Hell of a penalty by Rashford given the pressure although the pen looked more than a bit harsh to me.
I can see United even going on to win it now. Just give him the job.

6th March 2019 at 10:04 pm #35045Fortunate pen as he was jumping but I can see why it was given
Full credit to utd who were struggling to field a team. Massive result for them

6th March 2019 at 10:08 pm #35046Sorry but I think thatβs a ridiculous decision. Is the PSG defender supposed to jump, at speed, to block a shot with his hands by his side?? VAR = Pandoras Box.

6th March 2019 at 10:09 pm #35048AnonymousI actually think it was a penalty but it took me a few looks. The first couple of times I thought no way. I can see why people say it isn’t and I’m not even completely sure of my own stance. It’s just one of those one that you really would need to be able to read players minds to be 100% sure.

6th March 2019 at 10:11 pm #35050It’s one of those strange ones where it’s probably a pen going by the rules so you can understand why it’s given. The ref is there to ensure the rules are adhered to. If anything, it’s the rules that are wrong. I’d be disappointed if that was given against us

6th March 2019 at 10:12 pm #35051Love Rio as a pundit. “It wasn’t a panslty don’t get me wrong I love it was a penalty.” π

6th March 2019 at 10:14 pm #35052? Again, it makes you question the rules though when every pundit wondered how it could have been a pen but the resident ex-ref was of no doubt that it was indeed a pen

6th March 2019 at 10:15 pm #35054Youβd have to give the defender the benefit of the doubt there. Itβs not like he had his arms out stretched. It may be a penalty by the fact that ball hit the defenders arm, but then wisdom should kick in to look at it in context. If this is the future God help us.

6th March 2019 at 10:21 pm #35056Well done United, especially so having so many out.
Congrats to all the United lads on here.
On the penalty, if the one given against Otamendi a couple of weeks ago is a pen, then that has to be too.
Glad PSG are out – that’s them, RM, Dortmund, hopefully BM and one of Juve or AM – who’d have thought it?_____________________________

6th March 2019 at 10:31 pm #35058It’s opened it up gj that’s for sure and there will probably be 3/4 PL trams in the Qtr Finals. Only negative is that it will probably see them drawn against each other. Pre this game the odds on an English team winning it was 11/8 it will be a lot shorter now.

6th March 2019 at 10:55 pm #35061That decision might well have been a βSliding Doorsβ type timeline defining moment for Tuchel if so Nine. And Iβd actually have some sympathy with him if that was the case.

7th March 2019 at 5:57 am #35062Eddy, you sure weren’t unlucky with those two penatly calls Southamption didn’t get last Saturdays, and you sure weren’t unlucky when the Spuds battered you like fish ‘n chips at Wembly (although they were the only other two games I watched those Norffern Monkeys play).

7th March 2019 at 7:19 am #35065Spurs battered us? ?. We should have been out of sight by half time. Spurs came into the game with about half an hour left and we hung on, for sure. But we easily deserved that win. Not sure if you watched the whole Utd Southampton game but the ref was terrible. Each side should have had a penalty which wasn’t given, granted. We’ve had awful cup draws. PSG, probably the strongest side in the competition. Arsenal (who made spurs look poor on Sat) away followed by Chelsea away in the cup.
Like I said, I’m not for a minute saying we’ve been unlucky but the kind of fortune Spurs had on Sat is something we’ve not had for a while!
