Hmmn: The law of averages may suggest City winning one of these meetings at the Ethiad, but maybe Tottenham will hold them in the League; wishful thinking 😛

9th April 2019 at 10:03 pm #37224City tactically played it as a two legged European game which is what it obviously was last season they were out of the Qtr Finals after the first leg and they didn’t want to make that same mistake again.
I think they will need all their big players back to make sure they go through though.

9th April 2019 at 10:07 pm #37227Liverpool should have killed that game
Don’t like city losing. That’s their defeat out of the way

9th April 2019 at 10:13 pm #37230Sean, I think as far as psychology and evidence of what we’ve seen tonight goes, that should give opposition teams confidence.
Biased and as wishful as I come, I could see something like this at Old Trafford.
People forget in the League, they’ve actually suffered 4 defeats.

9th April 2019 at 10:13 pm #37231I stated previously that City were beginning to get a bit leggy and when that happens concentration dips, hence the Spurs goal. I thought it was a strange team Pep put out, City certainly lacked KDB and Bernado..a wake up for the week end All is not lost, get Sane and Sterling on the wings, bring KDB and Bernado back and will Mendy be able to put 90 minutes in?

9th April 2019 at 10:35 pm #37232Pep still smiling in his post match interview and rightly focussed on the Palace game first.

10th April 2019 at 12:21 am #37234Can’t see from this link anything.
Big mistake all in all to hire somebody that has an affiliation with any of the ‘Big 6’.
Online, Tim Sherwood is salty as anything towards Liverpool.

10th April 2019 at 6:58 am #37236i actually thought was a hell of a boring game to watch for the (not so) neutral……
Jenas was woeful last night, totally biased commentary, gald i wasnt the only one to think so…why dont they keep former players away from punditry of these games?
not all over but i think the number of games are starting to affect City now….few injuries and fatigue…

10th April 2019 at 8:04 am #37239As for our game, I thought it was a good professional performance without ever hitting the heights. Would have been nice to get the third to kill the tie off, but a nil victory in the quarter finals of the Championss League is okay with me. And there’s a game on Sunday that will be very tough and needs winning, so I can understand why we eased off in the second half.
I thought Henderson, Bobby and Keita were our stand out players, and with Keita scoring in successive games now, perhaps we do have a player after all. And a special word for two players who do not get alot of praise…Milner, asked once again to fill in at left back, worked tirelessly (where does he get his energy from?) and Lovren, in his first game for a while, had a good solid game. With Gomez back on the bench, we once again have options at centre back. Would have liked to have seen Shaq come on instead of Sturridge for the last 10 or 15 minutes, just to prove he is still at the club, but, hey ho, a good night, all in all
…and City still have a lot of work to do in their second leg!

10th April 2019 at 8:12 am #37240And Porto had a Torres and a Soares playing for them last night. I know Soares is spelt differently, but it made me laugh when the teams were read out over the tannoy last night!

10th April 2019 at 9:00 am #37243Under the new UEFA rules that looked like handball from TAA too surprised VAR didn’t review it.
There are going to be so many penalties in the PL next season with VAR if the UEFA rules are applied to the PL in the same way.
