9th May 2019 at 9:38 am #40498All the pressure is on Liverpool for this final
We badly need to win it as does Klopp. He has lost his last 6 finals. The club has lost its last 4.
Spurs are in their 1st ever final. Such a tough game.
We just need to get everyone fit. Play like we can and we have a huge chance
Form, league table goes out the window
Iβm at a wedding that night and was at a wedding when we lost Europa league final
Iβll enjoy the build up now. Really didnβt think we be in the final so just going to relax now ?

9th May 2019 at 10:14 am #40499Fantastic from Spuds, and another heroic perfo from them after the City game! So then,Moura,Son & Eriksen cost slightly more than Martial-combined,disco Sissikkoo & Victor Bananarama cost LESS than the fucking emoji man,and all of em above PLUS the best striker in the world Sir H.Kane-earn less than fucking Sanchez-combined???
So one of Poch or Klopp will be CL winners this year, silly for the likes of Sterling,Walker & wee Phil to leave,God knows if they will ever come even close to winning @ their respective club, funny old game,eh
saint?
Btw,those who still wonder as to what Dele Alli brings to a team,he brings a damn lot to this current Spuds team-they all do-they fit in perfectly!
Anybody seen or heard from my sexy Kylie??? After last night I was hoping….. I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky lucky…._____________________________

9th May 2019 at 11:09 am #40501Anonymous“Last night I was convinced that Liverpool would go on and win it especially if they played Ajax in the Final. Now I havenβt got a clue who will win it.?”
Ya, just glad people aren’t assuming we’ll do it. Spurs are a side that we’ve struggle with. I’m always confident in the quality of Klopp/the lads etc and they’ve got the experience of last seasons CL final, minus the lunatic keeper.
I would give us a very slight edge in odds but that’s it. 55 : 45 in our favour, so almost the toss of a coin. I definitely think we’d have had a better shot at Ajax, even with them being a dark horse.
I think Spurs looked knackered last night, we ourselves have looked leggy recently too. with only 1 game in between here and the final, we’ll have plenty of rest, will it actually be too much though?

9th May 2019 at 11:23 am #40502Mak, I think Liverpool are favourites given the quality of their season and the fact that they have the experience of playing in the Final last season but on their day with everyone fit this Spurs side is capable of beating anyone.
Should be a great Final especially for us neutrals.
But it’s a very difficult Final to call and injuries might yet play a part with both teams with a few weeks to go.

9th May 2019 at 11:41 am #40503AnonymousExactly, which is why I’ve said it’s very tight. The talk previously (form everywhere) had been “the winner comes from the Liverpool Barca side” and that is a very quick way to end up beaten in a final. Spurs have been a tough opponent this season for us, so I know the players and manager will take them dead seriously but just wanted to nip that in the bud and I hope it’s done all over. If I hear the media proclaiming that Liverpool have surely got to win this or any such rubbish…
I’#d also like us to forget how many cup finals we’ve lost. You have a high chance of taking one if you qualify for 3-4 but you’ve no right to do it just because of that.
i cant remember the LC final but I think we didnt turn up. We didn’t turn up for the Europa League cup final and we were the victim of martial arts and a retarded keeper in last seasons. Besides those things, we were definitely the better team against Real.
that’s just how it is. I cant wait for the final and I have mixed feelings regards Spurs. Im absolutely delighted for them. I only wish that we weren’t standing in each-others way here. I would like to see them win the CL with Poch but not against us!… it’ll have to be over our dead bodies I’m afraid π

9th May 2019 at 11:42 am #40504Wow my respect for this spurs outfit just grows & grows. City win the EPL & itβs no big deal or surprise but for this team that has spent nothing in comparison to rivals & has very little depth, has uncertainty with the manager & missed key players for large chunks of the season theyβve done an unbelievable job to be where they are. Like Sean I think they deserved to win at Anfield & Iβd have much fathered play Ajax than them. I obviously hope we get to hold the trophy but wouldnβt begrudge them if they win it, theyβve certainly done it against the odds.

9th May 2019 at 12:09 pm #40505Ajax reminded me a bit of Arsenal under Wenger at times. Technically very very good, but just lacking that physicality to cope with Spurs. Indeed it was almost a metaphor for the game the way the Ajax players collapsed like a set of bowling pins after the last minute winner. They just couldnβt hold out any longer.
Tough final ahead for us. As Mak says above weβre slight favourites and I think we have a bit more flair in attack. However, Spurs have shown themselves to be extremely resolute in this yearβs competition and in Son and Moura, and others, have their own big game match winners. Both Klopp and Poch have pretty mixed records in big games. Does Klopp press high and early on? Not sure – you can imagine a conservative approach for the opening half from both. I doubt either side will want to risk knackering themselves out early on. Getting that balance right in the approach will be key. The way Liverpool went about the game in Munich is probably the best approach to go for: solid, efficient and very effective.

9th May 2019 at 12:47 pm #40506Mikus I find it no surprise when we had to go heavy metal v Barca they couldnβt go with us & we destroyed them. I know this could go on the unpopular thread but itβs literally our last game of the season & Iβd love to see us all out go at them like we did Barca. Press high from the get go & go at them. I know we will go for a more balanced approach but I honestly donβt think they could go with us if we went heavy matal.

9th May 2019 at 2:06 pm #40507Loved the Spurs fan interviewed in Amsterdam today on Sky Sports.
“I’ve already said to my missus’ Doll I’m sorry to tell you but that Bank account is going to get used big time so when you see a few grand going out if it this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us boys 60 years old I am this year and I’ve never seen my team play in a Champions League Final so I’m there whatever. Even if I’ve got to go and rob a Bank”
Brilliant just brilliant.?

9th May 2019 at 2:07 pm #40508Aussie, those too were my first feelings (and as I said recently we probably should have pressed a bit more in some games this season because itβs such a strength of ours). But in a final itβs all about managing the momentum. If we went 2-0 up fairly quickly and then tired a bit second half and the game drifted and then Spurs get one back – the momentum would then be with Spurs at a critical moment in the match. Whereas if we can go 1-0 up say in the first half, then again later in the second half, it just keeps the momentum with us. And thatβs whatβs key in a final.

9th May 2019 at 2:39 pm #40515Stevo, Chucky has been given a bit of a chasing by Mick but he’s far too resilient to let that bother him too much.
Given the achievement of Spurs reaching the CL Final and the incredible way Spurs did it you would have expected him to have posted by now.
Like you I hope everything is ok with him and his.
