19th April 2019 at 9:57 am #38109We are only judging Pep from his tenure @ Bayern[3 years, right?],and to City so far! Winning the BL title with Bayern-even Nil on Friday night can do it,period! My Bayern Munich supporting friends, were esctatic when Pep left-they were sick with just him being present there, consider him to be the biggest fraud in football management. They kept saying?: he belongs in England they tolerate all sorts of failures.i.e.Wenger! In Germany there is no time & place for serial underachievers! They did not hire Pep to just win the BL title-their league is a one-club league!

19th April 2019 at 10:06 am #38111Ed-Thats why I wrote/said about not wanting to engage with any City fans about this issue,I know they are still struggling to accept how Poch spanked Pepe, lol.
And yes,I know we got sexy-spanked by Messi, again! So sexy and kinky in fact, even Banjo s sisters are left speechless, and that takes some doing with them naughty Aussie nymphos,I tell ya.

19th April 2019 at 10:10 am #38112And btw,27 and I are just engaging in a civilsed,friendly,grown-ups convo, with the aim of generating more discourse.
I remember doing the same thing on TT chelsea s page, regarding the values that JOM brings/brought to any team, and 9 and I were involved in a quite a few long & heated debates.
So,9-I still believe JOM was crap,lol._____________________________

19th April 2019 at 10:28 am #38115You’ve got two types for football managers in the world… you’ve got those who are actually football managers, and then you’ve got those who are fortunate enough to play real-life “FOOTBALL MANAGER” with all the cheat codes… the only debate is who is who… π

19th April 2019 at 11:27 am #38120Nine, do you think Chelsea will sack Sarri at the end of the season? Or will an EL victory and/or top 4 finish save him? And who would you have come in if he is sacked?
Interesting to look at the current top runners and riders via SkyBet (suspect Ancelotti, Benitez and Ten Hag should also be on that list):
Steve Holland 7/4
Frank Lampard 4/1
Diego Simeone 5/1
Gianfranco Zola 6/1
Massimilano Allegri 12/1
Nuno EspΓrito Santo 12/1
Jose Mourinho 14/1
Arsene Wenger 16/1
Brendan Rodgers 16/1
Laurent Blanc 16/1
Guus Hiddink 20/1
Steve Clarke 20/1
Didier Deschamps 25/1
Eddie Howe 25/1
John Terry 25/1
Luis Enrique 25/1
Marcelo Bielsa 25/1
Mikel Arteta 28/1
Antonio Conte 33/1

19th April 2019 at 1:52 pm #38121Mikus, very difficult to sensibly answer currently mate. Personally I think it goes deeper than Sarri winning the EL or qualifying for the top 4.
The big question that the owner and the Board will want to decide on is is Sarri the right man to take the Club forward then there’s the question of the transfer ban and whether Chelsea can get it suspended or not either way if Sarri was to go that would open up a different perspective either way and probably different managerial prospects.
Maybe one clue is that Sarri spoke to the Board about triggering Giroud’s one year option at Chelsea and if he wasn’t staying would he be involved in taking those desicions.
Personally I’m 50/50 on Sarri half of me worries that he might not be the right fit for the Club and the PL and the other half of me would like Sarri to be given a full Summer transfer window assuming no transfer ban a full pre season and another season at Chelsea to see what he could do.
If Sarri was to go though I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to Rafa and I think he would do a good job at any top 6 Club but I’m not sure everyone would be in favour of a Rafa Chelsea reunion and it’s probably unlikely.
If Sarri were to go then I will be happy to share my views on who I think would be the best options and by then we will have a clearer view as to whether Chelsea have managed to get the transfer ban suspended or not which would have a bearing on that. Cheers 999

19th April 2019 at 2:10 pm #38124Mav, really not sure how you can justify slagging off Pep for being a “serial underachiever” and at the same time praise Poch for achieving absolutely nothing so far. If it’s so easy to have the biggest cheque book, why are Utd going through so many managers? Why do Real sack their manager every other season despite them always being amongst the biggest spenders?
Poch gave Pep a footballing lesson? He lost the game and went through on away goals, and a debatable decision at that.
Putting money to one side for a moment, as managers don’t really buy players now anyway…For me, looking purely at the squads Pep has had available to him, he should have done more in the CL than he has done since leaving Barca but to call him a serial underachiever is some stretch. Poch has an amazing squad too and, regardless of what they’ve spent, it’s a squad that is good enough to compete for a top 4 place, which is exactly what they’re doing.

19th April 2019 at 2:15 pm #38125Mav, JOM was never my favourite player he used to drive me bonkers at times but his performance in the CL Final v Bayern absolved him of everything.?

19th April 2019 at 2:18 pm #38126Ranieri spent just over 100mil and won the league. Conte spent just over 300mil and won the league and FA Cup. Poch has had 5 years, spent almost 300mil and won nothing. He’s never had to lose any of his best players either like Klopp etc has had to do. Let’s see how good his coaching is if Real come in for Son and Kane and Eriksen goes to Barca. Because essentially, what is being claimed is that it matters less how good Poch’s players are because of his superior coaching ability.

19th April 2019 at 2:19 pm #38127Ed, I don’t get why so many are so keen to put Pep down judged across his entire managerial career and putting aside what he’s won which is more than any other modern day Manager his team’s have played fantastic football and are a joy to watch if you’re a neutral.
