Mav, I don’t think anyone will eat Barca for breakfast Spurs didn’t eat them for breakfast at Wembley and the 2-4 loss flattered Spurs and they would almost certainly be Kane less in the Final should Barca make it.

Liverpool and City would certainly give Barca a much sterner test than United did though.

The pl has some very good keepers now

Kepa has done well for Chelsea

Alison has an absolutely excellent first season and Ederson aswell

Still highly rate Ben foster. Excellent keeper

Whether United fans did or didn’t want Poch is neither here nor there he almost certainly talked himself out of any United interest with his 10 years to win anything comment and that’s before getting into the likely compensation of circa £40m and the difficulties in negotiating with Levy.

Pochettino probably has the best job in football anyway a contract worth £40m plus over 5 years and no pressure to win anything.

I still don’t ?. Just because Ole might be wrong (which I always suggested, as much as I hoped otherwise) doesn’t mean all the other contenders were right. I’m even having doubts over Allegri, who was my first choice, after last night!

But yeah, the top two are unlikely going to be caught while ever they continue to hang on to their best players and buy better ones while the rest of us stand to potentially lose our best players. We might have money but replacing De Gea, Pogba and Hererra wouldn’t be easy, regardless of Pogba’s indifferent displays. Especially if we only get EL football as I suspect.

I’ve said it before but if we do lose DDG, the amount of money we have is irrelevant because we won’t be able to find anyone as good as him who we could attract (if that GK exists even). Say we could get someone like Oblak from Atletico (unlikely as it is). He’d probably cost us 100mil in the current market. We’ll struggle to get half that for DDG because of his contract situation meaning we’re out of pocket AND down on quality. Same with Pogba. As indifferent as his form can be, his influence is huge at times. In order to replace someone of his influence we’d again be looking at probably paying more than we could get for Pogba.

Let’s all just have a moment to feel sorry for Utd fans and our current predicament. I know you all share our concerns ?

Absolutely Nine. Like Wenger, Poch is now in an enviable position every PL manager would love to be in and, like Wenger, he is one of the best paid managers in the league and under no pressure whatsoever. He is unlikely to ever move on from Spurs and it wouldn’t surprise me if he does a full Wenger and eventually outstays his welcome.

You brought Poch up Chucky, not me! Yeah after 5 years at the club and being able to keep his best players while spending 300mil on players, I would expect some kind of pressure. I may be old fashioned but I’m a firm believer in a club needing to strive for some kind of success before a manager gets the credit Poch seems to get. Settling for being also rans and living off CL money is what Wenger made his living out of while at Arsenal.

No players? Rubbish, you’ve got one of the best squads in the league. One Poch can be thankful he inherited. How many managers in the world have got a guaranteed 25+ league goals a season striker?

No transfers? 300mil on players ain’t to be scoffed at. They say he’s had to sell to buy but has he actually lost any decent players? I’d say he’s only had to sell off surplus players.

No home stadium? Ah poor old Spurs having to play in the biggest and best stadium in the country ?
