Mav, a front three of Messi, Suarez and Griezmann suggests Barca are a bit more than average at best imo.
Defensively though they’re a bit like City and they have question marks against them as there should be given the fact they’ve thrown away a 3 goal lead 2 Semi Finals on the trot.

3rd December 2019 at 1:57 pm #55305Pep confirms in his press conference today that he doesn’t want to sign any players in January and City won’t be signing any players in January.

3rd December 2019 at 2:12 pm #55306Maverick. I do not understand why you think Pep will go or be sacked if he does not win CL this season…..it is not going to happen, City will build for future not just what happens this season. pep will eventually go, we all know that but it will not stop club moving forward, we will find another manager, (think they know now) and we will find other players, just like any other team then? I feel confident we will win more trophy’s which they are does not bother me that much but EPL will always be my first choice followed by the FA Cup.

3rd December 2019 at 2:19 pm #55311As far as City’s defence goes, we have made some poor mistakes that has costs us but our biggest failure is not putting the chances away we create. There is little difference between goals conceded between Liverpool and City, 4 ,I think its the other end, the games we lost was because we did not put the chances away, scoreing wise we do OK except for when it matters, our goals for is as good if not better than most It is all subjective

3rd December 2019 at 2:27 pm #55314Mak…Liverpool should win PL unless they have a meltdown City and leicester will go for second spot but I believe City will have a stronger finish. City cannot give up chasing but the lead is substantial now.Christmas/New Year will be a testing time for all

3rd December 2019 at 3:26 pm #55336Brian@2:13pm yes I agree buddie and who of the ilk that City would want would be available in January anyway?
I do think Pep got it wrong by not strengthening that area in the Summer but I think he’s spot on about not buying in January. I’ve always thought you should never buy a player in January you wouldn’t want to buy the following Summer and very few if any of those type of players are usually available in January.
Personally I think City will probably be stronger in the second half of the season especially with the injured players coming back but without Liverpool wobble which currently looks unlikely it looks too big a mountain to climb in respect of the PL.

3rd December 2019 at 7:17 pm #55368Interesting reading and very different views. The only one I disagree witb is that we need to change the manager. We dont.
Our problems this season:
1. Too many key injuries
2. Not replacing Kompany
3. Missing too many chances. 24 attempts v Newcastle. We should have won by 5 or 6 in truth
4. Prone to pace down the middle of or defence and suspect at set pieces. Mainly down to losing Laporte and Kompany. Stones and Otemendi not good enough
5. Silva not quite the player.A bit of a perfect storm for us but dont write us off yet!
