Beautiful and a real entertaining closing stages of the game.
I think we have an equalizer in his, but this second half has been one for the neutrals. Just hope we don’t concede a third.

3rd January 2019 at 9:54 pm #30784Fabhino sub chabged it for us and finally got us in the game but city fully deserve the win. We didn’t really boss any of the game. They were excellent.
We didn’t think we ne near city at this stage so we move on
Congrats to see city guys. Well deserved win

3rd January 2019 at 9:56 pm #30785AnonymousSecond half was an improvement. Poor ref.
No-one wanted to make a mistake and that included the ref.

City didn’t let us play. Some times you just have to give credit to the other team. Fully deserved win for city

3rd January 2019 at 9:59 pm #30787Anonymous“5 minutes? Makes the agenda clear.”
Why don’t you make the agenda clear? Tell us what the agenda is. I say this because Kompany could have gone for his tackle. If there was an agenda then you wouldnt go to the yellow side of the fence that that tackle was on. Also, why would Wijnaldum have gotten that yellow? Tell me more about this agenda, please I really want to hear about it. You won’t though because you haven’t got a leg to stand on.

3rd January 2019 at 10:01 pm #30789I’m afraid champions don’t lose those kinds of game tonight. The difference between being 4 points clear and 10 is huge. It reminded me of a game vs Leicester some years ago after Ranieri was sacked where we just tried to contain them and looked for something on the break. It unsurprisingly wasn’t enough and we lost the game. Huge momentum swing that, and I’m afraid disappointing from Klopp again in a big game. Why Fabinho didn’t start is somewhat of a mystery.

3rd January 2019 at 10:01 pm #307902 exquisite finishes from both Aguero and Sane reduces the gap to 4 and well done to Man City – great camaraderie between these two sides in recent seasons.
One could argue the best game of the season.
From what I saw in the much improved second half, I am truly proud of the Reds. Although, it was the physical battle tonight that was our weakness, we showed more resilience and character and proved we don’t crumble like we have done in the past.
We forced City to defend greatly and perhaps if this was a 120 minute Cup game, we might have found an equalizer. The monkey is off our back and we lost to the Champions, but as mentioned, proud, and we still hold TOP SPOT. YNWA

3rd January 2019 at 10:15 pm #30792One huge criticism for me on team selection tonight is starting Henderson; Keita would have been better as with Fabinho too. By all means, rest these guys for the cup game, but we needed muscle and somebody to engineer defence into attack.
Henderson offers neither and Milner is not up to his optimum in my opinion because of recent injury. By playing Keita and Fabinho supplements Wynaldum and collectively, the Midfield is solid and offers the front 3 creativity.
Not really a great deal to say on Lovren as Lovren is Lovren.
Perhaps a new face could be bought defensive wise in January, but the question is who?
I’m more than convinced that I can’t see us lose a game and if anything, go on another unbeaten run, but as they say, time will be the judge.

3rd January 2019 at 10:16 pm #30793AnonymousJust want to offer congrats to the City lads. It was a really good game of football. I’m pretty gutted right now but I’m also pretty confident.
It was the first time we’ve let in 2 in the league apparently. I could have sworn that wasnt true but.. I mean, who else is going to do that to us? Gomez will be back soon and we can get back to not conceding any. Lovren is fine for a 3rd choice at the moment (except his wages) but he’s not up to it. He was at fault for both goals. He’s not paying attention for the first and doesn’t react. For the second, he’s pulling our defence narrow and then charges like a ****ing idiot. There was already loads of space there from his first mistake and then he goes and ****s it up way more again.
They cant all be brilliant players and we’ll have Gomez back in 3 weeks. It is honestly hard to lose this game because the win would probably have handed us the title. We are a little spoiled though because we’ve lost and we’re still 4 ahead of them. I look at that fixture list and I do see problems but there’s nothing in there that we haven’t gone to and at least drawn with already.. and then it’s only been 3.
So, I’m not confident that anything has been decided but as I said before we even passed City out (the wolves win), I am confident that this team can win the tile this season. I guess the only difference is that you’re not making a direct statement.
I respect City and their manager. TBH I think he’s a fucking class act. If it were the other way around, I’d love to have Pep almost as much. I hope he doesnt get banned for his outburst but it Jose had done it, I’d wish for a hanging.
Anyway lads, it’s on now isn’t it.
bring it 😉

3rd January 2019 at 10:32 pm #30795It hurts to say it Sean. It was just too big a game to lose. No way Fergie or Mourinho at their best would have lost that. Instead of shutting the door firmly back in City’s face, we’ve just given them a big foot in it. It’s weak. I honestly don’t think Klopp knew how to play it tonight and got caught playing somewhere in between.

3rd January 2019 at 10:34 pm #30796Just found a pocket of space with service in my travels. Bad result for us, from what I’m reading Lovern had a Barry Crocker & Pep won the tactical battle. I knew we’d start with that mid & was worried it was too conservative but I haven’t seen the game I’m only going off what I’m reading.
Still 4 points clear & any one of us would’ve taken that at this stage. C$ty will not lose another game in the EPL as they now have their top players back into the fold so we also have to win pretty much every game, which we won’t do. This will be a mental battle as much as anything so hopefully we can put that behind us & move on.
JetSki calling, got to go. Take care all._____________________________

3rd January 2019 at 10:34 pm #30797Mak, with you on your second sentence.
I don’t feel upset as such, just disappointed by nature of losing the game and selling ourselves short in midfield.
Although nothing can be taken for granted, we got a good run of fixtures and can’t see us drop too many points.
Looking forward to a change of scene with the Cup game.

3rd January 2019 at 10:46 pm #30799AnonymousMak – calm down petal! I literally said immediately below my comment that I was joking. I felt I had to make that perfectly clear because I know you are very sensitive and given I didn’t put an emoji in you wouldn’t see it as a joke.
