Yeah that’s it Mikus. While ever there’s no outstanding candidate and we’re progressing in the league, I don’t see what the benefit would be of sacking him. I remain convinced he’s not the right manager for us but there’s really no rush to get him out while we’re gradually improving and securing CL football. None of the names out there who might be interested fill me with any enthusiasm.

I reckon United are all but nailed on to win the EL I can’t see who can stop them which would probably result in a new and even more lucrative contract for Ole which if nothing else gives United stability.

We’re around about evens money so there’s plenty of money to be made for anyone who genuinely thinks we’re nailed on Nine! Whilst we should have enough to win it, Arsenal have taken 4 points off us this season, Villarreal and Roma can’t be taken for granted. To put it into context, Utd are just about the same odds to win the EL as Chelsea are to get top 4 and I’m sure nobody would say that’s nailed on yet either.

Nobody would have thought City would get knocked out of the CL by 7th place in the French league last season and they did. Cup competitions have a habit of throwing up surprises. Who would have thought Arsenal would have won the FA Cup last season?

Yeah you’re right Ed you can never tell in Cup competitions.

I’m not sure though you can compare the Club’s in the race for the top 4 with the the Club’s likely to be in the Semi Finals of the EL.

The quality of the Club’s competing for the top 4 are a much higher quality than those left in the EL United aside but it’s still definitely not a gimme.

I would be amazed though if United don’t win it from here.

No, I’m not not comparing the clubs in either scenario Nine. I’m simply saying the likelihood of Utd winning the EL is, according to the bookies, about the same as the likelihood of Chelsea getting top 4. It’s not a case of comparing clubs. Of course the situations are entirely different. The quality of competition is indeed higher in Chelsea’s case in the fight for top 4 but it’s also much easier to slip up in a cup competition. 1 bad game and you’re as good as out. As we saw at the weekend with Chelsea, one bad game and you’re still in the fight, and against much inferior squads, too.

I wish I shared your optimism but people were saying the same last season in the Europa League when we reached the semis as well as when City got knocked out of the FA Cup.

Ed, yep Cup games can throw up results you don’t expect as we saw in Istanbul with United but over two legs it’s not as likely as the second leg proved.

United are stronger than every side left in the competition I’m sure they’ll get to the Final and over one game although there’s more of a chance of an upset I don’t think it will happen and United will win it from here.

Just my opinion though Ed for what it’s worth and I’ve been wrong plenty of times before.😊

Europa is the 3rd best trophy for me. Comes before the fa cup in my view.

Agree with nine. I’ll be amazed if they don’t win it.

2nd and Europa be massive ed mate. Ole needs that first trophy.

Didn’t do much for sarri at Chelsea or Jose at utd though Sean, best ole stays clear of Europe league success, will ensure he is sacked next year as will never beat 2nd and Europe league trophy and so would no longer be able to demonstrate progress 🙂

Sari clearly want not the man for Chelsea and Jose lost the plot

2nd Europa is progress for utd as they really had regressed under jose in his last season. It’s a total rebuild but he needs to win the league soon. That’s what it’s all about for utd.

Sean, whilst I think United will win the Europa League they will imo need a couple of really good Summer transfer windows to win the PL and like the Ed I’m not sure Ole is the right man to bring it off either.

If we don’t go through being 2 nil up from the first leg then we don’t deserve to go through to the Semi Finals imo.

Good set piece defending to the high ball I think will be crucial tomorrow.

I’m a bit concerned about Tuchel’s concerns re Kante and his injury I think we really need him tomorrow night but we don’t want to lose him for a long period either fingers crossed for both Kante being available and the game.

It certainly won’t be a walk in the park and we’ll have to be at our very best fingers crossed.🤞

What a goal that Porto forward scored lucky for us it came in the very last minute of the game. Reece should have challenged him though instead of watching him. Not really a great game at all and I don’t expect Chelsea to get to the final but still live in hope.
