he should go? no thats silly, the CL is not easy to win no matter how much money has been spent, Barca didnt win every year with one of the best teams ever, Rm won 3 in a row and were shocking and lucky for 2 of those…..they will only replace Pep when Pep decides he wants to move on….and who would they bring in?
Mav i think you having a wee joke with our blue friends on here!!

18th April 2019 at 2:08 pm #38016Iβve absolutely no doubt city will win the league now and next Thursday they will have beaten spurs and utd.
City will dominate the domestic game until pep leaves.

18th April 2019 at 2:09 pm #38018Ironically next season the Llorente goal would seemingly be ruled out.
“Goals scored or created with the use of an accidental handball will not stand from next season onwards, the International FA Board (Ifab) have confirmed.
The changes mean that a free-kick will be awarded when a goal or clear chance occurs from a handball.
Ifab technical director David Elleray explained the changes at their AGM in Aberdeen.
“Deliberate handball remains an offence,” Elleray stressed.
“In the past we’ve managed to improve the laws by focusing on outcome rather than intent.
“What we are looking at particularly in attacking situations is where the player gets a clear unfair advantage by gaining possession or control of the ball, as a result of it making contact with their hand or arm.”

18th April 2019 at 2:11 pm #38019I have one slight doubt in thinking there will be a CL hangover and City will be firing on all cylinders, Saturday lunch time.
These favours simply may not happen.
We could fall short by a single point.
If we edge past Barca, I reckon we’ll go all the way as far as the CL goes.

18th April 2019 at 2:14 pm #38020Luck goes a long way towards winning the CL too City didn’t get too much of that over the two legs but that’s football and sometimes it can be cruel.
I’m sure Pep will deeply analyse his own mistakes over the two legs and will be ready go again in trying to win the CL again next season.

18th April 2019 at 2:35 pm #38021AnonymousI am not looking forward to Saturday, City will blow us away.
Will Poch rest a couple of players knowing we are going to get beaten ?? Kane, Dier, Disco, Winks , Llamela and Aurier are out as of today .
Must give Wanyama some credit just back from injury and he was the only one trying to break up the play of a rampant City, he will be a busy boy on Saturday if he gets the nod._____________________________

18th April 2019 at 3:05 pm #38027Nine I disagree about the goal would not of counted next season. It was not scored with the hand, it was clearly the hip. It was not created by the hand either, it merely brushed it on the way to contacting the hip and this brush made no difference. It was neither intentional or avoidable. Goal for me.

18th April 2019 at 3:12 pm #38029threeps, here are the crucial words re next season “Goals scored or created with the use of an accidental handball will not stand from next season onwards, the International FA Board (Ifab) have confirmed.”
So goals that have accidental handball in them according to the new rules will be disallowed it might have “merely brushed his hand” last night but under the new rules it would potentially be in jeopardy of being ruled out next season based on the above statement from Ifab.
Add this rule change to the implementation of VAR next season and I think we’re in for a very interesting time next season.

This will be a huge mistake. it’s a completely irrational ruling that will mean they will have to award penalties for shots that are on target but hit a player in the walls hand.
That is where stupidity like that must go and I’ll have no part in it.

18th April 2019 at 3:44 pm #38038AnonymousSean , if you have no doubt that city will win the league, you would be happy for the team to forfeit it now and not play the remaining games?
Of course you have doubt because there is plenty of it. I’m not saying City arent strong favourites to win the league. In a poor moment or 2 thing season i’ve said similar but it’s just not true. there is still around a 30-40% chance that we will win the league. City might batter Spurs in the PL, I get what you’re talking about.. the kinda “typical football” situation, or how things can just go against you…
I still think City going out is a good thing with regards to our league chances. I’ll take deflated spirits any day, over extra games to tire them out.
City have no issues with tiredness but they have had issues with mentality this season.

18th April 2019 at 4:21 pm #380393ps, good call. Another way of seeing what could be.
I like to see that as a good theory given the events last night and it could be a cagey affair but for that to happen, Lloris and the D have to be ultra astute.
Maybe psychology could play a part.

18th April 2019 at 4:29 pm #38040Pep like all managers has to take blame cause though City were very unlucky he has not done much to strengthen their Achilles heel defence. It’s no use playing lovely football and scoring plenty of goals if the lot at the back are so weak defencecively.

18th April 2019 at 4:34 pm #38043Sean / Mak – I still believe that if we win all our remaining games we’ll win the league. I read on This is Anfield that some theoretical algorithym done by Pro Score, some french football site rates Liverpool’s chance of winning the league at 60% to City’s at 40%. All bollox, I know, but Mak’s right, Sean, we are right in the mix, and have as good a chance as City of winning it. Who will blink first?

18th April 2019 at 4:58 pm #38044Mak, “Goals scored or created with the use of an accidental handball will not standβ that may or may not be the case Mak but this is not something that is pending further discussion it is a rule that will be implemented at the start of next season.
