I am sure he will be relieved about that aspect Gi blues, he does make a difference. I know Otemendi is nowhere near as good and make mistakes but you can never fault his his work and effort he makes, this will be his last season with us and I am sure he will want to finish well. CB is probably the most difficult position on the pitch….in Peps style!!!!!….Villa will make sure they have a young fast forward at him on Sunday but he has seen it all before I guess

29th February 2020 at 7:10 pm #79374I am not going to try and out guess Pep but I think he will start with David Silva, Sterling, and Augerro. CB I would go with Fernandiho and Garcia who I believe to be better than Stones. We may see Bravo in goal as well although I think Pep does want to win this game and will take few chances with selection

2nd March 2020 at 5:04 pm #79743Nine…he will get a few more games until the end of season but Silva will still be first choice until he finishes, not long now. Next season will be Foden season a ready made deputy for our David

2nd March 2020 at 5:06 pm #79745PS..starting in the Cup Final will have done him the world of good, Pep has managed him well, despite the clamour to play him more. He is fortunate to have good players around him to a system he has been brought up on

8th March 2020 at 8:18 pm #82941Once again, we give opposition goals, this time Ederson at fault. We need to get our act together before Real madrid and Newcastle in Cup. Foden in wrong position at start, came to life when playing in normal position. I expected City to do much better with the team selected and what was on the bench, changes made too late Pep

8th March 2020 at 8:22 pm #82944Two gaffs by Ederson, no KDB and lacking the same motivation as United did for City today imo Brian.

9th March 2020 at 9:08 am #83355Bernado got it right….unacceptable…sure they tried but they lacked that surety of pass and move and above all somebody to finish. Maybe a bit churlish since they have scored more goals than anybody else but this has happened more than once. The squad does need to be changed next season and I am sure it will happen, in the meantime we have still to secure second place and two Cups so much to play for

10th March 2020 at 2:58 pm #83557I am expecting a much improved performance against Arsenal and Burnley to set us up for Real Madrid. Despite there form of late, Real madrid will want to win this game so I am expecting a cracking game like the first one.I expect Bravo to be in goal and I would play him against Burnley to get him ready

4th May 2020 at 1:13 pm #107276Disappointingly for City fans but perhaps understandably KDB is quoted as saying that if the European ban sticks he “might” stay at City if it’s just for a season but he would be reluctant to stay if the European ban is for two seasons.
Whatever the final outcome I doubt we’ll get a decision from CAS in time for next season’s CL if the CL even takes place next season as CAS currently aren’t sitting because of Coronavirus and who knows when they will sit.
All up in the air and pre Coronavirus KDB would have probably gone for a record fee what the fee might be now though if he were to become available is anybody’s guess but it may not be the circa £150m plus it might have been.

4th May 2020 at 4:42 pm #107457I think KDB is a pragmatic guy, it will not be the money that moves him and I doubt it will be CL because what is important to him is playing in settled surroundings which he likes and there is an ingredient like Silva, Augerro Kompany found playing for City, they look after players well. However, in saying that the temptation is there and for a Cup that will have less value in a few years, overtaken by a Global Club World Cup Change is coming and players are aware of that. I hope KDB stays but if not others will appear and I will wish him well and thank him for some great matches I have seen him play. The wheel keeps turning no matter what

4th May 2020 at 6:34 pm #107556Brian, I think the problem is his age he will be 29 before the start of next season and he obviously and somewhat understandably wants to win the Champions League two years away from it could take him to 32 and time will be running out.
Obviously if he agitates for a move it will be difficult to hold on to him but if he does leave and there’s lots of water to run under the bridge before that might happen I doubt it will be to another PL Club. Cheers 9’s

4th May 2020 at 7:43 pm #107613KDB is not the agitating type of person, feel sure about that , not one for breaking a contract unless by mutual consent. City will win the appeal anyhow some kind of fudged agreement will be made before the due date

