I’m going to play devil’s advocate here and suggest possibly Pool’s success last year was down to the more “Gung-Ho” approach they were operating under which caught a few Euro’s teams out a little bit. This year there is an element of slight reservations in this approach, which I think many Euro teams would prefer.
Obviously, they could dial it up a bit, but I think if Pool reach the semi’s they’ll be doing bloody well but I would be surprised if they matched or even bettered last years run to be honest.

Agree Hightown Juve are just about there. City favorites for me and about 5 teams ahead of us
Byaren are still
A very good team but as nine says a lot. Anything can change in two months and the worst thing that can happen is that kovac is sacked soon_____________________________

18th December 2018 at 2:11 pm #29675AnonymousIt’s hard to say that we will match last seasons run. Even if we’re better overall and with a better chance of winning the tournament than this time last season, it’s still a huge order. Van Dijk missing for the first game could be a big problem alright, I’d briefly forgotten about that.

18th December 2018 at 2:16 pm #29677Anonymousi think though, besides Dortmund we might be the only undefeated team from the top leagues. I havent checked recently and don’t have time now but we’ve also got the fewest goals against i think? We’re definitely up there in the top form teams and for me, we’re only going to get better… and have been improving and clicking together more and more. Obviously luck with injuries (and bans!!) could be crucial but I won’t best around the bush, we’re very high up there right now and will have to deal with the pressures involved. I see it as an advantage that we’re no longer playing gung-ho football where we are leaking goals at the back. I said before, once the attack gets its act together, we’ll be a serious force and it’s happening. We’re nowhere near last season but we’re closer to it than we were a month ago. I wouldn’t write us off too soon, or fall for any ideas that lasts eason was an anomaly. The Pl is back and the top few teams are a lot better than they were. I think we’ll see a PL winner this season.

18th December 2018 at 2:26 pm #29680Aren’t Dortmund unbeaten in all competitions whilst Liverpool have been beaten 4 times in all competitions.
Time will tell and I think Liverpool are in with a good shout in both the PL and the CL but as Hightown sensibly suggests “let’s not get ahead of ourselves”.

18th December 2018 at 4:52 pm #29703My mistake Mav still only one defeat though and after they beat Atletico 4 nil. Is there an unbeaten Club in Europe?
