8th March 2019 at 7:07 am #35174I see Felleni II (it’s a hair thing) is getting a bit of grief about his tracking back skills, didn’t look good to me.

8th March 2019 at 7:31 am #35175Has anything actually changed at Arsenal? It feels like Wenger’s Arsenal all over again

8th March 2019 at 7:56 am #35176Thatβs what I was saying last week before the spurs game.
They can look great at home but no balls for a real fight away.
They turned up at Wembley but the pen was typical arsenal. Last min derby and they miss it.
Emery makes some strange team selections. He needs time. They need to learn how to defend
They have some excellent attacking players.
Stevo, whatβs your view on ozil? Really gifted player but another lad who had no balls to get stuck in and just Saunders around

8th March 2019 at 8:05 am #35177Its an odd situation, we have some gifted players and lots and lots of dross, especially defensivly
we have not been good defensivly for a very long time and no one has addressed this key issuelittle has changed and frankly we need a real overhaul, not just of the team but the ethos within the club, we need a mentality change, it could come from a manager, but it would need to be supported by the board and owner
we are not terrible but we are very average, Emerys first season though and things take time, will wait a bit longer but i also think he makes some odd team selections, cant genuinley see us beating united this Sunday either but would be a nice tonic, maybe the lads can actually turn up for this one at least.
As for Ozil, he is past it now, unless a team is literally moulded around him to play to his strengths and cover his weaknesses, he does cover ground but he will never stick his foot in! he needs to go along with a good few others
we seem a team of misfits these days

8th March 2019 at 8:38 am #35178Starting to think they are the new Spuds of old, namely you never know what version is going to show up!! Capable of beating anyone on their day, just no level of consistency (or certainly not at the levels you would expect from the 3rd biggest team in London π ).

8th March 2019 at 8:51 am #35179i know and now you are the new Arsenal of old! win nothing, look good but ultimatly choke and build a shiney new stadium and stop investing in your team….;)
the way things are neither of us will finish top 4 and it would just be like your lot to finish 5th in a 3 horse race, like when you finished 3rd in a 2 horse race π

8th March 2019 at 9:01 am #35181The sending off changed the game and it was a hell of a hit following the free kick for the equaliser.
I still think the away goal that Arsenal scored might be enough to to see them go through next week.

8th March 2019 at 9:48 am #35182it could happen 999 but i cant see us winning this even if we did get through, would be happy to go out IF we got top 4 but otherwise im not overly fussed at the minute, any changes needed at the club either wont happen or will happen very slowly so im not expectin great things for a few years at least

8th March 2019 at 9:55 am #35183Stevo, yes going out of the EL could help you in getting a top 4 place. Still think you’ll make the Qtr Finals.

8th March 2019 at 11:13 am #35186An ideal scenerio (for me!) would be the Goonies and Chelski finish 5th & 6th in the Prem and then both make the Final of Small Ears… I’d watch that game!

8th March 2019 at 11:52 am #35188Iβm not surprised by that Nine, UEFA were always going to back their referee in such a situation. The wording of the rule in terms of the βnatural silhouetteβ is partly to blame because the PSG defender was running towards the ball and jumping to block it so your arms are always going to be somewhat more elevated to help your balance. That is still arguably a natural position, so as I said there is no context given to this.
But perhaps UEFA would have been better stating to teams that players can no longer try and block shots with their bodies because that seems to be the only logical outcome of the position they have now boxed themselves into – i.e. how can you jump and block a shot with your hands firmly close to your side??

8th March 2019 at 1:16 pm #35190Mikus, agree with everything you say above. There’s going to be a shed load of penalties next season that are going to change games.

8th March 2019 at 1:53 pm #35191Cannot believe that some people ask:what is going on with Arse! Its very simple-they need to rebuild their team, simple!! After 22 years of AW,they have to invest in new players.Cech,Monreal,Kocs,Wellbeck,Mikhi,Ramsey-they all need replacing,Lichteiner is a geriatric,Ozil situation needs sorting out!! Mustafi,Xhaka & Iwobi are nothing more than squad player,so it leaves a few windows to sort all the mess AW left behind.Simples!!!
