Mak… nobody was talking about the Ajax match because there wasn’t a lot to talk about. Spuds got schooled for 35 minutes or so, were lucky to be only losing by one, then the change due to injury was made and the match got a lot more even between the teams. Spuds have some half chances from set pieces, and seemingly unsettled Ajax a bit (certainly a bit more than they did in the first 35 minutes!) by playing a bit more direct. Will hopefully play a lot better next week, will have Son back, know a bit more about how Ajax play, and if they score first, it’s game on… all us Spuds are pretty much in agreement and despite the off-side being incredibly close for the goal, there really isn’t much to
whinedebate! 🙂I’ll stick my neck out here and say whoever scores first is going through in that game!!

4th May 2019 at 2:56 pm #39847Liverpool face a massive task but it’s not totally impossible especially should they score early although I can’t see Barca not scoring which would then make it even harder for Liverpool.
I’ve got a sneaky feeling Spurs might pull it back at Ajax who have a Cup Final to contend with tomorrow ahead of Wednesday’s game. But if Ajax score first it might be a long way back.
In the EL can Chelsea keep a clean sheet and take their chances at the other end they should have won in Frankfurt and can the Arsenal defence hold out in Valencia?
Massive week of football Monday to Thursday kicked off on Monday night by City v Leicester.

4th May 2019 at 4:45 pm #39853The benefits of dominating a joke league. It has indeed been a one-team league! I reckon teams like Leicester or Wolves would have finished 2nd.

4th May 2019 at 4:51 pm #39855La Liga doesn’t go as deep as the PL and Real are going through a transitional period currently but the two Madrid teams and Barca dominate the top of the table consistently and all three have done well in Europe over the last few seasons.
Apart from the unlikely Leicester title win three teams have dominated the PL title all the way back to 2003.

5th May 2019 at 8:37 am #39917AnonymousNine, there’s not a lot I can do to backup thus claim but I think the PL is generally if a higher standard. I bet we’d do better in Europe if we could choose when to rest our side for the coming CL match.
But let’s talk money. The teams outside the big 3 get a tiny fraction of the tv money. Compare that to the PL that has had a much fairer distribution.

5th May 2019 at 8:42 am #39919Ironically, as much as I am against a Euro League, I do also think English team would do pretty well as they’re a lot more used to the idea of a lot of games against decent opposition.

5th May 2019 at 8:48 am #39920AnonymousAgreed. I am also generally against it. I won’t lie and say that it would be interesting… just too much to sacrifice though.

5th May 2019 at 10:12 am #39927Not concerned about Tuesday. Just need to get a bit of pride back.
No Salah or firmino. Just to win the game be huge. Give them a scare but they will score.

5th May 2019 at 11:53 am #39938AnonymousYa, it’s done. The lads are tired. We should rest them and give ourselves some chance of taking the title against wolves.
I guess we’ll see now with Leicester. They can male Klopps decision process a bit easier by taking points off city.

6th May 2019 at 3:31 pm #40090Chelsea picking up lots of injuries now to key players Rudiger, Hudson Odoi both out for the rest of the Season now Kante joins Ampadu.
Hopefully if we can get past Eintracht Kante might be fit for the Final on the 29th May touch and go though.

6th May 2019 at 4:13 pm #40092This season is very seemingly turning into an episode of “The Walking Dead”…
Trying to remember if 4 years ago it was the same after the last World Cup but I can’t really remember that far back, to be honest. But everybody really seems to be suffering…
