You can’t complain about the same teams winning trophies Nil yet at the same time laud Liverpool’s dominance of the 70’s and the 80’s when they were winning trophy after trophy.
The is probably Messi’s last chance at winning the CL and probably Barca’s for sometime too Messi can’t go on for ever just like Xavi and Iniesta and players of their quality are almost impossible to replace.

the guy is a phenomenon and we are all privileged to have been around to see him play. I will consider myself privileged if I live to witness the finding of a cure for a major disease that is killing millions of people every year,not a footballer who gets paid about $150m every year.Sorry 27,not with you on this one.

ok Dr NIck you are of course right…but not in the same context now is it, i for one purely as a football fan DO feel privaleged to see the likes of Messi and Ronaldo play as they do, i was to young for Pele and very young for Maradonna to fully appreciate….on a sporting , lover of football aspect we wont see the like of messi for a good long while…..
id hope for a cure to a major disease out of a choice of the 2 though! as i know damn well 999 would

The only difference between the 2 teams was indeed-MESSI! This current Barca team are on their last legs,with the likes of Pique,Alba,Busquets,Rakitic,Vidal and Suarez all dead on their feet! Without the ET that is Messi they are anvery average side indeed! That 3-0 score flatters Barca,and yes,it should have been 5 @ the end,only for Dembele being silly.

reading so much hatred for Suarez after he scored and his “antics”….. i just dont get it, he is the same player he has always been IMHO the good and bad parts of his game
it was a great goal scored at home in CL semi and he celebrated…and thats disrespectful to liverpool?
he makes the most of challeges?seriously as much as i do like and respect liverpool and many of their fans they dont gelp themselves with some of the stuff they caome out with and the vitriol and feeling of being hard done by by all the powers that be….im sure it was never like that for everyone else in the 70s & 80’s π

Sean mate, from what i have read here and the other place, most non liverpool fans that dont have an anti liverpool agenda have said it was a flattering score line, you played well and although 3-0 flattered it could well have been 5….it could also have been 5-3 with the chances you missed and i have seen that too…you were very unlucky not to score, and just 1 goal and you are still well in the tie and obviously would have changed the nature of the ga,e and the result, thing is though, as well as you did play the chances were missed as were the 2 that could have made it 5, its the nature of the beast….i know you must feeling so annoyed and i dont blame you but you played so well its just “one of those”….

Sean, the “could have been 4 nil” relates to Barca already being 3 nil up and Dembelle missing a sitter in the last minute of added time.
I think if you read all the posts on here you will find that the majority agree that 3 nil flattered Barca.

Anyway, it’s pointless to play the coulda/woulda/shoulda game (when it comes to football, not cancer!). Sure, it could have been 5-2 in Barca and 4-3 at White Hart Lane if various headers/shots/flops/freekicks to 2 inches in another direction, but the very simple facts are it was 3-0 in Barca, leaving Pool with a very larger mountain to climb, and 0-1 at White Hart Lane, leaving Spuds with more of a hill with a very rocky path to climb…

Steveo, read on TT and you will see pretty much the same. Suarez is no legend for me. He’s a selfish thoughtless piece of *insert the word/s*. No true ex-Liverpool player having any sort of care and respect would do that.
He will not be welcomed at Anfield I truly hope.
