16th April 2019 at 9:00 pm #37743AnonymousDe Gea made up for that 2nd goal with a miracle save even though he knew little about it and would have put United 3-0 down and right out the game but with their luck you never know they may still come back.

16th April 2019 at 9:05 pm #37744On the domestic front, Cardiff beating Brighton in the big relegation clash. Gives them hope if they win. Next up for Cardiff…Liverpool.

16th April 2019 at 9:13 pm #37745Can’t say it was a miracle save if it bounces off his chin, (and say he knew nothing about it!)
Lucky, even damn lucky, but not a miracle, or even a save for that matter! π

16th April 2019 at 9:44 pm #37750Utd dreadful yet again. We haven’t had a decent game since announcing Ole as the permanent boss. I hate to say I told you so but… We’re in for a long old summer with a heck of a rebuilding job to be done and with a manager whose experience in the PL amounts to relegating Cardiff.
It’s hard to see us getting top 4 with each of the 3 other sides competing for the remaining 2 spots better than us and have probably easier run ins.
More importantly, get in Ajax. Simply brilliant!

16th April 2019 at 9:54 pm #37753AnonymousHmm no, I’ve changed my mind. that’s ball to hand, even though he does move it. No way he’s genuinely reacting there though, in my opinion.
Ajax and barca through. Hopefully we’ll see Liverpool through tomorrow. A tie against Barca is what I wanted out of the 2 options but there’s no doubt that it might be the toughest test we’ll have to face all season.

16th April 2019 at 9:59 pm #37756Wonderful second half performance from Ajax. Thoroughly deserved their victory – could have should have been about 5 or 6-1. They are no mugs and will be a massive test for City or Spurs.

16th April 2019 at 10:01 pm #37757Ed, I think you’re right on that one – does seem a big coincidence on results after Ole given permanent reigns.
The midfield overall, the link up play to support the top end of the pitch and just having pacey wingers was not the only observations United fell short of tonight.
It is yet again another rebuilding job and more new faces to be brought in. Trophies have been won, but I don’t know whether it’s a case of 1 step forward and 3 steps back, plus a question mark as to whether there’s been any significant improvement at all since 2013.

16th April 2019 at 10:02 pm #37758Thought Juve would have a bit more in them than that. But looks more like Ronaldo was pretty much single-handedly carrying them.
All teams left in it will fancy their chances now.

16th April 2019 at 10:04 pm #37759If Barca so get eliminated, then you would have to fancy an English Team going all the way.

16th April 2019 at 10:43 pm #37761Interesting when quizzed by Carra about the timing of Solskjaerβs announcement as permanent manager (around the 2 min mark) Gary Neville said it was good in that it will now weed out the players not now performing. Sorry, but I think thatβs desperately trying to put a positive spin on it. Youβd rather all the team performed now, get to the top 4 next season, and then worry about doing the weeding out next season – Man Utd were going to spend big anyway. So if there are a few βweedsβ left, you can live with that.

17th April 2019 at 8:05 am #37763Commiserations to the Ed and Mav unfortunately last night was always on the cards after the first leg and when I saw United’s back four I feared the worst for them. Some questioned Messi but he’s still a great player. Wonderful performance by Ajax who are a very good team.
City v Spurs tonight should be a humdinger.

17th April 2019 at 8:30 am #37765“So weβve got a rebuilding job but it starts with the coaches and players, and of course one or two additions to the squad will happen in the summer.β Ole Solsjkaer
I would have thought it might take more than one or two additions to the squad to get United back to where they want to be. The worry for United fans now though is, is Ole really the right man to carry out a rebuilding job?
You do wonder that had United waited until the end of the season before appointing Ole whether they might have come up with a different conclusion.

17th April 2019 at 8:33 am #37766well done Ajax, shame for the UNited lads….but it was to be expected, Ole is tanking at the moment and so are the players, its all much of a muchness no matter who the manager to be fair, had Maureen played that squad he would have been lambasted
Pogba, didnt step up (again) De Gea, awful error but he has been so good for so long
Young gifted goals and offered nothing and rashford looked very ordinary….wonder if Barca are having a rethink over spending $100 on him?
Cardiff, great result and will be tough now for pool!
