects on the lower league clubs that rely on gate money to survive.

Europe wise, if there’s no leagues then how would teams then be eligible for the next seasons competitions, this could mean no European tournaments next year. This then begs two big questions, do the TV companies get their money back and how will the usual qualifiers who rely on the monies these competitions cope financially without that cash. FFP would need to be suspended for next season at the very least.

The cancellation of leagues is something that all in the game would have to take on the chin for the greater good of society, but the ramifications it will cause by doing will take some sorting out at all levels…..Pagan

Agree with most comments. Not much alternative but to suspend competition everywhere.
Football must give a lead to stress the importance of no crowds etc.

CL and EL bound to be called off. Utd game today utterly pointless ditto Wolves.

Perhaps play CL and EL instead of Euros.

Pagan, if the League’s were all voided they would revert to last season’s positions for qualification assuming we’ve got Corona Virus under control by next Season both the CL and the EL would be back on schedule.

Pagan…that is the biggest worry…the smaller clubs, Banks unlikely to be sympathetic, FA will not cough up any meaningful financial support. This affects so many down the support chain as well
The game should be big enough to offer support, I do not see the TV or betting companies in a hurry to offer anything after reaping in the millions