5th May 2020 at 3:27 pm #108547I am trying to drive away all negative thoughts Nine. I think KDB is setting up his final contract with City, that is what it is about, he probably wants to stay, CL or not and his playing days are now more defined so he need to be careful in his choice of how to finish.
The inept performance of UEFA over the Coronavirus 19 is still on going, now they are going to have to take on a major Court case. I still see a fudged compromise before the proceedings take place. A Court appearance for City will cost them but for UEFA it will be more with the distinct possibility they will loose.Eventually UEFA will collapse anyway by reason of its ineptness._____________________________

5th May 2020 at 6:34 pm #108669Brian, I think you might be being too positive there Brian.?
There definitely won’t be a fudged compromise imo buddie if City are going to get out of this which given all the leaked evidence looks like a difficult task they are going to have to do it through CAS but they deserve their day and to present their case.
Unfortunately sometimes we have to admit that our Clubs aren’t perfect and they push the boundaries or take the wrong decisions as Chelsea did in signing young players and had to rightly suffer a one year transfer ban which has had a significant impact on Chelsea’s season this season.
The beauty is that City have the opportunity to try and prove their innocence and everyone is innocent until proven guilty
I doubt the case will get heard anytime soon though anyway given the current circumstances.
As for De Bruyne I’m pretty sure it’s about personal ambition rather than anything else and the fact that he doesn’t want to see himself isolated from the CL for too long if the ban should kick in at his age and at the peak of his career he’s contracted to City until June 2023 according to transfermarkt anyway.
If City manage to overturn the ban there’s no problem if not it will come down to what De Bruyne thinks is more important to him a new improved contract despite his current one having three years to run or his personal ambitions.
Chelsea faced a similar problem in slightly different circumstances with Hazard he chose to follow his ambitions despite the fact that Chelsea would have offered him a significantly improved contract but I don’t hold that against Hazard he followed his ambitions and sometimes you have to respect that and let the player go.
Time will tell on both issues Brian personally I hope KDB stays and continues to play for City in the CL.
I really enjoy watching him play and I would hate to see the PL lose him to a major European team. Cheers 9’s

6th May 2020 at 11:01 am #109290Just for the record Brian, City are my favourite opposition team to watch I’m a big Pep fan and I really enjoy the way City play their football.
I hope City don’t get a CL ban and I would like to see them go on and win it under Pep. I really enjoy watching KDB and I hope he stays at City and fulfills his ambitions there.
No bias intended of course Liverpool are currently my second favourite opposition team to watch and Klopp has been a breath of fresh air to the PL imo before that my favourite opposition teams to watch were United and Arsenal when they were both in their pomp and Barca under Pep. Cheers 9’s

6th May 2020 at 3:14 pm #109470I have stated my personal view. IF City have broken the rules then they deserve everything they get.I have no problem with that. I just wonder though going to Arbitration is a big decision, not one you would take lightly, so they must have reasonable confidence that they have found weakness in UEFA case and they are sure of there own facts and actions. We all have to wait and see now.
Love KDB but if he goes, somebody else comes in. It is just that the wheel does not stop turning in football Very few people stay at a club now, Silva, Augerro, Kompany exceptional, Other clubs will have odd players also but you need to be talking at least 7 years if you want to call them loyal. I shed no tears for any player who wants to move on, that is there choice

9th May 2020 at 5:09 pm #112062Everything very quiet at City but I am happy to report one event yesterday I had a call from manchester City, a young lady phoned me to ask how I was and how I was coping with the lockdown She also asked if there was anything they could do to help, fortunately we are covered, we have a wonderful carer who does our shopping with a smile but I though how nice it was for City to take time and ask, well done City, appreciated

27th May 2020 at 4:54 pm #113502City have been quiet re transfers, just the Sane saga with Bayern going on. My view..Let him go…make them pay. If not play out his contract, he may not fancy that route. I suppose much will depend on the Court case, I am not concerned about that either, like I said before, the CL will be defunct shortly and replaced by bigger Cups and competitions, or it will be made into a proper league, Problem will be..who will be invited by the Football Mafia. I would be more than happy for City to chase the domestic trophies for next couple of seasons, then there will be change on a European and global scale
