Ya, the ball tech is just wrong. Paxton, do you want to chip in? No? Oh Im just joking man, you’re not full of it.
spurs fan are so touchy… Just cause they have no chance of winning anything this season.
Just jokin man. you do.Ya its just got it wrong this time. I had heard it made mistakes but this is the first one ive seen if im honest. Kinda disappointing now because how do we look at future close calls? How is this not actually an incredibly easy thing to judge in this day and age? They have been doing this in ice hockey for decades, with a smaller faster traveling puck.
In this day and age we should be able to have several thousand FPS cams at multiple points.
This is just dodgy._____________________________

4th January 2019 at 12:57 am #30825Anonymous“VAR should be in place to be able to overrule this.”
We have goal-line technology in place. It wouldnt have changed a thing.

4th January 2019 at 12:59 am #30826Mak, for the record I’m actually more philosophical about things these days and I’m not as angry as I may sound. I’m just very aware of how close the battle may be. You may well be right. We may well go on another run and hopefully we do and hopefully this is another waypoint on a successful journey. As I say, I think we all knew this race would probably be close, and we obviously want to keep as big an edge as possible over our rivals.

4th January 2019 at 1:26 am #30827AnonymousI know you as a very levelheaded poster and even if you were angry or not, it’s totally ok , this is football and we’ve just lost an absolutely massive match. The only smart-assery I had was aimed at paxton. Nothing but respect for yourself.

4th January 2019 at 2:14 am #30829I’m certainly not angry or upset, I never had expectations we would win the EPL. c$ty have accumulated a squad over many seasons that no one can match & spent an unprecedented amount of money in the process so them being leaders has always been a matter of when not if. Over the course of a season they were always going to round us up. Yes we are 4 points ahead but as I’ve said many times it won’t last. I just hope we go back to heavy matal football, it’s awesome to watch & we might as well go down swinging.
Adios till next week cyber chums, it’s fun time for Oz Yob._____________________________

4th January 2019 at 6:35 am #30830Guys, seriously you’re questioning the goal line technology? You sound desperate.
Tough game, chances I thought were fairly even, City controlled the midfield better and Fernandinho the best player on the pitch. Football is sometimes about fine margins and the Stones clearance was one of the finest!
Lovren didn’t have a good game but he wasn’t at fault for the second. It was actually Fabinho who was out of position giving the City player (Sterling?) space to run into the middle. Lovren had to step out before Sterling got too close for a shot or slide rule pass. Therefore TAA moved to Aguero leaving Sane free.
Long, long way to go for the league, I’m sure all three top teams will drop more points along the way.

4th January 2019 at 7:55 am #30831AnonymousMak – sorry precious, I wasn’t up at 1am. Are you asking me to comment on the fact that goal line technology got it absolutely spot on?

4th January 2019 at 8:37 am #30832I thought city wanted it more. We didn’t pass the back well enough but they are a very good team. I thought they deserved it as they controlled most of the game
It was a very good game in the end. Liveroool have done remarkably well this season and we just need to keep going
Thought Robertson was outstanding for us. The goal was not a goal. Very unlucky
Well played city

4th January 2019 at 8:41 am #30833Well what a game perhaps not technically but it was a great watch.
City played like Tigers or like Champions who were not ready to surrender their crown and they were sent out having been told they had to win it whilst Liverpool seemed to have been sent out having been told not to lose it and in the end that might have been the deciding factor.
Three very good goals and how did Aguero score the first from that ridiculous angle it might have been different had Mane scored first instead on hitting the post and on any other day Stones clearance would have bit Salah and gone in but this wasn’t any other day.
Pointless arguing with goal line technology the whole of the ball didn’t cross the line period but without goal line technology I’m sure a goal would have been given. It was ridiculously close though.
I thought Fernandino was immense for City and that Liverpool looked a better team once Fabinho came on.
Liverpool fans understandably won’t agree but that was a great result for the Premier League because the last thing the PL needed was another procession which was the way it was shaping up
to be if City didn’t win last night. It’s game on now and it’s bought Spurs back into the title race now too.
I’m sure that there will be lots of twists and turns along the way but it’s still Liverpool’s to lose and they are still the favourites but if City get all their key players back and playing and they fight for it like they did last night it’s going to be very interesting. And then there’s Spurs potentially coming in on the outside too.

4th January 2019 at 8:42 am #30834Too many “IFs and buts” again. If you start analyising a game this way the enjoyment will disappear because you cannot change what happened. Decisions are made on the spot by the Ref and now by VAR, end of story. All teams will have there share of the results of thoses decisions. The game is over guys, focus on the next game. Hard luck stories are available by the bucketful for any team

4th January 2019 at 9:02 am #30836Can we stop with the Spuds in the title race please? We’re not in it, were never in it, and will not be in it (this year at any rate). We’ve already lost 5 games, and no title winners have lost 5 or more games during a season since Blackburn won it… and who can remember that far back.
City were deserved winners last night, the title is still Pools to lose… they’ll win their next game and normal service will be resumed.

4th January 2019 at 9:07 am #30837Good posts nine and Brian. Good to see you back Adlab and no hard feelings
I’m
Not sure we set out to contain city. We just couldn’t get near them at times. We had no one like ferindho who was everywhere. Getting in peoples faces and brilliant on the ballOnly gripe is Milner was not fit and fabhino shoukd have started. When city press like that it’s very different
It wasn’t a goal. No point complaining.
We got better when fabhino came on but city outfought us. They were winning everythingNow let’s see if we can bounce back. That’s my worry

4th January 2019 at 9:50 am #30841Disagree it’s liverpools to throw away with 17 games left. If it was a ten point lead, I’d agree but four points is nothing and city firm favorites for me as they have the expierence
We be doing well to stay in the race. I can’t see city having another blip but I can see us having one

4th January 2019 at 9:52 am #30842What can I say Wasplicker! Spuds get accused of throwing it away when we’re not even 4 points clear at the top of the table, so by the same logic I reckon 4 points clear puts you in a position of “being able to throw it away”, ergo, “your’s to lose!” 🙂

4th January 2019 at 10:25 am #30843You’re still in the driving seat Sean and I can’t see either City or Liverpool dropping too many points between now and the end of the season.
Going to be very tight imo and impossible to call but as Klopp said last night if someone had offered him a 4 point gap over City after playing them twice with 17 games to go he would have paid lots of money for that.

4th January 2019 at 10:33 am #30844AnonymousMy two pennies on the graphics for goal line technology- it’s pointless. It’s clearly made up (the graphic not the technology). The graphic is just a mock up. Notice how the ball is perfectly circular? It won’t be in real life when someone has just blasted it at goal. It’s just an illustration to help viewers see how close it was.
Same as offside replays – just random clips taken from loads of video which is not as accurate as people think. Neither mean anything.

4th January 2019 at 11:29 am #30845AnonymousI still think we’ll win it if I’m honest. That was a huge test and although we lost the game, we didn’t crumble and we had arguably the better chances. Van Dijk was absolutely amazing. We’ll have Gomez back soon enough. there are maybe 3 matches that will be major tests to us from here on but also potentially a dip in form to deal with at some stage. Still. I think we’ll do it. It won’t be anywhere near as easy as if we had gotten a result here but we’ve got the spine and mostly the squad for the job. Obviously there are big question marks over Lovren and Matip but you can’t have it all.
