First of all congratulations to Liverpool very impressive I think you will test Barca to the limit and make the final.
Secondly, for Manchester City , their supporters and the lads on here my sincere commiserations you were awesome tonight, Spurs were ripped apart tonight time after time incredible display of attacking football.
Last of all , I’ve just got in after being at the pub and still can’t take in what happened tonight !I think I need a pacemaker._____________________________

18th April 2019 at 4:44 am #37955AnonymousEasily the greatest ever game in CL football however very disappointed the best team City lost, they the only team that could have beaten Barcalona. However grudgingly happy for all my Spurs friends. Have no doubt you were watching the game from up there Dad.

18th April 2019 at 6:15 am #37957When you look at the amazing squads Pep has had since leaving Barcelona, you have to say he’s underachieved in the CL. That CL winning Bayern side he took over were the best side in Europe at the time, as is probably this City side and yet he’s not looked like winning for either of them. It shows just how difficult it is to win and how incredible an achievement Real completed in winning 3 in row, despite getting lucky along the way.

18th April 2019 at 6:53 am #37958well, what to say, breathtaking, game of the season if not ever….pure emotion….
sticks in my throat to say but, if i was a spuds fan i would be very proud of my team, so many knocks to keeo coming back away from home
City lads, i have no words, id also be proud but as equally upset!
VAR, it both killed and yet made an already amazing game and taking one step further, as hard as it was as long as decisions are correct we cant complain….
one of the best games ive ever seen (attacking wise) defence…. looked like both teams borrowed ours for the night!!

Not going to comment on anything else until I see the highlights… (but I’m starting to like to sound of this VAR bloke… 😉 )

18th April 2019 at 8:40 am #37962One of the best games I’ve ever seen it had everything including VAR playing it’s part.
I think Pep got it wrong tactically in both games imo going too defensive at Spurs and too attack minded at the Etihad City didn’t need to try and win the tie in the first 15 minutes and it was a mistake not to start with Fernandinho last night as it left City to open to the counter attack.
As good as City are going forwards I don’t think they will win the CL until they sort out their defence which means spending money on it and another worry must be how long they’ve got left of Fernandinho who will be 34 in a few weeks.
Got to give Spurs and Poch great credit for going to the Etihad and playing so adventurously yes they got the breaks but any team that scores 3 goals at the Etihad deserves the breaks.
I thought Son was outstanding last night and he will be a big miss in the first leg of their Semi Final v Ajax who will test Spurs if they play anything like they did v Real and Inter.
Big test for Pep the City players and even the fans now to pick themselves up of the floor and go again on Saturday but if they can beat Spurs again at the Etihad they will all be in a better place come Saturday night.

18th April 2019 at 8:46 am #37963Last night shows why VAR will kill bthis game we love. Takes all the spontaneity out of the game. We benefitted last night with Mane’s goal through VAR which watching at full speed 2 or 3 times it still seemed offside. But the defenders arse was playing him on, and for Sterling’s goal, again at full speed it looked ok. So for me, Mane’s goal should have been ruled out and Sterling’s goal should have stood. I’ve been banging on about VAR ruining the matchgoing fan’s experience, and nothing I saw last night changes my opinion, in fact it strengthens it. It’s a disaster that is about to happen.
But fantastic game at the Etihad, and congrats and commiserations to each set of fans. Banjo – see you in Madrid for the final!!

18th April 2019 at 9:01 am #37965Llrotrenttee just scored, reckon that was correct, think we should have got a peno for the Kompany handball, (give it for Rose in the first leg, then you have to give this!), 12 minutes to go…

18th April 2019 at 9:09 am #37968Hightown, sorry to have to disagree with you mate but VAR isn’t brought in for entertainment purposes but in place so the correct calls are made on defining moments of the game.
Naturally, there will be a slight disruption, but essentially, it’s to support the officials and promoting a fair game.⚽️

18th April 2019 at 9:16 am #37970This is exactly what I thought last night. I have watched in slomo this morning and the ball definitely came off his arm. No question. But you cant turn back the clock. If I was a Spurs fan I would think that they were v lucky. Who is operating the VAR? Why did the referee not see the frames with the hanball? Questions.
