Interesting that Clattenburg says UEFA are working to completely different guidelines on penalties than the PL and last night pen wouldn’t have been given in the PL.

7th March 2019 at 8:04 am #35068Utd deserved to go through last night
Look at the team they had out. Brilliant win for them
As for Tuchel, he gets paid millions for managing a team that is full of pompous millionaires who dive around the place. Iβve never seen a worse team then psg for playing acting
Horrible team who Iβm glad are out

7th March 2019 at 8:06 am #35069Fantastic result for United. Again I didn’t see the game, so did they deserve it? Now it looks like the only English team to go out could be my lot!
For the first time in over 40 years, I’m in a real quandary. Manu have a manager whom I don’t loathe!! OGS comes across as a really decent guy, passionate about United without being arrogant, coming across really well in the media, and looks like hes please tdo be there, unlike a few of his recent predecessors. It’s an uncomfortable feeling for me liking a United manager. I feel dirty!
Anyway congrats to United and the boys on here. Let’s hope we can make it a clean sweep for English clubs next Wednesday, though I doubt it somehow!

7th March 2019 at 8:26 am #35070“Deserved to go through”? PSG were hard done by imo and their own worst enemy gifting United two goals but United were injury stricken and Pogba less but hung on in there and then got that penalty?
Spooky??

7th March 2019 at 8:27 am #35071Franly if we are honest it was great result but also a lucky one, though you need luck at times, reading the united page on the other forum and youd think they had just won the whole thing!
OGS has done more than get results he has instilled a different charachter to this team and makes me nervous for sunday

7th March 2019 at 8:32 am #35073Looks like there will be some PL match ups in the Qtr Finals which is a shame because you always want to face non PL opposition.

7th March 2019 at 9:28 am #35074Banjo texted and said he’s never heard of ya!!
Anybody who claims anything other than YooUtd being damn lucky last night should move to Malmo, and anybody who suggests YooUtd aren’t the luckiest buggers around ANWYAY should be carrying their bags.
The YooUtd Luck Account is severely overdrawn and has been for years!

7th March 2019 at 9:55 am #35076It will certainly be an interesting draw next week with perhaps 4 PL teams in it who could all get drawn against each other.

7th March 2019 at 10:04 am #35077First, I thought Utd deserved to win. PSG made twp awful mistakes and we had cheat after cheat. The problem for PSG is that they are playing in a league with little week in week ou competition.
The Penalty. If the one we suffered against Shalke was one so was last night. Its not VAR at fault but the interpretation of the handball rule. Most of us dont think it was a penalty but it was given the current interpretation.
It would be great to see all four English teams in the quarters. Liverpool can win in Munich._____________________________

7th March 2019 at 10:22 am #35078Adlab, I actually do think VAR is a contributory factor regardless of interpretation. I think it causes referees to concentrate to the point of tunnel vision on the actual incident and so they donβt look at the context/big picture of the situation. They donβt see the wood for the trees. I think itβs an awful thing and whilst thereβs nothing we can do to now stop it I just hope they adjust things and learn big lessons on how to try and get the best out of it, though I think itβs a fundamentally flawed thing for the reasons above.

7th March 2019 at 10:47 am #35083AnonymousOnce again United scrape through via devious methods. Last minute penalties is the story of Fergusons life and now its all coming back again.

7th March 2019 at 11:30 am #35088Also interesting – Had VAR not been adopted last night, Man Utd would not have broken this record. VAR is literally changing the game.
1 – Manchester United are the first team in Champions League history to progress to the next round having lost by two or more goals at home in the first leg of a knockout match. Incredible. #PSGMUN
